I applied for Student Accomadatioon at LSBU kind of late (2 weeks ago) and got this E-mail just today:

what are the chances I will get a room at the student accomadation? anyone had the same situation as I don't have anywhere to stay if i don't get those accomadations

Here's what I do:

1. Way before you feel the shit coming, put a funnel up your ass (small side in)

2. take poop

3. clean up

This will reduce your wiping time from 15 minutes to about 30 seconds.

As you know, I'm Japan (without my own laptop), so I'm using my host brother's computer.

This computer was horribly outdated.
It is a Valuestar NEC MC500/3, if you want more details.
Anyway, it had no service pack installed, so I got this darn system up to SP3 and put a (what I think) is a decent anti virus (AVG). It had some old version of Avast on it.
So I upgraded IE6 (!) to IE8 and put Chrome 6 on here.
I also updated Windows Media player to 11, the latest available on XP.

However, the sound driver no longer functions.
It is a YAMAHA AC-XG WDM sound card, and I&ve done some searching.
It turns out the driver is out of date and doesn't function with SP2 or SP3.

Could GAF link me up with a download of the latest driver that will at least work with SP3. I know, my host brother should just buy a new comp! Haha!

What is a good website/blog/forum to read or visit for a beginner programmer? I am currently taking my first programming class and the instructor is teaching us C++. I am willing to - and want to - read about languages other than C++, but I really just want a good site for reading up on the programming world so I can stay up to date and perhaps learn a good deal.

Have you tried right-clicking the main folder and doing a search for pictures and photos that includes subfolders?

The results should show thumbnails for all the subfolders in one window.

Lol, derp on my part for how simple that was. Searching the folder did indeed display all the images in one main folder, exactly what I wanted thanks.
 
okay so my computer has been doing this for a while, everytime i load a page the images come up for a second and then they dissapear and leave behind this

I have the same problem with Chrome too. I have to refresh the page so that the images load properly. I have no clue why this happens. It's the reason why I never really use Chrome. It's really annoying.

I don't know how to use Twitter, but at the bottom of the post in small print, it says, "about 9 hours ago via web in reply to equaliserblog."

"in reply to equaliserblog" is a link to what I assume he was replying to.
 
I have a question about shucking corn...I was asked to bring a dozen ears of corn to a cookout with some former co-workers later this afternoon, so I got some from a local roadside stand. Should I shuck it at home before I bring it, or should I shuck it at the cookout just before it goes into the cooking pot for maximum freshness?

Shuck the corn ealier since its only later in the day, then garlic and butter those bitches and throw them on a grill.
 
Why does the "new post" feature notwork right? As in- I open neogaf, it shows all threads as having "new posts", I click a thread, read it, return to topics, and now it only shows threads that have new posts since I clicked on the previous thread. All the other threads are grayed out.

It's been like that since around the design upgrade. It sucks, but they weren't able to figure out a fix at the time.
 
How do you look up Guiness World Records? I read that there are multiple text messaging categories - T9, Touchscreen and QWERTY. Through Googling I found the fastest touchscreen is 35.54 but I can't find physical qwerty. I think I'm the fastest, want to investigate further.
 
I play a lot of SC2 and a few other games that demand a high powered PC. I have an

nVidea 8800 GTX 768MB
Intel C2D E6850 3.0Ghz
4GB RAM
Vista 64bit Home

and I can not play the game on Ultra graphics with out lag. What part of my PC need to be updated? Why is my game so choppy on High settings?? IF i got an
EVGA GeForce GTX 480 would it work with my PCI-E slot??? If i got that card would i be ablle to play on Ultra High graphics????

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the main benefit of 64-bit being able to have more than 4GB of RAM? More RAM would probably be a cheap way to get better performance.
 
I have my "windows explorer" pinned to my taskbar in win7, how do I change the icon to a picture? I tried the normal way (through properties > change icon) but when I go to browse, none of my pictures show up =(
 
What is the answer to 12 – (6)² ÷ (3 – 5)²? I keep getting -6 but I know it isn’t correct. Where am I going wrong?

My cat is driving me crazy.

She keeps digging at the carpet and rug, I could understand if she was trying to get into a room but she does it everywhere. In the hallway at the doors, in the corner of the room, in the middle of the room on the rug. She has a scratching post which she uses regularly so I can't see that being the problem... it's like she's got some weird carpet fetish and gets her jollies off on making our flooring threadbare.

Our other cat doesn't do this, she just watches evilly. Please GAF, how can I stop my cat digging at everything? :(
