My usage meter disappeared on Comcast's page. It's been gone for about three weeks but it was there before. Is this normal? How can I see how much I've used up without it being there.

anybody know the username of that gaffer that made a thread about commiting suicide? And actually saying he was going to do it and the thread got locked and all.

Guess what I'm trying to get at is has he been online at all? Or did he , god forbid, actually kill himself?

Solid Mustache.

I found a CD I made, according to the CD cover, on February 22nd, 2002. It's still in good condition and managed to rip the tracks to my computer. I've been able to identify all of the songs except for this one:

Can anyone help?

That was kinda what I thought, but wanted to leave out the reamed part.

as long as you include, and actually mean, the sentence about willing to pay standard professional rates for that type of work, the thread will be fine.

otherwise, it will turn into a fun photoshop thread

either way everybody wins. (except for you in the second situation, but stop being selfish)

How do I erase my hard drive or restore my computer to exactly the way it was before I bought it on Windows 7? I don't need to save or back anything up, I just need to erase that hard drive. I swear I've googled it, but I can't find any answers.

Format it? Just right click on the hard drive you want to format and click the option.

Why is it when you call a company (bank, credit card, phone, power, whatever) the computer voice tells you to enter your account number, password, address, size of penis, then press pound. Why does it switch over to a person that proceeds asks for the same fucking information?

I tried that and it doesn't work. You can't format the C drive.
Hm, you might want to check doing something like entering "deltree *.*" into a command prompt, it should delete everything.
But I don't know that much about doing this actually, I thought the formatting would work. :/

Yes, one of the options will be to format the drive.

Whaaa? I don't want to use another OS instead of Windows 7. I bought a netbook but it gets way to hot so I'm going to return it, and I just want to wipe away any personal info that might be on it before I send it back.

It doesn't have to be a different OS. Just reinstall Windows 7.

I'll try it. Thanks. You'd think they'd make it easier erase a hard drive.

There is an easier way, but I doubt any store would take back a computer without an OS.

I've noticed lately that Firefox will sometimes suddenly turn a tab into a separate window for no apparent reason. Anybody else experienced this problem?

It'll do that if you accidentally drag tab into the main browsing area. Happens to me all the time, especially when I'm using a touchpad.

What version of Firefox? The latest beta (4.xx) treats each tab as a separate window like Chrome, and is selectable via the window popup when you hover over stuff in win7's taskbar. You can turn that feature off in options. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Are you dragging it out of its original window by accident maybe? Maybe you have a mouse gesture that does that via extension?

It's 3.5.13, I'm still using Windows XP. Not sure what the deal is, just seems to happen sometimes when I switch to a different tab, instead of switching to the tab it turns it into an entirely new window.

Did you read what demonix69 posted? I'm also guessing it's that.

Ah, whoops, missed that post. I just tried that out and yeah, that's probably what's doing it. Didn't even know that feature existed. Is there a way to turn that off?

What is the use of registering with a political party? (US)

Are you able to change your affiliation any time?
Some states, you can't vote in party primaries unless you're registered with that party.

I bought a Blackberry Bold 9700 and now every now and then, I receive a new email.

Can you guys recommend some nice tunes for the email (as well as sms) alert?

Hey GAF. I want to create a resume for internship positions but I have no idea where to start. Are there any good sites or templates out there?

How come houses in the US are made from wood despite the risk of hurricanes? I don't get it, is it just pure cheapness?
Would you rather have wood planks or bricks collapse on you? :D

(true answer: Not sure where you're getting the idea from that buildings in hurricane zones are all wooden. There's a lot of brick and mortar buildings in Florida/LA/Texas. And yes, I'd imagine if someone's house is wooden down there its because of money or just the fact that it was built in the 50s)

I'm using IE so why is it that everytime I delete my internet history under the tool bar on the internet page, I then go to AppData/local/temp/low and in some of the folders like history and temp internet files have a shitload of recent sites I just visited, even with a picture of the site or image I viewed.

Why is that and does that mean I have to AppData/local/temp/low everytime I want to completely erase everything?

Just use CCleaner, it'll get rid of all that stuff properly for you.
