I meant do it physically, get his phone, enter a number the person has, but put your name instead. My phone was with me all day. I also have multiple locks on text messaging just in case someone tried to do something like this. I doubt anyone would manually enter my information in his phone because his friends don't know me. He wouldn't let anyone near his phone as far as I know.
