There was this thread on here a while back with an interesting movie in it - I think it was Korean. Don't remember much of the trailer that was posted, just that it was outdoors at the beginning of the trailer, it pans to some house and had something to do with "shadow creatures" or something...
Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? :lol

I'm just trying out the music class at my host school and the teacher wants me to write a piece of music, just 1 sheet. I never really took the time to learn how to read or write music, so is there any program I could download that lets me input in notes, and then play back what I've entered in?

If a company was wanting to crank out a Military Cargo plane (Like an Antov 225) as fast as possible without compromising anything (Meaning no quality lost) how fast could they do it?

Okay, just brought a game at a game store. For whatever reason I had a coupon for 500yen off the game and the clerk decided he would take 1500 yen off the price of the game(thus the game became free).

To me it was really obvious this was a mistake and I shouldn't have been getting the game for free, but I wasn't going to mention anything at the time.

Question is: should I go back now and explain the mistake and give the guy the proper payment before his shift ends(I have 4 hours to decide!)? Or should I just be happy with my free game?
 
So my Alienware m11x R2 (i5 version) has crashed (by crashed I mean frozen up, causing me to force a shutdown, which isnt good for the computer) 5 times since I got it on the 3rd.

Three times during WoW, and twice (in one day) during Civ IV.

Are these things normally hardware, software or operating system related? (I know nothing about computers)

I was going to call Dell and get a replacement, but I dont know if I want to wait 3 weeks fro another one if its just going to do the same thing.

That is not normal for a new system from a large company. Call them and bitch about it, they may be able to fix it over the phone. Make sure you note what you were doing each time it crashes, what software was running, and any changes you may have made to the windows configuration. Also any error messages if they pop up.

Edit: Is it only during gaming, or other things as well? Although WOW should not be causing crashes these days.

555s are actually open headphones. You can probably hear them approaching better than with IEMs.

So I need to replace the center console (cd player/radio) in my 2003 Honda Accord. This guy I know has this touch screen media player thing in his car that's really cool. I'd like to get something like that. The only problem is:

A) where do I buy something like that?

B) the center console is really integrated into the panel. I imagine it'd be really hard to take out and then put something else in without it sticking out like a sore thumb. I figure I have to get some sort of harness too. Where could I get that?
 
I am looking for simple automatic backup software for Windows Vista that will do automatic backups of the entire computer to an external hard drive.

The kind that just backs up the changes since last backup. Not the kind that copies everything, every time. (taking a long time)

Basic Vista will automatically copy files to a hard drive, but not the complete disk.

While at brunch with a friend we had a silly discussion and I would like some more opinions on this:

When labeling a kiwi fruit and a spoon as software and hardware I would pair it

Kiwi = Software
Spoon = Hardware

he would put it the other way around.

What do you guys think and why?

just looking for some help copying my stargate collection to my HDD so i can take it away with me.
Im looking for a program that i can copy the dvd to an avi file.
currently i have anydvd and clonedvd but that makes a vob file and im unsure on what to do next?
any help appreciated.

EDIT: ive now used dvd decrypter and autoGK to make back ups :) , just look up a few youtube vids for guides on how to use these
 
A hot milk cup in the cold outside will get cooler faster than one on a warm room right? Is it possible to calculate the rate on both scenarios?


Also, this is for engineers:

I got 2 access cards for our building that don't work really well together. If I have them on the same plastic sleeve they kind of cancel each other so they don't work half of the time unless I pull them out of it.

Is not the plastic thing as one card works with no problems.

Is ther any material I could put between them so they don't conflict?

the greater the heat difference the faster the rate of cooling.
try looking in a thermodynamics book? i know i have it somewhere but cant find it atm sorry :(

I haven't tried it, but I believe VLC has capture tools.
 
maybe I've asked this before, but is there any way, any programs you can download, to let you turn off your monitor via software or on a sleep-timer? I've tried downloading a couple but they all suck for one reason or another.
 
Would anyone be willing to do this with picture or this for me? I'd like the focus to be on Goku's face in the first one, and Frieza's in the second.

I tried doing it myself, but I never got the sizes right, and at 3:30AM, I don't think I can muster it...
 
So last weekend I spilled beer on my macbook. I kept it in rice for 24 hours before turning it on. It works but runs slow after being on for a couple hours. Am I past the point of no return with this?
 
There's no way to install the same copy of Windows 7 on two separate computers is there? In other words, will the second computer tell me that I can't continue installation if I use the same registration key?
 
Here's a stupid question that's been bugging me. What does the "C" in "QBC" stand for in Mobb Deep songs? I know the first part is for Queensbridge, but the "C?" Is it for Crew?

How do I get my cat to come upstairs at night? It gets pretty cold down stairs and we have a heater in the bedroom. She sneezed on me several times yesterday so I think she should sleep upstairs.

She used to sleep with us... then we got a puppy and I think she's avoiding us out of spite! The puppy is its crate at night

This past summer I spent several weeks digitizing many of my 'hand written' notes into PDFs. Now I want to organize the contents using OneNote. So I want to pull a pdf page from what I scanned and save it as a JPEG so that I can import it into OneNote.

Is there an easy way to do this? I want to try to preserve the original quality.

Open it up in adobe reader and goto file > Save as > jpeg


I'd do png to save the best quality.

Cats usually just find someplace warm to sleep. So maybe put a bed on the floor for it to sleep on, maybe a few feet away from a heater.
 
My stepfather was telling me that I can use neutral when braking to a stop, but I read that for automatic cars (such my own) you shouldn't use it unless you need to tow the car or whatever. Also, when exactly should I be using D3 and D2?

You should never use neutral in an automatic car unless it's getting towed or you need to push it. Putting it in neutral when braking or going downhill wastes gas and is unsafe. D3/D2 would be 3rd gear and second gear, respectively. You'd only ever need these if you want to stay in a gear longer then the automatic transmission thinks you need to. Maybe if you're passing a car, going uphill, or towing. Not something you should use regularly, if ever.
 
what distance should one be away from a 50' and 60' tv? me and a friend have differing opinions on this would love some clarification.
