I've got a question about movie/TV credits. Why when they're listing the actors in it at the beginning, they'll name the big star(s) first, then go through the crappy actors but then finish off with 'and James Earl Jones as ...' 'with ~another Veteran actor here~ as ...'?

Hopefully that made sense.

SNAFU stands for "Situation Normal: All Fucked Up." Where did that come from and why is it now used to describe a mistake or idiotic occurrence?

Most reference works ... supply an origin date of 1940-1944, generally attributing it to the U.S. Army. Rick Atkinson, in The Day of Battle: The War in Sicily and Italy, 1943-1944 (The Liberation Trilogy) ascribes the origin of SNAFU, FUBAR and a bevy of others to cynical GI's ridiculing the Army's penchant for acronyms.

In modern usage, "snafu" is often used as an interjection, as a shorthand for the sentiment expressed by the phrase.

Hey guys!
OK I am having a SUPER hard time finding a descent arcade stick (at a reasonable price) for my PC.

What I am looking for is a solo arcade stick that has either a square gate or 8 way directions (up down sideways and diagonal), USB and ready compatible for the PC, will last me a wile, and does not suck = )

Does any one know any good sticks like that or have a stick they are happy with?

An actor may receive "last billing", which usually designates a smaller role played by a famous name. They are usually credited after the rest of the lead cast, prefixed with "and" (or also "with" if there is more than one, as Samuel L. Jackson was in the latter two Star Wars prequels). In some cases, the name is followed by "as" and then the name of the character. This is not the case if that character is unseen for most of the movie.

I know right. The last time I asked, what's the difference between a muffin and a cupcake? I was told that a muffin is a muffin and a cupcake is a small cake... huh? That explanation didn't tell me anything!
Muffins were invented in the 1700's as a kind of small cake. They're less sweet, heavier, have more potential varieties of ingredients, and are generally unfrosted (even more so than was the style for cakes at the time).

Cupcakes were invented later as an attempt to get back to the roots of a small single-serving cake item. They're typically smaller, sweeter, lighter, and are made primarily of simple, modern cake, with the bulk of their flavor variation coming from the frosting.

You can presumably go against the modern trends and make a muffin that might as well be a cupcake, but that's already been done before (we usually call those things cupcakes), and if you make a cupcake that's like a muffin, you have failed.

I remember seeing a trailer for some thriller movie about this mentally unstable guy who plays MMORPGs and eventually cannot distinguish reality from fantasy, and goes on "quests" and kills all sorts of people.
I think it's a german movie, with a strange title like "GenX" or something. No idea what it's called. It's supposed to come out like, this year or next. No idea. It's wracking my brains!

Does anyone know the name of that movie?

My wife is thinking about getting me a PS3 or a 360 for Christmas and she wants to know some stuff that I can't answer:

1. Do both play DVDs out of the box?
2. Can I play every game on the 360 arcade version?
3. Does the 360 arcade version have enough memory to save games?
4. Is there anything at all about the 360 Arcade or the PS3 tiny-gig version that would prevent me from upgrading it if needed (storage)?
5. I really just want to play FFXIII, SCIV, racing games, fighting games, extreme sports games. Recommendations?

Thanks.

Yes
Yes
With the memory unit, yes
Both can upgrade to HDD/bigger HDD, but 360 only has that overpriced HDD, PS3 uses a regular laptop HDD

Thanks.

1. Yes
2. Yes, except for Xbox Live Arcade games, depending on the size of the memory card
3. Yes. Saves take from a few kb to a few megs.
4. The arcade version comes with a 256mb memory card, and the largest is 512mb I think. PS3? I don't know, sorry.
5. Recommendation: forget the 360 Arcade and buy at least the 20gig version, since it's not really that much more expensive. You'll have enough space for a lot of stuff, you get to try out some of the cool Live Arcade games, or game demos, AND with the new dashboard, you'd be able to put often-played games on the HD so you have less load times and noise. Forza Motorsport 2 is the best racing game this gen, as well. Get a X360 20gig/60gig Pro.

The ps3 can play bluray. Are you even planning on getting a hdtv. I have both systems and I think they both are great. PS3 is a great investment though especially if you are going to want to watch hd movies.

why don't black guys get tattoos with white ink?

I have wondered this too. I met this white chick who had big tribal looking spiders tattooed on both of her forearms. You could barely see them, but they were fucking awesome. That's the only white tattoos I have ever seen

So, I have always wondered...

Exactly how much goes to the theatre itself when you buy a ticket for the movie? I mean, when I go here in Holland, I usually pay like 9 Euro's for a ticket which is like 12 dollars, but how much is for the theatre it self and how much goes to the company which released the movie? Or doesn't it work that way?

Okay, serious question this time:

If I join the military (U.S.) what kind of diet can I expect to be made available? I'm a vegan. It's in my beliefs. So, this is a factor.

Is it possible to have tourette syndrome for a small period of time?

For a full month I had a weird facial jerk on the upper cheek just below the eye. It started off small, then it got heavy, then it got larger to the point where it was almost both of my upper cheeks and nose. Then one day it just stopped.

It was fuckin' weird. People thought I was getting pissed all the time. They would be talking about candy, kids, and bunny rabbits and i'd sit there with my eye twitching like i was going to punch somebody in the face with a crowbar.

Sounds like it could've been a relatively minor hemi-facial spasm:

Hemifacial spasm is a neuromuscular disorder characterized by frequent involuntary contractions (spasms) of the muscles on one side (hemi-) of the face (facial). The first symptom is usually an intermittent twitching of the eyelid muscle that can lead to forced closure of the eye. The spasm may then gradually spread to involve the muscles of the lower face, which may cause the mouth to be pulled to one side. Most often hemifacial spasm is caused by a blood vessel pressing on the facial nerve at the place where it exits the brainstem.

I've had occasional day-long instances of a similar twitch on or around my right eye, but for an entire month? Yikes. If it returns, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to see a doctor.

what happens when air gets blown into the penis?

I'd assume it hurts.

Why are blow jobs called blow jobs? They should be called suck jobs, or lick jobs... or something like that.

i assume it's because its *sort of* similar to putting your lips on a flute/instrument.. and you blow through thouse

i have heard a girl say suckjob once.

why is it so hard to find white power cables for my external harddrive?

Hey, Dr. GAF. Got a question for ya'.

On Saturday night, I got a scratch from one of my cats spanning basically half of my face. I didn't have any disinfectant or bandages, and my car was dead until today, so all I've been able to do is put Neosporin on it until now.

Is it too late to do the disinfectant + band-aid thing now?

Why do complete strangers say "Hi" to me?

I mean Im just sitting at a bench at the mall and random guy on a cellphone says hi to me (not whoever was on the phone) while passing by. He and I will never meet, will never have any business together, and will never cross paths ever again. He's just wasted his time, my time, his breath, etc.

neosporin is antimicrobial

Why all the mall shopping carts always tend to steer to the left?

Why if you blow in a dogs face it goes mad, yet when you take him on a car ride he sticks his head straight out the window?

If it’s true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

We aren't descended from the apes and monkeys we see around us today. We share a common ancestor with them.

I don't see any reason for a band-aid at this point unless your epidermal layer is still broken through.

And hopefully you don't contract Bartonellosis.

I've seen gas prices shift a lot over the last decade, but whether the base price is $1.30 or $4, it seems the higher grades are always separated by 10 cents, rather than changing proportionally. Why?

Since I'm a nerd on a gaming board, I might likewise ask "If Super Mario Galaxy evolved from 2D Mario platformers, why do we still have new 2D Mario platformers? And for that matter what the hell gave birth to Super Paper Mario?"

Adaptations don't tend to happen species-wide. It's usually that different groups of the same species have ended up in different environments that causes their adaptations to favor different traits, which accumulate until they're no longer the same.

This, people. THIS.

I don't know...maybe because you're right-handed, you tend to put larger force on your right hand? Can anyone answer? :lol

Is Mario high until the end of each game? How come they call it "chocolate chip" when a chocolate chip would be a potatoe chip covered in chocolate?
