Now for my question...
I use 3 plastic bottles to drink water from and rotate them in between the fridge and drinking them (duh).
However it's starting to taste different and I was wondering what kind of plastic bottle doesn't 'degrade'. I remember that there was a certain type that didn't release all those TERRIBLE chemicals and hopefully won't start tasting funny after being used a lot.
Other alternatives are good too. Besides ice cubes. Size should also be around 1 liter/quart.

Hm. I'm not entirely sure of this, but I think that no matter what type of bottled water you use, eventually, they will degrade over time and release those chemicals. As for an alternative for your problem, have you tried looking at Water Coolers? Check your local retail stores for prices. They're pretty awesome. You'd be surprised how great they are.Hazaro said:

Nalgene bottles make a huge difference in taste. You can also wash them to get any germs out. I've had one for about two weeks and its worth it.

cool. thinking of getting my parents one for christmas. i know they're getting an HDTV next year, and every time i buy a new movie that they want to watch, they forget that i'm buying blurays. would be nice for them to be able to watch them even before they get their new tv.

2). how does one retreive a starcraft cdkey from a pc if you lose the jewel case?
long story short: i got a new laptop and im giving away my pc, i want to take starcraft with me but unfortunately all three of my copies of sc: original are either dead or AWOL. so i figure i could torrent a copy, install it with my old cdkey and then use my remaining living broodwar disc for play. Problem is, i dont know how to retreive my old cdkey.

I was a pretty good Magic:The Gathering player in middle school and high school. Good enough that I won a few local tournaments with decks made of shit-cards I built on dares. As soon as I discovered pussy, my boxes and boxes of cards went to the back of my closet, only seeing the light of day when my buddies and I would get drunk and/or stoned during summer vacations when I came home from college. The last time I seriously played was 12 years ago.
I just found a card shop down the street from my house that has small, in-house, starter deck tourneys on Friday nights. I have enough disposable income that $20-$30 for a couple starters and a tourney entry fee would be a drop in the bucket.
My question is... I'm a grown man with a grizzly beard and a real job. Am I gonna look like a total loser and/or pedo if I walk in and start playing with what I imagine will be a card shop full of 14yo nerds playing MTG? There were a couple guys who used to come and play at my old card shop that we used to talk boatloads of shit to because they were like 40 and hanging out with us on the weekends.

Unfortunately yes. The kids and people who see you will think of you like that. If you don't care what other people think of you, go in and play with them. Back in High School, when Yugioh was still relevant and big, one of my friends would always head over to Burger King where there would be kids hangin' out after school to play the game. There was this dude who was like 30 something years old there who would hang out and play with them. After the whole "wow, a 30 year old dude is playing with some High School students" factor was over, I saw it as something normal. You should ask around if there's people in your area around your age or at least over 18 that are into the game to schedule some days to play. My advice? I don't know. Try it one time. Search through the registry for Starcraft entries. Your cd key might/should be there. After that, you can register your cd key on the Blizzard store, where it'll link it to your account. Then you can download it directly from Blizzard. You can do this with D2 also iirc.
Ok, I remember reading GAF last year and seeing a post where a guy went to a website and made a photobook or something like that. It looked like a professionally made hard cover book and it had pictures in it that he took. There was a website that did all this for you. Do any of you know of such a website?

So I recently just purchased a laptop for the first time in my life, having always had a job that never required me to be in constant contact with a computer I never really understood just how hot these damn things can get. My first incident started the other day when I left 'The Witcher' running on my computer (my laptop is for personal use) only to come back back a little while later and find that the eraser of a rather unfortunate pencil that had been in contact with my computer was starting to melt.
Anyway Ive looked around for solutions but I would like to know what the people here think. So far I've run across a laptop stand which elevates your computer and a fan that sits beneath it. However since this fan draws power from a USB port I cant help wonder if it actually does any good.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I plan on using my laptop for lengthy periods of time and would like to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
