Which is best for gaming on 360, Astro A40s, Turtle Beach X41s or Tritton AXPro (if there are other sets that are better let me know).

Also, does anyone know where I can find these in Australia?

What's the normal starting salary for an overnight radio host? My coworker supposedly is going to interview for an overnight slot at a sports station, and he was saying the base salary is $80k. Can that be right for a person with 0 on-air experience and one sample of his work under his belt?

I have a USB Memory stick that I use to carry around my university work and at uni today I did some work and saved it on the stick as I usually do. At the end of the lesson I unplugged the stick and took it to my next lesson and plugged it in one of the computers there but it wasn't recognised at all. I don't mean like the drivers weren't installed or anything, the computer acted as if nothing was plugged into it and the light on the USB stick that indicates it is on wasn't coming on. I tried all the USB ports (Including the ones that the mouse and keyboard were plugged into and working fine on) and it was the same for all of them and just assumed it was a broken computer since it had been working fine 5 minutes earlier.

When I got home I had the same trouble with the USB stick on all my Laptop and PC's USB ports. I didn't do anything stupid with the stick like unplugging it while it was saving and just used it like I have used all USB storage devices. Is there any way to fix it or is the actual device broken?

I last made a back up of it about 2 weeks ago and while I have lost 2 weeks of work, it wasn't anything really important but it's really annoying losing the work that I did do and my main method of carrying work around.

Did you safely remove it? If not it could be a goner. This rarely happens but you should still always safely remove it, there is an icon for this by the clock on windows when a usb drive is plugged in.

If it doesn't work on any other computer, nor the one which it last worked on, then try to see if it appears on disk manager, heres how to get to that: http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm

Or you could try to see if you can get a ubuntu live cd to recognize it. You might be able to format it or something, but it is doubtful.

I wasn't around when it happened. Why did GAF disable search?
The influx of juniors created a strain on the system. While working on the problem, Evilore discovered that disabling search lessened the amount of 500 errors. So, search went away.

Is it permanent? I'd take occasional 500 errors over not being able to search.

This should hopefully be an easy one, but I just can't think of it. What's the name of a piece of metal hardware that is usually bolted to something like a flagpole or wall and usually has two oppositely facing L shaped hooks, for the purpose of winding a rope around so you can tie it off?

depends on the radio station. But I HIGHLY doubt it. Maybe he said 18k?

Attention Brits,
Why do your sports casters have these weird microphones with the flat part at the top that they stick right up to their lip? Can anyone shed light on this? It has been driving me crazy. Here is a picture from This Mitchell and Webb Look where they are Snooker commentators and have the mics.

So that the breathing out from their noses doesn't hit the mic and cause a rustling/windy sound.

Here's something I've been wondering about for a while. Why do bands always put bonus tracks on the European or Japanese release of an album?

Can a fellow Canadian explain to me why I should bother contributing to my RSP right now in my mid-20's when I'm only working a couple of low-paying part-time jobs?

My feeble mind (when it comes to math, taxes, accounting, etc) is trying to wrap my head around the concept, and as I understand it, it's designed to help people essentially reduce their income during years where they're in high tax-brackets (say, 40%) and essentially store that income away to be retrieved later when they retire and their bracket might be only 20% or whatever.

As a part-timer/student, I'm in as low a bracket as it gets. Why squirrel the money away now? I'm a little hesitant at stowing my money away into a system I don't fully yet understand, but I have everyone in my family (non of my peers have bothered with RSPs yet, to my knowledge) telling me to do this asap and using terminology I just don't understand. :lol

im not sure what the difference is between the rsp and rrsp, ive only heard of the rrsp, but i believe besides the reason you're thinknig of, its because of the benefits of compounding interest. putting 50$/month from age 25-65 results in like 30% extra money at the end, compared to doing it from age 30-65

if you want to test it out with real numbers, google a compounding interest calculator

I have like 100GB of music on my external HDD, if I add the music to my iTunes library does the music files get copied over too?
Only if you've got the option checked in your preferences.
Edit>Preferences>Advanced> uncheck copy files when adding to library.

Because music is generally more expensive in Europe and especially Japan. To the point where, at least in Japan, it's actually cheaper to import music from the US than to buy it in Japan. So to entice people into buying domestically, bonus tracks are put on those versions.

Alternatively, it's to get US customers to import the more expensive versions with the bonus tracks.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's just to give a greater incentive for people to purchase the album in regions with especially low sales.

Edit: Hah, yeah, there's a better answer.

this thread has been useful to me, thanks a lot. Here an iPhone/blogging related question

My parents are going on vacation to south america and they want to use a GPS enabled device to blog. Specifically, they want to enter points on a map, so that it draws a line tracing their trip so friends and family can see.

They're interested in iPhone in particular.

Can anyone recommend the best hardware and software for the job? Price is not an issue.

edit: I forgot it needs to be really easy to use. (lol parents)

Has it been proved that Dinosaurs are birds or had feathers?

For the sake of my sanity I hope not.
Yeah, some dinosaurs had feathers. Feathers are actually an evolution of scales. I know that birds are a descendant of dinosaurs, is that what you feared would drive you insane?

They are called cleats. Or more specifically Flagpole Cleats.

There are Twitter applications that allow you to insert a Google Maps link to your location, which can then be joined into a route at a later date on the Maps website.

So most are reptiles? I know they evolved into birds but they were reptiles before, right?

Dinosaurs and reptiles are not related at all. You can actually determine if a fossil is a dinosaur or ancient reptile by the clear differences in bone structure and shape. They're very different.

Scales and feathers share the same cells or something like that. I really don't know the correct words for it, but scientists can change feathers into scales and the reverse by dicking around with them. There's a "switch" like turning a light on or off that determines what you get. I saw an example once in a documentary where they messed around with a chicken egg and gave the embryo scales. They also gave that embryo a tail by flipping some other genetic switch that tapped back into its dinosaur DNA (jurassicpark.jpg).

Bioshocked in the house. And it's because Dan the Automater and the Beastie Boys hate the United States.

I've kinda asked this before, but it there a place I can get answers on how to set up a Facebook page for my work? My issue is that it seems to do anything, I have to register my personal information, which I don't want to do. How do I keep any personal info out of the work stuff?

Are you trying to set up an app page or a group page or a fan page?

Does Youtube HD stream smoothly for ANYONE? I have a brand new MBP and it't choppy as hell.

Yes it does for me. A tad slower, but smooth.

So I've lent my roommate a couple bucks here and there for a bit now and while it's only a dollar or two it adds up and he hasn't paid any back. It's at $14 so far...is it petty for me to tell him to pay up already?

Depends. Are you living in a dorm or an apartment, with jobs?

Dorms. Me? No job, just subsisting off of what I've made over the past four years. He blew a lot of his money and has a job for like 4-5 hours three or four times a week.

Give him until he reaches $30 or a month has passed, whichever comes first.

Try downloading the Flash 10.1 Beta from Adobe.
However as far as I know GPU Flash acceleration is only supported on Windows right now for the Geforce 8/ATI Radeon HD 2000 series and up.

So is it bad when a girl posts "Why can't we have the same interests?" on facebook. Then her mom asks "Who are you talking about?" And she replies "Chris and I (her husband)"

I mean shouldn't you have figured that out before you got married?

For $14, I probably wouldn't bother him about paying you back, HOWEVER, I'd suggest having him to pay for lunch or something.

Yes you should have. But it's probably a lot more complicated than that. Such as her finding this out years into it, as he slowly drifts away.... :/

When exactly was the sandwich invented? Or was it just in our collective consciousness that food between two pieces of bread is a tasty meal?
