Use a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust, maybe that's the problem. I wouldn't immediately open up my computer.Mechanical Snowman said:Computergaf!
My laptop fan is making a really loud rattling sound. I know it's the fan because the rattling starts after the fan picks up speed. Is it safe to remove the back panel of my laptop and sort out / observe the problem? Is there any danger of doing this, such as breaking my computer with an ESD or something?
Thanks.
I already have. This worked like a charm the first time my computer was having problems, but not this time. This is what's making me think the fan might be loose or something, and not just a dust problem.Desiato said:Use a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust, maybe that's the problem. Nope. As long as it's within reason, you could ask for more as long as it's within industry guidelines.Zoe said:What's a reasonable salary jump to ask for when looking for a new job? Would 10% be laughed at?

If you are really valued, they will match the offer or at least counter-offer. I've never refused to hire someone I wanted because of what they are asking for (Now demanding it is a different story).

Just looked it up on ED. Awesome.Megadrive said:Porsche Girl was a girl who was high on cocaine with some personal problems "borrowed" her Dad's Porsche and was driving way too fast, clipped a guy and went at full speed into a concrete toll booth. From what I've been reading, the only parts of her that were identifiable were half of her face. Her brains were splattered all over the road.
Very sad, I haven't looked it up and I really don't want to.

ps. The three online/gaming/off topic tabs are bunched together with 'online' being the only one that is clickable.
Depends on if your're talking about the Plasma or memory cells. Memory cells have a very long period, ranging from a few days to several years. But I cant articulate well right now since i'm pretty drunk lol.Corky said:When you're sick and your body creates antibodies, how long does said antibodies remain in your immune system?

Lucky Forward said:Seriously, I'm not even gonna say WTF, WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH YOUTUBE? I know my DSL connection is a little slow, but it used to be I could start a Youtube video and pause it for a few moments to let the bar at the bottom fill up a bit so I could then play the video uninterrupted. Now I'm trying to watch a review of the Kindle 3 and even though according to the bar most of the video has loaded, it WON'T FUCKING PLAY without locking up every ten or fifteen seconds and giving me that looping white circle in the middle of the screen. The guy narrating the video can't even get a complete sentence out. It's really fucking annoying. What is up, is there any solution for this?
edit: Okay, I just went back to my Youtube tab and it's playing perfectly now. Oh, F-word, is there nothing you can't do?
Thanks...according to that, my speed is 1.28 mbps compared to a 5.78 average for Maryland. Is that bad?El Sloth said:I think you might find some useful info from here: http://www.youtube.com/my_speed

But why does the trick of pausing and letting the video load ahead a bit work some times and not others?
A computer renders at any particular resolution and is dependant upon a multitude of factors including you hardware and what processes you're currently running. PS3 and Xbox render at a certain resolution depending on your tv, then up- or down-scales each frame based on the width of your tv. Least that's my understanding.Trent Strong said:Would you get fewer frames per second playing a PC game on a 32 inch monitor than a 19 inch monitor? If so, why don't you get fewer fps playing a 360 or PS3 game on a 32 in TV than a 19 inch TV?

you could try to use some motor oil on the fan. my friend had a similar problem at that fixed it. wd40 is not advised because it's not designed for a long duty cycle.Mechanical Snowman said:I already have. And I wouldn't (and haven't) immediately open up my computer either, this problem has been getting gradually worse over 2 weeks or more. I want to fix it before the whole fan breaks and leaves me without a computer at all D: That, and the sound is really annoying.

If its the common cold, it is bound to affect you again, since the viruses that cause cold mutate pretty fast, and every time, there ahs to be a new immune response.Corky said:sweet thanks man... No chance, but it might not be affective to helping your discomfort. Also, smoking to help a sore throat? I don't think that's wise. Gargle salty water and suck on a lemon if you don't want to go out and get new medicine.Snuggler said:Will I die if I take cough medicine that has exceeded it's expiration date by about 9 months?
My throat is killing me and I have this spray but I think it says it exp'd on 12/9. I'm smoking menthol cigarettes to help with it but I need something more effective, I just don't want to get sick and/or die from it.
