WOW. Almost 2,000 registery problems or problems found.

Is that normal when using a program like that for the first time? :lol

EDIT-You have to purchase this stuff? AWW, crap.

EDITx2-Er, now I DL'ed another ccleaner called Piriform CCleaner is this what you guys have? This one was free and it analyzed over 600MB of files so I ran the cleaner.

Yeah, Piriform is the real CCleaner, sorry, should've mentioned that. And yes, on first run after having a computer for a fair while it's normal to have a lot of loose ends in your registry. Let it do it's work. CCleaner is free.

Would you rather have wood planks or bricks collapse on you? :D

(true answer: Not sure where you're getting the idea from that buildings in hurricane zones are all wooden. There's a lot of brick and mortar buildings in Florida/LA/Texas. And yes, I'd imagine if someone's house is wooden down there its because of money or just the fact that it was built in the 50s)

I've only ever been to Florida but all I remember were pre-fab wooden houses, lots of them...and it seemed a bit silly.

I've been having some trouble with uTorrent lately. Some torrents are just fine, taking up my maximum possible bandwidth. Others seem to choke badly though. It may be that there are actually too few seeders, but if I run a connection test, the torrents pick up for about a minute afterward to full bandwidth, so I tend to believe that something is stalling them. I've gone around and followed the steps on various sites on how to speed up uTorrent, but it doesn't seem to be helping in this case.

How come houses in the US are made from wood despite the risk of hurricanes? I don't get it, is it just pure cheapness?

in some areas, houses and certain buildings are built from wood because those structures are more flexible and durable during earthquakes. in many cases, building with wood is actually more expensive than rock, cement, etc.

Is a Music CD-R Better in any way compared to a normal CD-R, or is it really just a way to up the price for chumps like I have assumed for the last decade?

Why is it when you call a company (bank, credit card, phone, power, whatever) the computer voice tells you to enter your account number, password, address, size of penis, then press pound. Why does it switch over to a person that proceeds asks for the same fucking information?
It depends on how attentive the rep who is answering the phone is. At my workplace, the LN# pops up on my screen automatically. I then copy and paste it into another program to pull up your info. So my call starts off as "Thank you for calling blablabla, my name is blablabla, may I have your name please." Because I'm pulling up your info I dont need to ask for your loan number.

But sometimes, if you dont punch in your info correctly or at all then nothing pops up so we have to ask for the info. This happens often enough that reps tend to get use to just asking for the LN# instead of taking a quick look at the screen as the call comes in.

Why is it that 4/5 (female) pornstar twitters I checked today have tweets regularly posting their Amazon wishlist links?

I mean, these are pornstars notable enough to have their own Wikipedia article... presumably they make a good living--and not to mention they make their money by simply fucking--so why the shameless wishlist advertising?

Would you turn down free stuff if people were willing to buy it for you?

First thing you do, hook it up physically. Make sure the wall is going to the router and then the INTERNET port going into the modem. Now, figure out what router it is and Google it for it's administration IP. Plug that into a browser. Login using admin/admin or admin with a blank password.

There ya go, you should hopefully be in your router's administration settings. Then it's as simple as going to the wireless options, setting the type of wireless security (WPA, WEP, WPA-2 etc) and settings a password. Don't change the channel it's on, it's usually fine as is.

The fuck? You have to buy an RSS reader? People read so many sites everyday that they can't just put a few sites in their favorites lists and check them every once in a while, they have to buy a reader to consolidate the trillions of sites they read every day? How do they have time to read all these sites and still have a job, etc.? No wonder people say IE8 is slow and they need chrome, whereas chrome and IE8 seem nearly identical to me. Its because most people have billions of tabs open at the same time, all the time, constantly switching back and forth between sites, or having billions of windows open on their 79 inch monitors at all time, constantly checking trillions of different sites every second of the day. I don't ever have more than 3 tabs open at the same time, and I've felt the need for any kind of extensions. How much time are people spending on-line and how many sites do they check? The fuck?

BUYING an RSS reader? That's pretty stupid since Google Reader is.. free.

Heck, you can code your own really easily.

I have.... 10 tabs open. 1 is a homework assignment, 1 is my 100 pushups week, 1 is a story I'm reading, 1 is neogaf, one is Gamefaqs, one is a skill calculator for Etrian Odyssey, 2 are webcomics that I'm reading through, and one is a blog that I'm reading through.

Most the time I have these tabs open and flip from one to the other depending on what I'm doing. I've never really used bookmarks.

GAF related question: How do I center an image so that it's in the middle of my post space? I see the indent button but I aint sure if it's what I'm looking for.

obviously I could use the space bar trial and error style but that shit aint cool

They clearly understand how to take advantage of their (pathetic) fanbase.

So am I the only one who has trouble telling Peter Gabriel and Phil Collin's voices apart? Especially in Genesis songs, it's hard to tell sometimes.

I don't know if this would solve your problem but depending on what build you're using it may be worth a try downgrading to an earlier but more stable version, or either upgrade it to the latest one. Or maybe it's something to do with port forwarding?

The first time I head Watcher of the Skies (before I knew Peter Gabriel was the singer) I thought Phil Collins turned Scottish.

I have a video (source is .mov, but I have .avi version, too) and I need to superimpose something over someone's face. Difficulty: the person moves throughout the frames, so I need to edit frame-by-frame and them put the edited frames back into the video.

How do I do this? What tools do I need?

Already have CS4, but lots of clicking around yields no results.

Could someone please help find the rest of this picture? I got this half from the background on @CMPunk profile page. I tried many variations of monster last supper, universal horror last supper, frankenstein last supper, etc.. with no luck. Has anyone seen this picture before?

Hope this is the right thread. Figured it was a question that wasn't thread worthy. Thanks.

Thanks very much I will check his work out.

I was able to get the whole image by viewing the page source code. Appreciate you checking.

Hey guys, weird question, but does anyone know if there's a way for me to get a refund on a Blizzcon ticket that I bought? I bought it awhile ago, but it turns out I won't be able to make it that weekend. :( baww

That's the thing, I'm not sure if I just have a ticket in my name, or is the ticket is attached to my Battle.net account. The former would be fine and I could sell it there, but the latter means I'd have to sell my B.net account as well, which ain't gonna happen :p like I said, I'm not really sure what the case is.

Quick question for PC GAF: Want to buy a 1,5 TB HDD, should a wait a little or won't they get significantly cheaper anytime soon?

Thanks!

Let's see. I think Wolfboy by the Creature. Mr. Hyde is correct, I am guessing the Human Fly by the Bride, and Hunchback of Notre Dame by the Mummy and Phantom.

I'm looking for a well-known brand/logo which changes colors/aspects all the time, depending on the context or environment... It's on the tip of my tongue and driving me crazy. help me!

Nevermind, it's AOL :D

I bought an LG Blu-Ray Burner...it is SATA.

Normally that would be fine, but my Mac Pro's optical bays are IDE.

I have two choices:

1. Buy an enclosure, USB 2.0, put burner in there.
2. Buy IDE to SATA, and keep the burner in the Mac Pro.

There is actually a third choice, the Mac Pro has some SATA ports on the MB that you can use, but it involves tearing the system apart a bit and I don't really want to do that.

So which should I do, GAF? Would I lose any performance by making it into an external? I like the idea of being able to burn on the go.

(haven't been to my buddies house to do this yet but trying to get as much info before i go there :D)

ok more info: he use to use the router before at a previouse house and he remembers said guy only took about 5 or 10 mins setting it up and he also remembers him setting up an administration ip and passwords and stuff.

so........

since hes living somewhere else and has a different internet provider is that why its not working anymore??
doing what was said above (googling for administration ip etc etc...)make it work now or should that allready be good because its been hooked up before??

hes also saying that when he tried to do it himself at the new house that its saying that vista is blocking him...
anybody ever here of anything like this??
