Firstly, we had an entire decade of people ruined by false memories of repression. Please read up on the litereature, because it fucked up people's lives unnesseraily, where people were absolutely convinced, 100% that they had been molested by a family member, when regaining a false repressed memory, only realising much too late, that it was false.
Secondly, yes, perhaps sexual abuse at a infantile age could have long term consequences. Infant molestation is however, incredibly rare, and people don't seem to want to pay due dilligence to the word rare.
And going on rumour, doesn't stregthen the case, it hinders it. If there is a paedophile in the family, it comes out explosively enough in most cases not to be passed under the carpet. How can a family member be 'rumoured' to be a paedophile?
If she is wierd about sex and doesn't want to be, she should see a therapist. We can play the guessing game ourselves if you want; though I don't see how that helps her. Are her parents divorced? Has she ever been raped? (I only bring this one up, because 1, rape is far more likely then infant molestation, 2, there are some things she might not find easy to talk about, 3, or she may know the reasons and not want to tell) is she incredibly obese? depressed? had she had a puritanical religious upbringing? is privately very religious? tons of other social/mental issues...
ps. she might be uncomfortable about sex... because she is a virgin at 30...?
