some one was selling $$0 xbox 360 on kijiji said it is not modified but it does not have anything with it. controllers , cable, power bar nothing. How much all of them will cost? what would be best way to do it?
 
I got an old profile pic on my Skype account that I'd like on my PC. I can't figure out how to download or copy it though. Any ideas?
 
2 questions:

1. Does anyone game it up on the 32" Bravia BX300? I'm seeing some bad reviews on this TV but I need a 32" for the bedroom that I can play my Xbox 360 on.

2. Does anyone remember the movie with the orbs that would come in through the window and then deflate peoples bodies by sucking their souls out? I thought it was Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but its not.

I crave the clean look of a buzz and being able to just not worry about hair.

On the other hand, I look younger with my bushy brown hair as long as possible, and get the feeling that more hair sends that message to everyone. I'm only 26 and already trying to think about looking as young as possible. :lol Man

I also have a feeling I'll be losing the hair some time in my late 30's/early 40's...should I enjoy its thick, unkempt bushiness while it lasts?

Is there a site like Rotten Tomatoes that does reviews for TV-shows as well as films? I need to cite a credible source for reviews on a tv-show vs a movie but Tomatoes only does films. I'd rather not quote Amazon reviews or something, I need something authentic.

I have to write a 5 page paper for history class about the separation of the Church of England from the Catholic Church during the reign of Henry VIII. I can't think of a thesis statement for the life of me, a way to begin my paper that I can expand upon. Can any English majors/writers please assist?

While I am familiar with the subject and understand its significance, I have no personal interest in the matter and have nothing original to add. Writing 5 pages on such a topic would merely be a waste of time - both yours and my own - and would be insulting to those with a legitimate interest in the matter.
I must respectfully decline this assignment. If you would like to discuss the assignment's topic with me in person (a format I would feel more comfortable with and likely find more engaging), please let me know and I'll be happy to schedule a time to meet with you. If you would like to assess my writing skills, I can provide numerous samples of other papers I have been forced to write in the past. Their topics range from themes and characters from popular novels and their social significance to the personal politics of another professor who required us all to parrot back his own beliefs in order to get a good grade. my university does Windows 7 (64 bit) Professional upgrade for cheap, and i want to get in on that action...but i need a full install for a new gaming rig i just put together. is there anyway i can use this disc for that purpose (or at least the key) or do i really have to find a legit copy of vista, install that shit, then put this over that?
 
Not sure if anyone can help me with this. When I was growing up around Christmas time there was an ad on TV with the creepest snowman ever and it used to scare the shit out of me. I think it might have been for a power company, the ad was supposed to be cute it just failed miserably and I remember it every Christmas when these type of ads show up every year. It would have been 20-25 years ago and played on Duluth, MN channels. I assume it was a national ad but can't be sure. I know it's a long shot but I thought I would throw it out there. I've looked on youtube and can't come up with anything. Problem is I don't remember enough about it to dig it up. Maybe a gaffer out there was scarred like my sister and I were and has more details......

honestly i love it a week after you just shaved it, its clean and feels like a fresh start or something you have to try it eventually... im 28 im the reverse i should start rocking more hair but i dont have a hair style
 
Can someone explain speed and weight to me? I always thought that the heavier something is, the slower it is and more energy is required to get it "too speed". But apparently this is wrong?

Two items of the same size, dimensions and surface textures, one with more mass than the other, the heavier one will take more energy to move, but will create greater inertia.

In a vacuum, gravity will pull both objects at the exact same speed. No one really knows why.
 
Is there a term for forcing yourself to take a dump when you don't really need to?

When I think about shitting, I think - I hate shitting. But despite that, I think I might have some kind of shitting addiction, or arse rumination syndrome.

It tends to be when I'm bored at work.

Okay but at the same time, the larger object will take longer to stop and carry more energy, right? Yet the smaller object will always accelerate faster T_T Reason I'm talking about this is due to cars and in part GT5 which I ran into a interesting discussion on:

weight has nothing to do with top speed. if a low weight meant a high top end, then an Ariel atom, which has a better power to weight than a veyron, would out run it in top speed.

YOU know nothing of top end and physics. weight is entirely negated at high speed. at high speeds, the only thing holding you back is aerodynamic drag. Hence why the veyron was engineered so heavily towards a low drag coefficient.

it's why most top end styled cars have a smaller front end which slopes upwards and over the front wheels. to reduce frontal surface area, and thusly, reduce the drag coefficient. it's also why they are usually built low, and with smooth flowing lines. so air does just that, flow over them without eddying or poling anywhere, and increasing drag.

Weight is not "negated" at high speed. It takes the same amount of power to accelerate 100lbs from 50 to 100mph at a given rate as it does to accelerate that same 100lbs from 200 to 250mph at the same rate. The power required to accelerate a mass (ignoring friction and atmosphere) does not scale up or down as velocity increases. However, the engine power required to accelerate a mass in an atmosphere with friction eclipses the power required to simply accelerate the mass because aerodynamic resistance increases exponentially.

Two cars of the exact same design, one carrying notably more weight, the one with more weight will take more energy to gain and maintain speed and will stop slower.

However, that quote is correct in that drag is a far greater concern than weight. A plane is probably a thousand times heavier than the fastest cars, it will also travel at more than double the speed, it has slightly less gravity to fight with as it's in the air, but not enough to make a serious difference.

You are right, the reason FTL travel isn't possible is because as something speeds up, it's affective mass is increased, so it takes more energy to move, as it reaches light speed, it is more massive than any source could power, in theory.

I'm trying to find an oldies song that sounds like it's from the 60's, but it could very well be newer than that era.

The song sounds a lot like the Beatles music, but it's not the Beatles, and it's definitely not Leonard Cohen or Jeff Buckley, nor does it sound like their stupid songs that have the word Hallelujah.

It's goes something like... (lead singer sings) something something something, (choir of women say) Hallelujah, (lead singer sings) something something something, (choir of women say) Hallelujah, something something something, Hallelujah, etc.

The Hallelujah's are distant and in the background.

It has a huge Beatles sound to it, but I'm positive that it's not them.

If anyone can decipher this shit code that I have given, it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't really help you there, my knowledge is recycled from documentaries for the most part. It's pretty basic physics though, some quantum physics overlap, if you google beginners guides or dummies guides etc, I'm sure there will be some easily consumable material.
 
Girl-age question I guess :lol A week before Halloween, I started growing a beard. This random girl nearby at the bar hears that I'm saving it for my costume, and she asks if I'm gonna come as Brad Pitt O_o That must be a good thing, right? xD I mean, I don't look anywhere near as good as him, nor do I have any facial features that are remotely similar to his. And he's not famous for his beard, is he? :lol

I can give it a try.

An objects kinetic energy (~ movement energy) depends on the weight (or mass, to be more precise) and the speed of the object (E = m*v^2). So basically, the heavier the car, the more energy you need to pump into the system to get to the same speed as a lighter one.

To stop the object/car, you need to bring the kinetic energy back to zero again by braking. Again, since the kinetic energy depends on the weight a heavier car will be harder to stop.


It of course gets more complicated if you include relativistic effects, but there's no worry at all for cars to reach those levels. Indeed, basically nothing manmade does. If you want to read some good newbie material for relativity, I think that "A Briefer History of Time" by Stephen Hawking gives a good review.


Edit: A note on air drag: The mass does not limit the top speed of any object, it just makes the energy requirement higher. Drag on the other hand is a force that acts in the opposite direction of movement, as a brake, and it increases with the speed. At a certain point the energy that the car engine "transfers" will be matched by the drag and thus the car no longer accelerates.

Extremely simplified, I'm not an engineer, just a student.

Edit 2: A heavier, not slower, car is harder to stop of course :lol
