This Vita bundle is insane... (Vita, mem card, AssCreed $179.99 WOW)

Is there anyone else aside from me that hasn't received the codes?

I'm starting to think my sister actually deleted them. lol

I use her prime account (and paid the $40 student rate) so it gets sent to her school email.

I have still not gotten my codes. Only one I got was AC3.

I got that, 32gb card and MK showing up tomorrow. Had to have something to carry games in even if it's just four of them.

I got chance to play my Vita even more and still love it. Sleep mode is the greatest thing ever. The wife wants me to do something or I get a phone call no problem put it to sleep then resume almost instantly. Liking mutant blob game more than I thought I would silly fun platformer. On the fence about GTA Chinatown wars. I am liking uncharted a lot so far still tweaking the sensitivity. I bought a PSP launch day and it just collected a lot of dust because of the analog nubs. The sticks are so much better just wish they had more throw to them. Now to decide what other games to buy for it.

First business in the morning after the gym is to get that microfiber cloth screen getting dirty.

same, one button press and I'm off doing something else. Chinatown wars is out for this? Will buy and uncharted is amazing holy shit but the muscle memory is gonna take a bit.

Damn it Sony! >:|

Is this something that could be alleviated down the road, or do we have to pray Sony learns it's lesson in time for PS4 OS?
It's up to devs.
Not many games actually drop the network connection though, but some notable ones do like Gravity Rush and AC3L.
Uncharted did at launch but Bend patched out that "feature".

Otherwise, not really much of an issue. Just an annoyance sometimes if you happen to want something to download while playing that game.

Edit: PS4 OS?
PS3 OS already handles this properly.

Good god, I think I went overboard with Vita stuff. It isn't even here yet and I have like 8 games for it.

THERE ARE EIGHT GAMES FOR VITA?! trolololol :X

I've sold off 2/3rd of my bundle goods.

Sitting on an AssCreed game which I'm mildly curious to play despite my aversion to the other games in the series. I think not playing a hoodie wearing dickbag is what makes it vaaaaguely appealing to me. The character looks like a Le Pacte de Froot Loops reject which is good.

What's the deal with this game?

The last stealth game I played was Tenchu 1. On Playstation.

Is it like Tenchu 1?

Don't ask me why I'm asking instead of just sticking it in. I suspect that's my OCD keeping it super minty fresh for someone if they should want to purchase it.

Well that and I don't want to be punched in the face repeatedly by dumb video game story. Can you skip the dumb video game story too?

I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep mine--I really like the system, but I'm not sure I'm ready to "invest" in it (memory card, P4). I have so many other expenses coming up!

This is something that should be OS level, not game level. And yes.. it is dumb. I had to stare at my Vita instead of playing with it so these would download.

If you think that's dumb, try Hot Shots Golf. It leaves you connected to the Internet unless you want to use free-look (moving the Vita to control the in game camera), in which case it knocks you offline. I'm assuming that means gyro and wifi don't function together.

Oof just watched some AssCreed "game play".

Man, whatever happened to dropping players in an area and leaving them to intuit what needs be done?

It's crazy that I watch these videos online and see "game play" and it's mostly talking, pointless cinematics, and 14 minutes of stuff that isn't play a game, and six minutes of playing a game.

Senran Kagura, take me away!

In the meantime Vita is charging. Will load PSPo2 on it tomorrow and copy over my save game from the Go.

I really wish they'd just lower the price of the memory cards. Won't be playing mine until Christmas but I'm going to hold out with the 4gb for as long as I can. $80+ for the 32 is just way too much.

Hey everyone, just got mine and am about to start it up.

It's probably been answered before in here but I've only got time to go through so many pages. I have a UK PSN account and will be using that one on the vita; can the US PSASBR and PS Plus codes work on my UK account? I saw a few pages back that it works for Canadians.

I also have a PS3 with access to a US account if that helps

I don't think it would. Feel free to try it out though. At worst it'll just fail to register

Unfortunately not :( I was in the same boat - ended up selling my codes in the buy/sell/trade thread.

Aaaaand the 16 gig card I bought is now full.

Well, crap. Well, really the upgrade cost to 32 gig for me is now only $26 (from the $60 cost of the 16GB), considering Amazon has it for $86 now. It was $81 a few days ago, it's unfortunately gone up instead of down.

I may just bite the bullet and buy the 32 gigger sooner rather than later. I loathe to consider the backup/restore time it'll take for 16 GBs. A few hours?

Also, I need more PSN friends with Vitas. jvm is on my list, and one or two others I can't recall. So add me if you want a new Vita friend - "indigentia".

I finally got my bundle from Amazon yesterday, and after about 2 hours of play, I've got to say that I'm really impressed. I've always been a fan of the XMB, but the Vita OS is pretty slick. Also, with a baby at home, save states are already useful. As far as cases go, I've purchased 2 different ones, but I'm not digging either of them. Where can I find the PSP style sleeve that came in that first edition bundle? That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.

I think that particular case you want may be bundled in a "Starter pack" Sony makes for the Vita for $30-$40.

Which two cases did you buy, incidentally? I bought that Sony travel pouch with the zip opening, but I kind of hate it. I've been looking around for another but the only one really appealing to me is that Hori hard pouch that opens at the top.

Oh what the hell?

The method of copying PSPo2 to Vita I researched no longer works.

Can't download it onto the Vita directly.

Well, I got a fancy $180 paperweight until February. :|

Just return it, from your various posts is sounds like you can't justify the purchase or you need the money for something else more important.

I'm impressed with the device. It's really solid, but I'm not impressed with the gaming experience on it. The only games that I've enjoyed were Lumines and Zen Pinball, two games I can play elsewhere. I really dislike how gimmicky and plain Uncharted feels. I despise Liberation. So boring and the framerate is awful. Contemplating also returning it and just sticking my Wii U closer to where I typically play handhelds and playing on the gamepad. Like Jadedgamer, I don't see how it fits in my life since I have an iPad Mini. I'm now accustomed to pausing a game and browsing, checking email, tweeting, texting, some of which the Vita can do but not nearly as well.

If you have plus it's probably easier to backup savegames to cloud and just redownload all content.

Does Plus cloud saving work on the Vita? I did not know that. Not a bad idea.

But re-downloading also means having to re-download all the patches for all the games and apps as well, no? And that would get annoying.

Senran Kagura release isn't that far off. Three months. :/

I can't believe that out of all the games out right now, there's not a single one you want to play.

I don't play JRPGs. I don't play console FPS games. I don't play fighting games on portables. I'm not a fan of Sony's PS3 brands that have been ported to Vita.

Gravity Rush is the only thing that's vaguely interesting, but it's not something I must own immediately.

It's nice, fancy hardware. I'm just annoyed that something which has worked in the past has been disabled through software updates and DRM nonsense.

Back to 1999! Damn you Sega!!!

Back to waiting for Senran Kagura. At least Vita is region free.

Seriously, if you are just going to bitch about the thing and try to get others to help you justify the purchase you clearly do not want the console.

Go return it, and if in a few months something comes out you want, simply buy a new Vita.

If you can not afford or justify the money for a $200 item, why would you keep it and be unhappy? That is why there are return policies (of which amazon's is fantastic).

One honest question to all the people comparing vita experience to ipad experience. I mean, it's obvious vita has a differentiated set of features perfectly documented before you bought it. You know, a software library, buttons, portability, a few apps and a great screen. What were you expecting really? An ipad? There are plenty of demos in the store. You should check them.

There's no way Vita could ever match even the basic multi-functionality that an iPad provides.

When I'm at home the two devices on my couch next to me are my iPad mini, and either 3DS or Vita.

PSPlus does that for you as well - just leave the machine asleep in WiFi area.

Honestly I don't get it, I don't see people comparing the 3DS to an ipad. The Vita is first and foremost made for playing games, if you had no interest in any of the games then why did they buy it?

I have that case, and that other official Sony case that clicks to the bottom and folds over. I don't really care for either of them. It's too bad I'd have to buy a starter pack, with a bunch of extra crap, to get the PSP styled sleeve.

It's the curse of the Sony handheld.

Wasn't the PSP originally blasted for being nothing but ports of PS1/PS2 games "that nobody wanted"?

I do recall that it was very much blasted for "not having a clear direction". Using UMD, which was fine except for the stupid UMD movies which made people salty.

Sony's handhelds will always face an uphill battle because it doesn't have the nostalgia market Nintendo does, and when they jam pack it with technology (like a PS3 or 360) people seem to lose their minds, "It's directionless!"

The silver lining with the PSP is despite all the bitching and moaning it went on to become one of the greatest consoles of all time. I'm hoping Sony can wrangle up some more Japanese support and get an encore on the Vita since handheld gaming is more viable in Japan.

Plus Vita has a d-pad, nubs, and buttons. Something smartphones will never have, and why I don't play games on smartphones. I may be fighting the future on that one, but it's a war I'm willing to lose.

You'll have to pry my game controllers from my cold dead hands. >:|

Finally picked up my Vita. So sexy, but what the fuck, Sony? Why are the memory cards so small? I had a hard enough time keeping up with my memory cards for the PSP. I am going to lose this card in a heartbeat.

Haven't had a chance to play yet, but as soon as I am done with grading and whatnot, I am diving into Persona 4 head first. Naked. With a hard-on.

It makes perfect sense to compare them if the intent of buying them is the same. I use handhelds when I go to bed. It puts me to sleep. If I was using it on the road etc, I'd obviously feel differently (I'd never want to travel with a 3DS or Vita since the battery is so bad).

I think that is something we can all agree on. I tried gaming on my phone and tablet just never clicked with me. Except a few games that were perfect for touch like plants vs zombies. Anything else it was just a disaster IMO and I gave up on it.

It is to bad you don't enjoy your Vita might be off better returning it than to regret keeping it like I did with the orginal PSP. I loved everything about the PSP except the horrible horrible analog nub.

Got my vita in yesterday. The hardware makes a really nice first impression. Honestly, the only thing that really held me back from picking this up at launch was the ridiculous memory pricing.

So my 4gb fridge is already full, and the way saves are tied to digital games seems like a pain. Does cloud saving help get around this (i.e. delete PS+ game, redownload later and restore save from cloud)? Would I still have access to these saves once my ps+ subscription runs out?
