Oh ho ho

Iron man 1> Thor 1> thor 2> avengers > iron man 3 > iron man 2> hulk > captain america >

Loved the movie. So beautiful .

This movie was excellent fun barring a few extremely cringe worthy moments.

Movie is insane. Like a mish mash of Star Wars and LOTR with Idris Elba and a rainbow bridge thrown in because reasons.

Natalie Portman nearly ruined this film though.

She's pretty bad in this but she was way worse in Thor 1.

Saw it late at night yesterday, really really liked it.
Great sequences all around and
Cap, Hanger, Subway and Mewmew
killed me.

Can someone explain to me how [ending spoilers]
Loki managed to fake his death
?

Loki is
a master illusionist, and a very powerful magician. On top of that, Loki is not human, nor is he asgardian. Loki is a frost giant, though admittedly some kind of mutant variant. it's possible that wound wasn't enough to kill him.

No matter how annoying she is, I can't get over how eminently fuckable Kat Dennings is.

Kat should have been jane foster. Marvel done fucked up.

Okay wtf was with
the last couple of scenes and the post-credit scene? Did they run out of budget? The post-credit one looks like it was paying homage to an old Ecclestone's Doctor Who set with how low budget it looked.

Saw it a while ago. It was mediocre to the core.

Man, there just ain't no pleasing you is there?

Finally saw it. I was practically at the edge of my seat the while time, whether is was the outstanding action or the gorgeous visuals. I kept thinking, "Man, the folks on GAF who said Asgard looked empty and lifeless ought to be happy now."

She's pretty bad in this but she was way worse in Thor 1.

She's much worse in this movie. They took the semi-interesting-but-still-not-interesting scientist character from the first movie and turned her into the ultimate damsel in distress who spent two years moping over a guy she knew for a weekend and then did nothing but need to be rescued the whole time.

There was literally nothing else to her character in Dark World. Her whole life is just being in love with Thor.

I'd say worse. Man of Steel at least had some interesting stuff going on action and effects-wise. Even if I wasn't invested in said action.

At least Thor: The Dark World is an entertaining and watchable film. Man of Steel is a morose, self important film that is less profound than it purports to be.

This is true too. At least Thor 2 doesn't try to be more than it is, whilst Man of Steel reaches for something more and fails badly.

Anyway, both are pretty forgettable. Bring on Ant-Man already.

Wolverine is better than both anyway.

The problem with Wolverine was the terrible, sloppy climax that makes you go WTF. Thor 2 feels more consistent. I do agree that Jane has a much weaker role in this film compared to the first.

Also, was the Spoiler thread deleted? I can't find it.

While a good movie, good humour and all, my comic book fan soul cannot but be dissapointed in Odin.

The mighty Odin. The Odinforce. Near Omnipotent/Omniscient powers in the comic.

While I understand why he got the nerf hammer...

We saw Gungnir ONE time do a little fuzzy flames that kills a goon.

Gungnir. The Ultimate Spear. The thing that IS supposed to be more powerful thatn Mjolnir.

Oh and I forgot : GET KILLED (or is it?, Hopkins said it was enough...) OFFSCREEN. Goddamnit. It took Sutur in the comics...

/end of rant.

Finished 2 hours ago, thought it was pretty cool. Looking forward to what that first stringer was leading into. Also surprised to find Christopher Eccleston was in this.

I was so excited when they announced the cast for Thor. Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Rene Russo, Anthony fucking Hopkins in a comic book movie, and Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman. What a fucking joke that turned out to be.

I loved this sequel, but man did she just phone it in. Hell, I don't know if I can even call it that. She just did a terrible job. I never want to see her in another Marvel movie. There are too many other characters that deserve her screen time and too many other actors that can play those characters and get paid to do so and do a MUCH better job.

That being said...aside from my rage against her, what a fun movie. :) I can't wait for Thor 3.

Natalie Portman was horrible. Of the two, Hemsworth was clearly giving more feels and sexy fanservice.

I liked the rest of the movie surprisingly much even though I snored through Thor 1. The whole silly fantasy scifi was very Jack Kirby-esque with crazy hats and spaceships.

You could tell she wasn't really into it, but I didn't think it was that bad of a performance.

The one thing I don't get about her is that she keeps getting cast in these very geek centric movies, but then tries to distance herself from them. Why even do them in the first place? (You don't need to say $$$, I know that plays a part, but I'm sure she has her choice of any number of projects.)

Natalie might have been phoning it in, but I like the other characters more than enough to make up for her.

It was an enjoyable experience.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. I did go back and watch it a second time and found the humor to be a little overdone, but other than that I think it was as good if not better than the first.

Natalie Portman's Jane Foster just exists. There's no character there. Compare it to Paltrow as Pepper Potts. There was more life to Paltrow's Potts in Avengers than there was to Portman's Foster in Thor 2. Is that bad writing / characterization or bad acting? Probably bad acting.

I just found this...

HC: Odin’s
fate is left rather ambiguous
at the end of the new film. What’s ahead for the Allfather?

AH: I’m not sure. He
hasn’t physically died on screen, but I played him as a man who’s on his way out. I think they would have to explain in “Thor 3,” if there is one, what happens to Odin. Or maybe it’ll just be a story line, maybe he went to
Tahiti
or something for a holiday
.
I don’t know.

Is that just a coincidence, or was that coached? Maybe I'm reading way too into it after watching SHIELD.

With the exception of Leon, Portman is always awful.

Saw it today...good movie. Needed more Sif and less Portman, she has been horrible in the Thor movies. Still better than Thor 1, just please stop using Jane Foster. She adds nothing to the movie.

As always loved Loki.

I thought they were building a feud between Sif and Jane and that would come into play later, but that seemed to go nowhere. Perhaps in the third one.

Loved the final scene. Always nice to see
the likable bad guy come out on top.

I saw it last night. I enjoyed it, it was fun. I thought the action was well done, they had laughs at the right times and Loki/Thor is just fantastic.

I watched the movie last night. I was very impressed with the visuals and action scenes. It was a really well made movie.

I do have a couple of questions though.
Did anyone else feel that the after credits scene was shot like a TV show? Meaning that it didn't use the same cameras that were used for the movie. Also, are we assuming that Loki killed Odin

Yeah, that is disappointing. I mean I would be shocked if they don't introduce Amora in Thor 3 and things become a love quadrangle but then that's just going to make people wonder why someone with an obsessive crush on Thor never showed up earlier.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it was
shot by a completely different group. Even had a different director. I believe the Guardians of the Galaxy team did that scene.

This was...okay. A little too long in some spots and too much comedy, as well. The villains were weak as well, and there were a bunch of dumb plot holes.

My least favorite Marvel movie in a while.

Jesus, I'm about to give up on fucking Marvel.

Same problem with Iron Man 3. They try to raise the stakes and all that shit but amp up the comedy with it.

Can Thor 3 just be him hanging out at Earth? I'd prefer that instead of a mismash of bland villains that look like they got ripped off Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Cap 2 looks like shit too.

I didn't follow much about Dark World's production so the Zachary Levi recasting was bothering me all of the movie. I thought it was just a terrible makeup job.
