Three in March - Backlog Pillars of Eternity

My goal: (OT Means Playthrough. So 1PT means first time ever playing it.)
March 2015:
1: Persona 4: Golden (PSV) (1PT) At final boss but need to grind. Really wish I could switch difficulties now becuase I'm sick of the RPG stuff lol. So close...
2: Corpse Party: Book of Shadows (PSV/PSP) (1PT) - Plan to start if I beat P4ag
3: Donkey Kong Country (WiiU/SNES) (2PT) - BEATEN!
4: Code Name S.T.E.A.M. (3DS) (1PT) - Day One on 03/13/15 or later depending on when it arrives from amazon. (Chose two day shipping but like Amiibo stock I don't trust it.)
5: Donkey Kong Land (3DS/GB) (1PT) - Will start soonish.

I don't think I'll be able to do 3 games from my backlog, today I started Xenoblade Chronicles, but on the 13th I'm doing Atelier Shallie, then on the 17th (or a few days after due to AS) Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and before the end of the month I'll start on Bloodborne, with so many RPGs, no chance on getting anything else done this month.

Maybe if I rush through Xenoblade, but yeah, I'm not rushing it.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PS4)
Castle of Illusion (PS3)
Saints Row IV (PC)

Bam!

and then maybe some vita and 3ds games if I have time.

Hoping to do some serious damage to my backlog this month:

Assassin's Creed Liberation HD - 100% Sync
Assassin's Creed Unity & Dead Kings
Brothers
Outland
Wasteland 2
Battle Academy
Anarchy Reigns
Dark Souls PC
Dark Souls 2 NG+
Velvet Assassin
Dead Rising

I finished Infamous First Light last night. I'm not 100% sure what my other games for this month will be but the following is tentative.

1. Strider (PS4, giving it a shot but the little I've played so far has been not that great)
2. GTA V (PS4)
3. Wonderful 101 (Wii U)

I should also keep playing Super Mario 3D World and beat that. Maybe I'll bump it up the list. I don't like having too many active games at a time.

Got through Dying Light and Captain Toad, and I'm about halfway through Majora's Mask.

  • Dying Light
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Okami HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
Gunman Clive (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)

Bonus:
Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Finished Dead Nation on PS4 in online-coop, though it was not on my list and I didn't consider it backlog because of PS+.
Was alright. Definitly has many problems with colours and hud that make the game confusing.

Finished Mind: Path to Thalamus after midnight, so technically it was March. I'm still plugging away at Super Mario 3D World. I've made great progress today. All worlds except the final level of the Fire Flower world have been 100% completed. Now I just need to get through this ridiculous boss rush stage in order for me to unlock the final crazy ass hard stages. I also intend to start and finish Lone Survivor, and I'll be slowly chipping away at Far Cry 3 and Pushmo.

Once Bloodborne arrives all other games will fall to the wayside.

1. Mind: Path to Thalamus
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut
4. Far Cry 3
5. Pushmo/Pullblox
Update time!

I finished Super Mario 3D World today. Took me way too many tries to beat Champion's Road, but I finally fucking made it after slowly making a bit more progress on the level each day.

1. Mind: Path to Thalamus
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut
4. Far Cry 3
5. Pushmo/Pullblox

Strider upset me with the checkpoint/save system so I ditched it. Will be trying to finish at least GTA V and Super Mario 3D World

RECAP from February (3/3, 100%) -

1 - The Order: 1886 / PS4

Purchased on release day and finished it February 21st on the hard difficulty setting in approximately 14 hours. Excellent game and 9/10 in my opinion.

2 - Assassin's Creed: Unity / PS4

Finished the story February 22nd. Was playing Dead Kings but quit because I couldn't deal with the horrible controls, free running, parkour, camera and button response time anymore as it was aggravating and frustrating me to no end.

3 - Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris / PS4

Finished February 28th. Good but short game and for whatever reason, I enjoyed the original more than this one. Still a good game and for $8, a steal.

MARCH
UPDATED

I'll be buying anywhere from three to seven games in March with the first three listed below being 100%. The other four games are all 50/50 and include Helldivers/PS4, Zombie Army Trilogy/PS4, Ori and the Blind Forest/Xbox One and Axiom Verge/PS4.

1 - Battlefield: Hardline / PS4

Will pre-order the week before it comes out so I can get that $10 reward certificate from Best Buy, pick up on release day and play the single player campaign until it's completed.

2 - Resident Evil: Revelations 2 / PS4

Eliminated Assassin's Creed II as I cant get back into the game at all. Simply have no interest in finishing it and because of that, I replaced it with Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Will finish the first two games before I start Bloodborne.

3 - Bloodborne / PS4

Will buy on release day and while I doubt that I'll finish the game before March ends, it's on my list simply because it's the only other purchase that im buying 100%.

Just a quick update, managed to finish Metroid Prime today!

I also finished New Super Luigi U a few days ago which I'm updating now too.

- New Super Luigi U Completed on 4/3/15
- Metroid Prime Completed on 9/3/15
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
- Valiant Hearts The Great War
- Ico
- Shadow of the Colossus

I think I can tackle three games this month given the circumstances.

My three games are:

1. The Order 1866-Rented it yesterday and finished it 20 minutes ago so that's one down.

2. X-COM: Enemy Unknown-Been sporadically playing this game since it went to PS+. Yesterday, I made a string of breakthroughs by buying and equipping better weapons for my squad. I was able to take down the cloaked UFO so I think it's starting to ramp up to the end. I just need to remember to not stop playing again.

3. Far Cry 4-Got to what I think is around 50-60% of the story. Might go back and Platinum the game during a drought but the story is all I'm using for completion for most games these days.

Xenoblade is pretty long. It took me more than 200hrs to complete it. I explored a lot and did a lot of side quests, though. Have fun with it, it's really a great game especially the soundtrack is amazing.

I completed Resident Evil Revelations today, so my list is now as follows:

  • Resident Evil Revelaitons I did not really like it… my WiiU also locked up completely when the credits were supposed to be rolling, so I had to fight the boss again.
  • ZombiU
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Hotline Miami 2 Was really fun. A bit buggy, though. Hope those small issues I had are being fixed soon. I think I will wait until then to get through with Hard mode.

I might throw in Metroid Prime depending on when I will finish Mario Galaxy which I started already.

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Okami HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
Gunman Clive (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)

Bonus:
Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Beat Shin Megami Tensei IV yesterday.

Little bit bitter, that I got the Law ending which just left a sour taste in my mouth. Tried to go for Neutral but I believe I was 1 or 2 points to much for that.Only critc points are the beginning and the Tokyo overworld map. Otherwise I really liked Shin Megami Tensei IV. Love the Press/Turn system, liked most of the demon designs, side quests were excellent written, the story unfolded in the last third and even if the characters didn't find a place in my heart like the Persona 4 cast I shed a tear before entering the final dungeon.

Edit.: And just beat Gunman Clive. Knew it was short but not that short. Neat little platformer made by a Gaffer.

Now playing Okami HD and Gunman Clive 2

Would people be interested in it being 4 games in a month sometimes, to raise the challenge, or is 3 in a month high enough?
I suspect that might work around December/January - I tend to get through a lot when spending time off work - but it's hard to guarantee that at other times of the year.

One option I'd quite like to see is, rather than multiple titles in a month, having the goal being 'one big game' - when I've got the mindset for this sort of thing that does rather discourage me from attempting a 50+ hour epic.

Finished The Order: 1886 2nd time and this game is goooood.
Besides I am playing Tearaway and probably will beat it in 2-3 days.

PS4
The Order: 1886 - 2nd playthrough
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

PS Vita
Tearaway

Thank you for responding. :)

The way I play longer games as part of this is to work on it now but think about it as a game for next month's total or some future month. I could put in the next OP that three games is just a suggested goal and there's no strict rules.

Making good progress on Far Cry 3, my third game for this month. I'm at a total completion rating of 58%. Given that the completion rate includes radio towers, side missions, relics and other collectable junk I think I'm in a good spot. I'm not sure that I'll 100% it, but I'll at least get all the story missions, side quests, radio towers and outposts completed. I'm aiming to beat it this weekend! That will give me one more week till Bloodborne to get through Lost Survivor and maybe one other bonus game. :)

Hey, at least you'll feel like you beat it three or four times by the time it's over.
Hey man, that's not fair. Okami is simply a trilogy on one disc.

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Okami HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
Gunman Clive (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)

Bonus:
Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Beat Gunman Clive 2 this morning.

In every regard better than the first one. More colourful, more enemy types, more scenarios and more gameplay variety. But some bosses gave me a little but of a hard time.

Starting Trails in the Sky on PC soon.

Hey, at least you'll feel like you beat it three or four times by the time it's over.

Yeah, heard. Probably won't bother me. Had fun in the first few hours I played.

Well, I started this a bit early after having a great last month (finished 9 games before the month ended).

Games I've beaten thus far:
-Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

Games to try and beat this month (good luck after next week):
-Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS4)
-Pokémon Y (3DS)
-Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
-Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires (PS4)
-Watch_Dogs (PS4)

Platinum Trophies to Obtain:
-Sleeping Dogs (PS3)
-Diablo III (PS3)

Wild month! Took advantage of the sales in XBL, bought and finished Devil May Cry 4.

Fucking, awesome, game. Really enjoyed playing as Nero and boy, this doesn't look like a 2008 game. :O Great, clean visuals.

Then remembered I had DMC HD and finally beat DMC3 with Royal Guard style. It was great!

Still, I'm waaaay to shit to even try doing the whole Heaven or Hell or DMD stuff, but still enjoyed it.

Guess I still have enough days to try and compelte a third game, but haven't decided yet.

My month is simple (but the games are MASSIVE):

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)
Far Cry 4 (PS4)
LittleBigPlanet 3 (PS4)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (Xbox One)

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)
Far Cry 4 (PS4)
LittleBigPlanet 3 (PS4)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (Xbox One)
The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season (PS4)

One down. I very likely won't be finishing Dragon Age this month, so I figured I'd replay the first season of The Walking Dead, this time on PS4. I've also made some decent progress in LittleBigPlanet 3.

Backlog...hrmmm

Shadow of Mordor
Majora's Mask
Dragon Age: Inquisition
AC:Black Flag
Homeworld 1
Homeworld 2

That's a high level list that I'm working on now. I hope to get Majora's Mask and Shadow of Mordor done this month.

Xbox One:
LA Cops
Ori and the Blind Forest
Sleeping Dogs
Life is Strange Episode 1
Rayman Legends
Screamride
The Escapists
Kalimba
Halo CEA
Grand Theft Auto V
Rayman Legends

PC:
Mad Games Tycoon
Retro City Rampage DX

Playstation 4:
Infamous Second Son
Killzone Shadow Fall
Counterspy
Helldivers

Im having a really slow month. Finished Killzone Shadow Fall, was going well until the end 1/3, then it gets really shit really fast.

Ok guys. Beat Tearaway, yesterday evening. If anyone tell me, The Order: 1886 is a short game I'll ask him about Tearaway. 5:30 h to finish. It was....fast!

PS4
The Order: 1886 - 2nd playthrough
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

PS Vita
Tearaway

I've been chipping away at my steam library.

For march I shall say

Alan Wake (finished 12/03/15)
Air Conflicts: Secret Wars
Anna

(Im still in the A's)

I game on a laptop now so I have been working on lower spec titles.

This month is crazy but I am still playing stuff from last year though like CoD. Battlefield will take the game off my system however.

Missed out on last months thread and only finished one game.

A little late this month, but here are my three:

Hyrule Warriors - Wii U - Still on my backlog... I really wanna dive into this game, but I just don't ever feel like it.

Pokemon Omega Ruby - 3DS - Ruby was my favorite pokemon game as a kid. Now it's time to revisit my past with this brand new remake. Super stoked to finally get to play it again with new graphics and mega evolutions.

LoZ: A Link to The Past - Wii VC - I'm beating it this month, I swear. It's about time. I still have the new 3DS game to finish too, but I need to get through this first.

Finished Metro 2033 last night. Janky as fuck game, but still liked it a bit.

That makes

DMC 3
DMC 4
Metro 2033.

Better yet, DMC4 and Metro were bought in the last Xbox sale, that has to count for something. :P

Let's see if I can squeeze a fourth game. :3

I took my first stab at attacking my backlog in February but didn't make much progress then for various reasons. So far March has been going better and I'm actually on track this month. Hopefully I can continue like this and actually start putting a dent into my massively huge backlog for once.

Last month
Mega man 2 (GB) - Supposed to be one of the easiest games in the series and I had to abuse the heck out of the save state feature in order to beat it but a win is a win.

Beaten so far
Assassins creed liberation hd - A rare case of actually getting all the achievements to boot
Tomb raider (the remake) - Got all the single player achievements, have no interest in multiplayer

Working on
Skylanders Swap Force - Beat the story mode today, just finishing up Nightmare mode difficulty for the 200 point chevo tommorow and then putting it aside since it's too darn boring and long to bother with running thought 2 more times for the score attack and time trail modes when they are worth so few points.

Next up
Bioshock infinity - Planning to start this one up next, hopefully my March break hours don't get in the way too much.

If I manage to clear that I'm not sure what I'll move onto next other then maybe giving my 360 a break after working it so hard this month and giving one of my other systems so much needed love.

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Okami HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
Gunman Clive (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)

Bonus:
Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)
Mighty Switch Force (3DS)

I am weak. Had a little bit or credit left in the eShop and a few Wayforward games were on sale. Bought Mighty Switch Force. Beat it this evening. Don't think I'll go for par-times now. Maybe I'll give them a try later.

On my list for beating this month.

- Toukiden
- Flower
- Infamous First Light
- Oddworld New 'n' Tasty
- Strider
- PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate
- Rogue Legacy

This months going well. /s

I haven't even touched Oddworld or Rogue Legacy yet. I did make a bunch of progress in Strider but damn does that game frustrate me, so I'm working up the patience for it again.

And then I started playing Dragon Age Inquisition. Yeah. That's really going to be great for the backlog. I think I'm just going to give up on this months list and try to finish DAI before FFType0, Bloodborne and Toukiden Kiwami hit.

Metro Last Light beaten, will definitely return for a platinum either here or in PC, if my PS+ runs out. Much, much better game than the first one without a doubt.

Four games in a month, can't believe it. :O

  • Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (PS4)
  • The Last of Us: Left Behind (PS3)
  • ???

Don't see myself beating Bloodborne within March, but who knows.

Might beat Dark Souls (PS3) if I revisit it. Should at least try to since Nito is supposedly easy and that's where I'm at. ToTG is a terrible area though. Scratch that. In Lost Izoleth now, but going to tackle the DLC content and finish some odds and ends with stats and weapons before proceeding. Probably an April completion depending how much time I spend with Bloodborne

Update:

Completed TR DE a couple weeks ago. Solid game IMO, even if the characters and facial animation were beyond terrible.

I've actually made great progress in Dark Souls. I'm in Lost Izalith right now, so I'm in the home stretch. I hear this part is the worst of the whole game though in both difficulty spike and quality, so we'll see if I can knock it out. Sort of concentrating on doing some leveling and material gathering before I can't turn back, so might be bust. Also just bought the Artorias DLC.

I won't be doing South Park. Have essentially the whole game ahead of me and would like to enjoy it than try and push it out of Cartman's ass.

Looks like PS+ material will make up the last spot or two depending on the length of Left Behind. CounterSpy sounds to be short, and I still have inFamous First Light. Should be achievable, though I have to get it done in the next few days or all will be lost to Bloodborne.

Far Cry 4
Rogue Legacy
Luigis Mansion
Shadow of Mordor

Spring break just ended for me and I just started Shadow of Mordor so I'm not sure if i'll be able to beat that this month but I should be able to get through Luigis mansion so not a bad month!

Update time!

I finished Super Mario 3D World today. Took me way too many tries to beat Champion's Road, but I finally fucking made it after slowly making a bit more progress on the level each day.

1. Mind: Path to Thalamus
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut
4. Far Cry 3
5. Pushmo/Pullblox
Got Far Cry 3 out of the way yesterday. Currently sitting at a 76% total completion rate, so I might return to do some side stuff.

1. Mind: Path to Thalamus
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Hotline Miami 2
4. Far Cry 3
5. Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut
6. Pushmo/Pullblox

Just completed the order and resident evil remake so 2 down.

To do:
Grim Fandango - just got to year 4
Sherlock Holmes - halfway through
Oddworld new n tasty
Strider
Apothem
Farcry 4
Lego marvel

Reckon I will get the three this month!!

Updated list: Beat Super Mario Galaxy

  • Resident Evil Revelaitons I did not really like it… my WiiU also locked up completely when the credits were supposed to be rolling, so I had to fight the boss again.
  • ZombiU
  • Super Mario Galaxy A really great game. Amazing how I never really noticed any loading. Levels have perfrect length and great design. I got 92 Stars. 100% doesn't seem that difficult/tedious so I might try it sometime.
  • Hotline Miami 2 Was really fun. A bit buggy, though. Hope those small issues I had are being fixed soon. I think I will wait until then to get through with Hard mode.

I'm done for this month, yay! Going to start ZombiU but don't intend to finish it this month.

I figured it was best for me to make a new post instead of updating my first post with my progression. I ended up completing four games so far.

- Asura's Wrath
- Vanquish
- The Talos Principle
- Hotline Miami
- Hotline Miami 2

I just started Hotline Miami 2 yesterday, and so far its been good. I should be able to finish it tonight, and start up another game.

I already finished The Unfinished Swan(short but awesome game), Hotline Miami 2(fuck this game) and now I'm playing Atelier Shallie(gotta work on this one, only 7 hours in)

I will finally finish 3 games in a month haha.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse - Finally finished something this month. Feels good mang!

I'm 11 hours in, the beginning was slow but it gets REALLY good when you get to chapter 5(which I just finished), the battle system is fantastic when you have a full team and I'm in love with the game now.

That sounds great! Thanks for your input.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse - Finally finished something this month. Feels good mang!

That's great! Keep at it mon!

I ended up playing another hour of Hotline Miami 2. It's going great. Not really feeling the feel of being restricted to guns, and using the aggro mechanism.

My main goal is to beat Dragon Age: Inquisition (XB1) before Mortal Kombat X releases. If I play 1-2 hours a day for the rest of the month I should be able to do it.

Top Bottom
