You have to admire the ambition (if not the shortsightedness). Even though they haven't quite launched their first console successfully, Tiger Telematics is already talking about how it will challenge Sony's PSP in the next wave of handheld hardware - and the sweet spot appears to be coming up with a wider screen to attract customers.

:lol :lol :lol

PSP will chew this up and shit it out :D

There was a slogan we used in my Army helicopter unit.

"Don't bother running, you will only die tired".

It can be slightly modified to fit the situation. :)

yes, gizmondo will challenge the PSP...but first, let's delay the handheld's launch date from august to october, where it will single handly get raped by one PSP game!

Those guys are still around? Or are these not the game.com people?

These are not the Game.Com people. Tiger Electronics made the Game.Com, but the makers of the Gizmondo are an entirely unrelated company called Tiger Telematics that just happens to have a similar name.

I think they should have decided on widescreen when they were first designing the system. The system just came out a few months ago in Europe, and they're about to launch in the US in a few weeks. If they release a version soon with a larger, wider screen, then it could confuse or fragment the market, and also irritate early adopters who didn't have that option available to them.

This is a rather bad time to announce any intentions of redesgining the unit for a wider screen. Now people who haven't yet bought the system might decide that they'd rather wait for the "improved" model instead. Osborne Computer Corporation did something similar with premature product announcements back in the early 1980s and it sank the company.

See these are the kind of guys that have been getting raped by Nintendo for the last 15 or so years. It people like this that Nintendo is used to crushing every single time, not Sony. Stay out the game Tiger. Just save your money.

Sega was doing just as well as Nintendo was in the console market and I THINK had a little more brand power with sonic at the time when the Game Gear was released.

sony now, with the psp, is essentially sega back when they released the game gear is the point he was making I believe. Unless I'm batty. As in, Nintendo has experience crushing successful corporations (back in the day) as well as little companys.

also, why the hell is gizmondo talking about "taking on the psp" they are going to have to take a chip out of gba, gba micro and DS as well to get some good cash monies :lol

Sega, Atari, Bandai and SNK were "people like this"?
