It's because of Fortnite that Unreal Engine went free.Fortnite will die sooner that's the future
Aren't you...
"Anti-anti woke"? So just, "woke" then.Aren't you anti-antiwoke?
2/3 of his statement is about issues around game dev (including political stuff). But our boy men in boxes thinks he found a gotcha.
Also, he is not describing the future, he is describing the present. Nothing insightful about it.

But it's not free though unless some recent news just happened within the week. It's because of Fortnite that Unreal Engine went free.
Sounds like he is saying the future is the death of single player games.
the voice of gamers has spoken.

Tim goes into that a little bit here. (Time stamped)Why don't journalists ever try to find out how much it costs to keep a game like Fortnite running every year?
With "thousands" of devs, it sounds like it costs them over $150 million annually! How many companies on Earth have that kind of money to invest in a Live Service game per year?
Might be time to switch to PC.Well what if we don't have many friends mate?
Sacrilege imo. Single player for life or get banned for teabagging and lose your entire library. Multiplayer is too risky now that my multi thousand dollar gaming library is tied to my behavior in specific games. What if I'm just good and get mass reported? Would Sony even tell me why I was banned?
Not necessarily."Anti-anti woke"? So just, "woke" then.![]()
My joke was that using anti twice in a row cancels the word out. So "anti anti" woke simply means woke. Same as how in mathematics, using a plus two times or a minus two times together cancels the first one out.Not necessarily.
Both Woke and anti-Woke are complete morons.![]()

As someone who's trying to make an indie game, all this AI stuff feels weird. On one hand it's cool to think I'm able to generate assets like whole music tracks in a matter of seconds but fuck me if it doesn't feel dirty to use them. Like at that point, could you even say that game you've "made" is really yours? I think not.
So I really hope Tim shuts up and Valve keeps including that AI tag in the store. I want to play games made by people with passion, not slop.
I disagree with that being all that matters. When creating things there's nuance, there's the little details we include in there that reflect the soul and creativity of the person that made them. Be it when making music, 3D assets or coding gameplay mechanics you'll always come to conclusions during the creative process that will make you change what you are making based on those decisions, which could result in adding little details, chaging the pitch of an instrument or making a small adjustment on a gameplay mechanic. It's all about your taste and direction. It's your decision to pick music X instead of Y. That is what really matters at the end
