is iapetus the only thats gotten 9? this 9 letter word is like... a normal word right? not some weird ass word nor some british word?

Unless Cyan is past it, I think iapetus is the only one past. I feel like I'm so, so close.

I'm pretty convinced, for the time being, that my 'rotation' is correct in that

FI lines up with ED

I wasn't able to even come up with all 5 letter words except for that rotation. But I don't see THAT many possible changes to the middle letters. I wrote them out, horizontally as letters progress and letters going down are further options.
Code:
[spoiler]
so for isntance FI ED could be fined, fired, fixed, or filed

XIRKORABO
L CLA P
R TM
N

[/spoiler]
but I can't get any words out of that =\

Oops, nevermind, now me AND iapetus are past 1.09. :)

That word was lurking in the back of my mind, too! I don't know why it just didn't click, though. I guess the best clue I can give is try and think of which letters form an oft-used prefix, and that should be the start of the word.

Edit: you are also missing a couple letter combinations there. You won't be able to get it until you find them.

this is what I have so far for 9, is it at least close?

FINED
CHIME
BACON
TALES
CHAIR
APRON
SWARM
AMPLE
SPOON

edit: I'm beginning to fear the 9 letter words are outside of my vocabulary =\

You have three words wrong.

TALES, AMPLE, FINED

It's not a British word. It's not one you'll be seeing every day of the week, though - you might want to look at http://www.onelook.com/ for a helping hand...

I found a three-letter internal sequence that turned out to be wrong, which threw me for a while.

1.14 has me completely stumped, though.

nm, stupid me... couldn't get it because of my laziness in typing and shortening of words =P

I've been staring at 10 for a while now,

had a weird thought of something like

could 'matchmakers' be people that actually make matches... and then if matchmakers 'light up' as in... explode, well then there aren't any matches left and so you can't yourself 'light up' as in you don't have a match. Seemed to fit with the style of these puzzles but that didn't actually work :(

Well, I guess they were being kind to those who can't spell :D

sunburnt is a word though, as is burnt, its just unburnt that isn't =p

I'm stuck at 1.04 now, I'm getting the impression that the fact that english isn't my native language hinders me a bit here.

What is the biggest part of the bike in the pic, go from there.

1.5 -
you gotta be kidding me. what a stupid answer.

1.6 - ok, I think I'm stumped. is the Greek letter important?

Not a greek letter, but more of an 'action'. You prob will not get it if you are not British.

You're missing the point on that one. It's a series of short connections, not one big one.

As for the red words:
they form the question, not the answer...

isn't that what cyan said though?

like it would start with tic tac toe

and then you have to do soemthing thats "toe the ___"?

Help with 12 :(

only look at the first and third lines. Pretend the clue is:
Most mammals with legs have one.
Even sheds and fences ought to be given one from time to time.

and concentrate more on the fences part.
