I thought that EPG was the anti-titan weapon in that bunnyhop video.
It does about the same damage as a Charge Rifle if you hit a crit

For those worried about the EPG... It's not easy to use. Pretty well balanced as it requires precise aiming and timing and if you miss... You're dead. The 201 will melt you if you go head to head... It's projectiles are sloooooow.
It's the maps. They weren't built with the movement system in mind.Coming from someone who only has PS4 and never played the first Titanfall, did your character have that sort of weightiness this game seems to have? For some reason I felt like you would feel a little lighter, I don't know if people know what I mean.

Been playing pilot vs pilot for the last couple of hours and it's a ton of fun. Surprised so many are against that mode.
Just recorded this match.

holy shit that was boring to watch.
Sarcastic post?
It's COD Lite, at best. Like, the mission statement for that mode is very clearly 'Take everything special about TitanFall and remove it.'

In T1, you were as light as a feather.
I see. Yeah, it's like there's a bit of floatiness to the character's movement. The maps are also pretty open, Boomtown (I believe that's the name) seems like the main map where I can experiment a bit with the wall jumping/parkour. It caught me off guard a bit with the weightiness, thought I would feel way more nimble. You absolutely felt very lightweight in the first game.
This one is much more weighty.
Exactly
Did feel like playing Quake3 at times tho, which I loved![]()
Im in an abusive relationship with this tech test.
I dislike so much of it, but I keep pushing myself to try loving it. Because the TitanFall I knpw and love might still be derp inside somewhere. Behind the hurt.
Dear god, who proposed getting rid of Titan shields? Can they please not have decision making powers anymore?
Explain?

Unlocked the Mastif. Oh man..I cant stop playing this game. Starting to feel like I should just wait till full release, since I know my progress wont be transfered over.
I'll definitely be there day uno.

What kills me. I posted it earlier, but if you ever read the final days of titanfall, they looked at this system and decided against it as they considered the shields more fun.
What is there to explain? You can't tell me that's not OP. That first shot wasn't even close.
It's called splash damage
I don't know why it's so hard for some of you to understand that some people actually enjoy simple deathmatch in lots of different types of shooters. It should actually make sense to you that some people who like PvP enjoy the game more than others is because it seems the Titans themselves are one of the biggest issues people are having with the test. Those who like the on-foot gameplay seem to like Pilot vs Pilot. Yes, we get that you hate this game because it's not like the original and I totally get it, I played the first a lot. But even in the first one I loved the combat of the Pilots more than the Titans, although the Titans were still fun.
And Modern Warfare or say COD2 is COD Lite by today's standards, so I don't see that as a bash necessarily.
I wouldn't buy the game for only that game mode though, partially because I think the population may suffer like it did in the first.

Its like people are looking for reasons to complain or something? No, no one would ever do that.

You're playing the game wrong, hear me out!

Its my general understanding that with all these new features and gameplay mechanics it has people frustrated, not very informed, and confused. There's good news, though, it's not your fault! Respawn made a ballsy decision to add a new game mechanic known as the Battery System, and people simply just don't understand it, because it was never explained in the Tech Test. After putting in a combined 15 hours between The 1st and 2nd Test, i've come to realize a lot about the new System, and I will do my best to explain it (It's really not that bad, I promise!).
Teamwork is greatly encouraged : As a hardcore Tf1 fan, I absolutely love the original. One thing the original game lacked was the feeling of helping your team. I could get 100+ points a game in Attrition but in the end it felt like I was just running around by myself acquiring points. Things have definitely changed. The new Battery System encourages teamwork and helps sustain your teams titans on the battlefield. If you haven't noticed already, the batteries are often lying all over the maps (They show up as a green square on your mini-map). It's as simple as picking them up and waiting for a friendly titan, or disembarking momentarily to boost your own titan. A cool feature i noticed is that when there is a nearby titan and you have a battery, you can notify them to come to you and make the process one step easier. Don't forget to use that Grappling Hook to swing over to your friendly titans!
Intentions of the batteries : The battery system was clearly intended to be a HUGE part of the game, and since many of us aren't taking advantage of it, we are greatly reducing our potentials. Giving a battery to your own or friendly will give it a health boost and a shield, which is very important if you want your titan to survive. Not only this, but putting a battery in a friendly titan will give you a 35% reduction on your build time. This is fairly large amount, and needs to be implemented if you want a titan faster, and help your team's titans last longer on the battlefield.
New Rodeo vs Old Rodeo : Let's face it guys, the old rodeo wasn't that good, it's okay to admit it. There were very limited ways to effectively rodeo someone. Using the Spitfire with the slammer mod was one of the only viable options, and since the Spitfire just wasn't that great of gun anywhere else, it wasn't worth using just to rodeo someone.
There were essentially two ways to counter a rodeo 1) Pop Electric Smoke 2) Cluster Missile a nearby wall and turn towards it. The first option is a no brainer, and because its the most reasonable and effective one, almost everybody had Electric Smoke, plus it had a cooldown (as opposed to being earned in tf2). It was nearly pointless to even try to rodeo someone because they would pop the smoke and you would die, or you would have to jump back off (usually dying as a result if they found you). Option 2 is very problematic for obvious reasons. sure, you could kill the rodeo pilot, but you severely damage yourself in the process. Not to mention, half of the time you tried to jump up and rodeo a titan, you would get surprised with a message saying you were crushed even though you were never stepped on (Jesus Christ that was so annoying).
The new Rodeo system is much more diverse and effective. Electric Smoke is now earned, so it will not be spammed every single time you try to rodeo. Taking a battery from a titan will put it in a doomed state (But if you are the titian, for the love of God, don't disembark yet!) A doomed titan in tf2 is not a dead titan. Your health does not deplete over time like in in Tf2, and you can either choose to fight (but recommended at a distance to avoid getting executed) or sit back and wait for a friendly pilot to come to the rescue. This is where the battery system becomes very effective, because now your fellow teammates can go and grab you a new battery so you can keep fighting, and remain in your titan for an extended time. Rodeos in Tf2 are a win-win. You are weakening your enemies, and potentially strengthening your teammates.
Man, why do Pilots get the 40mm and not Titans?
Oh hey look I've been playing Destiny and WoW instead of Titanfall 2 all day and I'm a much happier person as a result.
Which is fucking sad.
Cause Respawn decided to put the more specialized titans in the tech test :/
This guy posted some good tips and musings on the new rodeo and batteries.

Ive been rodeoing a lot more lately and it really does feel like a key goal for any pilot once titans are on the field. If you're a pilot and dont have a battery, you should be trying to rodeo.
The stim and grapple are both really useful for rodeoing, the stim lets you get away quick and heal up.
Calling a Titan without a battery seems like a bad idea unless it's just to farm the dz in ai mode or there are no other titans on the field yet.
Lol. I'm betting there will be customizable Tiatns in the final game. The complete and total lack of Titan customization is abominable. I loved being able to switch gear on the titans in 1 and that's one area where I hoped they were going to open even more customization, maybe even mech creating instead of just choosing between small, medium, and large. Nope, complete opposite direction.
and who doesn't like big mechs?
Same. My head still hurts thinking about how disappointing this is. Just one month ago I was so set on getting this day one due to how much I loved the first game. Most disappointing sequel this gen by far for me -- possibly of all time in terms of gaming (though I hate to sound like I'm going overboard).

Me. ;-)
I've got no time for shooting bullet sponge 'anything' in an FPS - also can't see the fun in killing bots that are no threat and stand around in the open.
I'm semi enjoying 'PilotFall 2' though but can't see me buying it when the novelty and new-ness of it gunplay and mechanics wears off, might pick it up cheap further down the line one day IF Pilot V Pilot is still populated.
TBH it sounds like you would be better just sticking with call of duty if you dislike doing anything else then shooting another player quickly.
