Titanfall (first game) being removed from all digital services - March 2022

They never stop making physical copies not even once. Digital they stop all the time. With physical there's effectively unlimited shelfspace and you can make new copies like out of thin air. Physical is the real future we deserve.

Emulation stinks. You know what's better. Going to Wal-mart and buying a real NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, SEGA GENESIS, etc.
Once digital games are delisted they literally become impossible to buy. There are great digital games from the 360 era that I wish I could buy but I can't because there's no way to do so anymore at all. On the other hand I can still buy out of print Xbox 360 games pre-owned at retail stores like Gamestop (hell, I checked my local Gamestop and they had a ton of copies of the original Titanfall for Xbox One on the shelf for $4.99 despite not being in production anymore) or even online. You can buy out of print games brand new online if you want to even if you're willing to pay extra. Digital? Too bad. If the license is expired or they delisted it for whatever reason you can't buy it. It's funny how digital advocates use stores like Walmart as an example when we all know those types of stores only sell the latest mass market games and they pretend like the retro online market hasn't existed since the 90's.

I can't believe the stupidity I'm reading in here about digital and physical lol. This game was released physically too lol.

How exactly does it being delisted digitally 7 years after release, long after physical copies would have stopped being produced, make digital look bad?

You can still buy second hand physical copies and play them just like you could back in the ps2 days. What you're saying makes literally no sense lol. The fact is that without digital games works have a much shorter lifespan.
I love the take. GO OFF them kids.

Also rest in peace COD killer.

You can't go into a retail store and buy a new copy of titanfall. They stopped making physical copies like 5 years ago. And despite what you said before, no, you can't just walk in to any gaming store and buy any game you want lol. I thought you were joking when you said that because it's so ludicrous.

Digital emulation has done far more for game preservation than physical can ever do.

Yeah TF2 absolutely bombed, which is why TF3 hasn't been made. It was in the bargain bin like 2 months after release. TF1 was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better and sold far better despite being xbox exclusive and being the game to hate for the blue rats. There was so much FUD from that camp that even CBOAT got themself banned by spreading bullshit lies to try and talk it down. TF2 just tried to dumb the game down to current trends and popular games such as cod and overwatch. It went hero shooter and 3 lane map design with limited customisation.
Titanfall 2 was the game being dumped by the case at Dollarama for $4. I dont care if the game didnt sell well being awesomely strategically sandwiched between BF1 and COD as EA's 1-2 KO punch. lol. What a disaster that was.

And Dollarama typically has a retail markup of about 25-35%, so EA dumped copies of TF2 to them for somewhere I'd say about $2.70 - 3.00.

But TF2 (despite it's better production values and SP campaign) just seemed off. It was too COD-ish, the titans were some reason weak as hell, and the cater to casuals perks like that Xray vision skill all combined for a game akin to COD in a robot shell. The maps were worse too.

I love the way they say "it's part of our DNA" and then state the game was released "7 years ago" as if it's a lifetime ago. This is why multiplayer only games are of no use to me and will not touch BF2042 even as a massive battlefield fan.

I bet these servers will be switched off sometime in 2022.

they can be extinguished just like that with very little warning. your product is then completely useless.

These games usually are nearly unplayable due to little to zero player base long before servers get shut down.
