Amazing game and better than its sequel in certain areas. I really enjoyed the Titan combat in the first game. A shame the franchise never really took off.
I don't know what you are talking about retail stores have unlimited supplies of games and never stop selling a game. I can go to wal-mart right now and get Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 if I wanted to.I can't believe the stupidity I'm reading in here about digital and physical lol. This game was released physically too lol.
How exactly does it being delisted digitally 7 years after release, long after physical copies would have stopped being produced, make digital look bad?
You can still buy second hand physical copies and play them just like you could back in the ps2 days. What you're saying makes literally no sense lol. The fact is that without digital games works have a much shorter lifespan.
Yup. Solid game. The two biggest criticisms were zero SP campaign (those canned matches acting like a campaign didnt even make sense), and launch game performance was hitchy.RIP one of the best online experiences I've ever had. Playing attrition was so amazing that I have fond memories of it to this day.
This was the post I was looking for. I thought why would they discontinue sales and miss out on small profits of they plan to have servers alive anyway. I guess they thought killing servers outright will be bad PR and they thought right. Also it shouldn't cost them anything to list the game on their own parent company store right. To me it's clear what they are doing.
On one hand, they dont want to stop servers because it looks bad on EA/Respawn. There is no way the MP user base is big. It's probably tiny. But by cutting off sales at the knee soon, it'll prevent stragglers buying copies for $5 and playing online and keeping the user base lingering around.
I dont think TF1 is the kind of game with mtx either. So all this server upkeep is more like a thorn in their side with no mtx revenue coming in.
Later on next year, then they'll announce servers will shut down due to low online count. Probably a year from now.
I honestly can't tell if this is serious based on other posts in here lol.I don't know what you are talking about retail stores have unlimited supplies of games and never stop selling a game. I can go to wal-mart right now and get Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 if I wanted to.
Also free to play and GaaS are cancer.

I dont care about SP, and when they patched the game to steady 60 fps this game was gold. Excellent maps. Not a bad one.
Many old games are impossible to get unless you're willing to pay some insane prices. The only way most people can actually experience them is through emulation. Once your physical copy no longer works, you will still be able to emulate it. Digital is the only real way of preserving games. What if I told you about the used copy market.
I get your point and respect it. I'm just a bit jaded about how difficult it is to keep servers running for these multimillion pound corporations? Surely it cannot be that much in the grand scheme of things? It's always chasing the next big hit but some people are happy to play those games…..forever. Once their dollars are in the bank, then fuck 'em, that's the attitude I do not like. What is the lifespan of a multiplayer game then nowadays? 5 years? One year? A few months in Anthems caseSo you'd rather not have enormous amounts of fun playing games for a few years just because at some stage 7 years or so down the track the game will be delisted and unplayable? Really?
PUBG is my most played game every year for the last 4 years and if it got shut down tomorrow I wouldn't suddenly have not enjoyed the last 4 years of playing it.
you've had plenty of time to buy it ffs.The digital future.... Yay... SMH
But physical copies stopped being made 5 years ago or so, and physical copies still won't work when the servers are shut down. That is why Physical is still a good idea as an option. I love digital for the convenience is fast consumption but not so much for long time preservation by digital stores who aren't committed into doing it.
You can still hunt down physical copies and they can cost little to nothing or even exorbitant prices at times though. Once digital is gone, it's truly gone unless the developers have a change of heart which is extremely rare from my observation. What if I told you that they stopped printing physical as well.
Are you dumb or are you playing dumb? But physical copies stopped being made 5 years ago or so, and physical copies still won't work when the servers are shut down.

Exactly.![]()
So maybe what? 3, 4 humans affected by this?
I'm dead serious. You can go to any store right now abs find Titanfall for 360. All stores that sell videos games always sell every game ever. They never have clearances.I honestly can't tell if this is serious based on other posts in here lol.
Amazing game when it came outBut have you seen Titanfall?
Wow.I'm dead serious. You can go to any store right now abs find Titanfall for 360. All stores that sell videos games always sell every game ever. They never have clearances.
digital future everyone digital figure
Digital future scares me tooWow.
Ok you've got to be trolling.Digital future scares me too
No sir, the digital future actually scares someone as optimistic and brave as me. It's crazy.Ok you've got to be trolling.
Without having paid too much attention to your conversation, I think the general point is that if/when the industry moves towards digital-only a removal from digital stores means no purchase at all - game gone forever.Ok you've got to be trolling.
The "digital future" means that games are sold for longer, accessed easier, and you don't have to worry about your disc breaking or becoming unusable. No sir, the digital future actually scares someone as optimistic and brave as me. It's crazy.
March 2022?You can still download it if you have bought it. So go cry somewhere else digital haters.
It's a live service so yeah. What are people expecting?
You're right. It's a multiplayer only game. Live service would indicate that the game is constantly being updated, which it isn't.it's not a live service game... it had 3 standard map pack DLCs and that was it. no Microtransactions, no other monetisation whatsoever, just a Multiplayer game that had 3 map packs released
Despite this, didn't Titanfall 1 do better than Titanfall 2 sales wise? I'm sure I heard TF1 did 10 million+Was genuinely an amazing game. Such a shame it got caught up in the xbox one hatred.
What lasts longer than retail? Retail never dies you just can't kill. People thought toys r us, Sears abs blockbuster we're done before but they still hanging on for their come back. And when they are back we are looking at true game preservation!!!The "digital future" means that games are sold for longer, accessed easier, and you don't have to worry about your disc breaking or becoming unusable.
You can't go into a retail store and buy a new copy of titanfall. They stopped making physical copies like 5 years ago. And despite what you said before, no, you can't just walk in to any gaming store and buy any game you want lol. I thought you were joking when you said that because it's so ludicrous. What lasts longer than retail? Retail never dies you just can't kill. Yeah TF2 absolutely bombed, which is why TF3 hasn't been made. It was in the bargain bin like 2 months after release. TF1 was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better and sold far better despite being xbox exclusive and being the game to hate for the blue rats. There was so much FUD from that camp that even CBOAT got themself banned by spreading bullshit lies to try and talk it down. TF2 just tried to dumb the game down to current trends and popular games such as cod and overwatch. It went hero shooter and 3 lane map design with limited customisation.Despite this, didn't Titanfall 1 do better than Titanfall 2 sales wise? I'm sure I heard TF1 did 10 million+
& TF2 seems to only gain traction and hidden gems posts every time it's £5 and under digitally.
I also thought TF1 Multiplayer was way better myself, the best maps in 2 are all from the the first game imo.
2 I lost interest in VERY quickly, sadly.
They never stop making physical copies not even once. Digital they stop all the time. With physical there's effectively unlimited shelfspace and you can make new copies like out of thin air. Physical is the real future we deserve. You can't go into a retail store and buy a new copy of titanfall. They stopped making physical copies like 5 years ago. And despite what you said before, no, you can't just walk in to any gaming store and buy any game you want lol. I thought you were joking when you said that because it's so ludicrous.
Digital emulation has done far more for game preservation than physical can ever do.
The bolded..............what? You can't be this clueless can you? They never stop making physical copies not even once. Digital they stop all the time. With physical there's effectively unlimited shelfspace and you can make new copies like out of thin air. Physical is the real future we deserve.
Emulation stinks. You know what's better. Going to Wal-mart and buying a real NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, SEGA GENESIS, etc.
