Titanfall Gameplay Footage (Embargo Lifted)

Okay, people who don't like TitanFall and Infamous need to stop entering these threads. You don't like them. We get it.

I'm gonna call it right now. It's going to be useless and they should not have bothered. It probably is just a glorified tutorial.

The tutorial is a singleplayer thing that teaches you how to play. The campaign multiplayer sounds like there is a set path for maps and game types.

Right. That's not balance.

I hope they are extremely weak and largely useless.

Getting steamrolled by one team is unbalanced. Maybe they are making these cards to try and level that out?

Using CoD as an example, once 1 team starts to dominate, the sky is just full of kill-streaks, so you just may as well give up and die. Maybe these Titanfall cards will prevent that a bit.

AI looks pretty bad. Hopefully that gets tightened up before release since AI players will make up the majority of your team.

I verbally squeeled with joy when coming into this thread, i'm sat watching TV with the family... was quite embarrassing.
Thank you for the links fellow Gaffer.

At 23 mins of the GB video Jeff catches the guys bullets and throws them back and the other guy catches them and throws them back at him. Had no idea you could do that but it was really awesome.

looks like 720p and black crush, not much different than cod ghosts on one

That article uses a screencap from a compressed daily motion video from the alpha as it's basis of comparison and then insinuates they're probably lying about the textures being compressed. I hope you're not taking that article seriously.

Graphics are pretty terrible but my god that titan gameplay looks like so much fun. Probably going to preorder on PC

Watching this right now and damn is the game impressive looking. Yeah, some will make issues about the resolution, but to me it looks fantastic whatever the rez it is running at.

So far this seems to be the best footage!

I don't have Xbox One and will end up playing beta on PC, so I don't have much stake in this. But Giantbomb video looks very unimpressive. Pretty much just COD with titans. Also a lot of flatness in maps is bad. What's the point of wall running in this case?

Am I missing something? I'm really not trying to be dismissive. I keep going back and forth with this game. Was hoping for something that was as impressive as that COD4 beta...

Does the COD crowd generally stick to their one game or play more?

Wonder if they will bite on this since it looks like COD with Mirror's Edge like movement.

Looks like people still don't realize this is made by the original infinity ward crew. PC footage looks amazing and the gameplay is fast i like it.

I'm not really impressed with the human ground combat. Seems like all you are doing is beating up a bunch of NPC drone bullet sponges who don't fight back. Of course it will make people like me who are bad at competitive FPS games feel better about myself! Still looking forward to the beta.

Burn cards seem interesting. They don't seem like deathstreaks to me but more of a backup plan. I know I wouldn't ever use an arc grenade unless a Titan is giving me shit so having a burn card in my back makes it so that I don't have to switch classes and just stick with my regular class and use a burn card. That seems cool

The graphics are quite poor. I'm really not impressed. I dunno if its the art direction but the visuals are really putting me off. Oh well, i hope everyone who gets it enjoys it. Looks like it could be fun.

Maps have a lot of verticality. The whole point is that titans are fighting on the ground and humans are fighting throughout the buildings. So it's like two battles are going on at once.

Of course, being able to move between buildings without touching the ground will take some getting used to. But the overall idea seems to be that there are wide open areas for titans to fight in, and humans fight on the rooftops and in the buildings where they are safe from titans.

This is the only reason I am still wanting to try the game at this point. As someone who is not good at mp shooters, it will relieve a lot of stress if I can take down the bots with regularity. Perhaps my stats won't be so horrible, lol.

Umm...I know it's been kind of a joke for a while now, but cod with mechs seems like a very accurate description for this, not that there's anything wrong with that. I just don't know if it's enough to feel refreshing to someone who's burned out on cod already.

The more I watch, the more I kind of feel the same way. I had no idea this game was going to be so small-scale and fast-paced.

Regardless, still think it looks fun and will get the PC version, I just don't think it will be able to captivate me for hundreds of hours like the Battlefield formula can.
