There was a brief moment where in his initial fight with Ulquiora, he wraped the getsua tensho around his sword to basically buff it, and I thought that was an interesting move. I thought instead of him getting stronger, it be him learning to use his Bankai better, but nope. Part of the problem is that all of his enemies are way more powerful then him, so he has to keep getting powerups to get stronger.

Whats funny to me is that we saw hollow Ichigo using his shikai the way he was meant to use it but nothing came from it.

Remember when Ichigo sees Zangetsu use this move

Remarks how awesome it is and he would never think of it then proceeds to never do it.

Ahhh good times

Funnily enough that was hollow Ichigo's move before it was revealed/kinda retconed that he was Zangetsu all along. Ichigo simply copied it, there's a not a single technique outside the one he recently used against Yhwach that he actually developed and used on his own, despite the fact hollow ichigo was displaying various interesting uses of the weapon that he never incorporated, e.g the the chain rope swing.

I'm guessing you get Uryu, Tsukishima, and maybe clock guy if he didn't fall into a plot hole to block/reverse Yhwach's abilities then Ichigo Getsuga Tensho's him.
Well, Tsukishima can make the past be whatever he wants, and Uryu can redirect that past onto whomever he wants. So, Tsukishima can go, "Hey, Uryu, in the past you died," and then Uryu can go, "Nah. Actually it was Yhwach." And that's that.

Is there any chance Studio Pierrot/Jump will bring the anime back?

Wouldn't mind a DBZ Kai remake of the anime actually.

I'd love to see the Soul Society Arc done with more HD animation and less filler.

The "fillerless" remake is honestly a great idea. LOL we can only hope Naruto gets that treatment one day...

Welp, that was nothing. Shout out to Kubo for that Byakuya upgrade and training that has yet to do anything.

Byakuya's upgrade was simple, but dope. I remember when he first used that annihilationscape thing he assured Ichigo that the swords won't attack him all at once. I always thought it'd be cool if he eventually could do that and bam, he does. Too bad it doesn't even kill the guy they're fighting. Fucking Kubo.

Can't believe the worst characters in the series are the ones who are going to affect the final outcome. THE WORST.

I can't help but feel that Haschwalth was supposed to do something before Kubo decided and/or was told to wrap things up.

He was definitely hinted at wanting to secretly overthrow Haschwalt during he and Bazz's origin story. Or at least it seemed that way to me. Maybe it was just Bazz.

I imagine everyone was supposed to do something before someone gave Kubo the wrap-it-up sign.

Remember how the sniper quincy (who became a god bird) fell down to Soul Society?!

Granted I also can't really remember what happened in the fullbringer arc, I thought they were all dead but the two that popped up earlier so safe to say this latest chapter was a surprise (unless the point about it being the soul society and them in the afterlife is actually a moment of sorta inspired Kubo shenanigans).

That's exactly the point, actually. It had already been shown that Full Bringers were in Soul Society and left to help the battle. Although that was very quick and had no follow up at all before this chapter, so it's understandable why some people forgot.

Yes, but he and the giant already got to go double-vollstandig, and I think it's fine that he is beaten by Kira weighing down his chicken heads. Ol' Hashy didn't get to do jack. He used his base power once, and then he died.

Chad is fighting statues

The funny part is I am 99% sure Rukia and Renji had to run past him (or over him) to get to Ichigo and Ywach.

Man I used to think Chad was the coolest. Remember when he was just a really strong guy and teamed up with Rukia to beat the crap out of a hollow he couldn't see? Man, Chad was too rad to end up on the long list of wasted characters :/

Sub_Level

wants to fuck an Asian grill.
None of this series of unfortunate events would have happened if Trump was in charge of running Soul Society. He would have built a wall blocking off Hueco Mundo.

Kubo very quickly converted him into the guy that gets his ass kicked at the beginning of an arc to show off how powerful the new enemies are. It's a shame because it's rare to see a character of Latino descent get any kind of exposure in manga.

Bleach has many many flaws.
But I find it absolutely amazing how so many people can tear Bleach apart but everyone in the Dragonball Super OT worships the shit out of it despite the fact that it's complete garbage in comparison to Bleach.

dude you don't need to go randomly attacking some other show just because you're sad people keep deservedly shitting on Bleach.

But Chad's on whatever the fuck he's laying on and Hitsugaya/Momo isn't doing shit.

Chad is sand surfing, and he was not a bad character, just useless post-SS. Momo is a beloved character to me just because she is permanently associated with the best character in this manga, the one Kubo wrote to be too interesting in comparison with the others. You know, the guy in the chair.

The fullbringers though? That arc was the most filler-like material I've ever read in a manga. It was like fanfic.

At least Naruto had a way that it could end in a satisfying manner. Like putting the characters in a place that readers have wanted to see them. I don't think Bleach can do that, it's destined to end badly. Like what does Ichigo even want? Will it end with him dying and becoming a captain or will he lose his powers (again, but no for real this time!) and go back to normal life? I want to see them do something crazy like letting Aizen win because he's the only way to win and the lesser evil. Just off the wall crazy.

Naruto did learn the ways of the asspull near the end, but Bleach is king of them. I'm expecting something huge. "It was all a dream..." level bullshit. Lol

I wouldn't be surprised if the manga ends with Ichigo going back to a relatively normal life, like the first few books. An epilogue chapter will probably show an older Ichigo as a Soul Society Captain Although, having Aizen somehow winning at the end would be amazing.

Obito
transporting himself from being DEAD to give Kakashi hax sharingan that he of course could control perfectly
was some complete and utter shit. I get Kishi was rushing to get to the end by that point, but hot damn that asspull has absurd.

Bleach is gutter-tier compared to One Piece and Naruto in terms of world-building. It's actually absurd how inferior it is in that aspect.

I wish I could read One Piece, but the art is too unappealing for me to continue read past a few chapters.

Fullbringers came far too late, it would've been fine back when Bleach was still more urban and grounded.

Kubo tried to pull a Yu Yu Hakusho "Chapter Black" but he fucked up by sidelining the human characters for so long that no one cared about them and the captains became the new main group. Chapter Black still had all the major players that everyone cared about and was able to pull off scaling everything down before ramping up again.

Why is everyone outside of the SS living like piece of shit in the slums? Why arent anyone helping them? Iirc SS and the captains never bothered to go to huceo mendo or ,whatever its called, to deal with the core of the hollow source.

Basically the 13 squads are sitting in their high castles, ignoring and abusing the poor souls/people in the slums, committing quincy genocide, and fail to deal with hollows or any threat to SS
I still love how at the beginning of the series when Rukia helps that one spirit pass on or whatever she says what an amazing place they're passing onto in the Soul Society.
Yup, from that modern day life to ancient Japanese slums, those soul reapers are full of shit.

Coming to think of it, if you die anywhere else in the world that must come as a hell of a culture shock, say I pop my clogs in Blighty, do I still go to spirit samurai land? does Japan have dominion over the afterlife?
I shouldn't think too much about the logic of the bleachverse...

Never forget when he beat that afro arrancar with "el diablo" and you almost think "huh, I guess they've decided to make him a lot stronger" only to immediately job to Nnoitra seconds later.

Even the world around ichigo is bland and boring despite having great potential.

Soul society rules culture and people are just...boring. Why are there 13 divisions if there are no regular threats that require them? All the events occurring in the series are unordinary in the history of SS.

There's a joke about the British government here somewhere.

It was that or world rips itself apart so it was for the greater good. Old Man Yama did try call him out on it but he was ripped by Kurotsuchi straight away for failing to kill Bach years ago so it technically his fault

It's impressive how much shit Kurotsuchi gets away with shows how useless and fucked up the Gotei13 is.

This is a manga where wearing magic clothes unlocked the invisible doors to the sky

Someone should have at least asked if there was another way than genocide. No one even blinked.

Did anything become of this? I can't remember he was half Hollow/Reaper but seemed like the hollow process was special to him that went completly fucking no where.

Honestly, he was the real hero of this arc. He's saved more people in this arc than Ichigo.

Yeah. There's more to it, but the short and skinny of it is that that is the "true form" of his Shinigami powers. The Old Man Zangetsu was just masquerading as his Zanpakuto.

American soul reapers have guns, probably. And our Soul Society is Detroit.
Guns that transform into bigger gimmickier guns? I smell a sequel, this series always seemed more popular outside japan anyway.

Yet more evidence that Mayuri is still basically a villain that just gets handwaved as "oh that wacky science guy and his antics!" since he's with the "good" guys by association.

Best captain was probably just doing them all the favour of getting them out of the hellish afterlife that is Soul Society and back to the land of the living.

/QUOTE]

Actually, two reasons why that was almost plausible:
Obito's powers allow him to cross dimensions - why not life and death? Also, he had absorbed some of the Sage of 6 Paths' powers and the Sage of 6 Paths had just crossed dimensions to give Sasuke and Naruto their final power ups a few chapters ago.

A better criticism would be the Giant Space Flea from Nowhere that they're fighting at that point in the first place.

Mayuri is the only Gotei 13 member that actually gets shit done.

They would have probably been destroyed years ago if he wasn't around to save their asses with his hax,

Also Mayuri killed those civilians to save the balance of the world. Yama even admitted he had no problem with it outside of Mayuri doing it behind his back.
