The best way to end the manga would be for everyone to beat Bach and take heavy losses and shit. Then they're all celebrating and get back to Souls Society.

Then they get to where Aizen was sitting. Page 19 of the last chapter is just a full page drawing of Aizen's chair, except it's empty. Then page 20: entire page is black, with only two words: Ban Kai.

Then the manga is over.

Jesus Bleach still hasnt ended? I remember a few years ago I would anxiously await every new release weekly and was excited when they announced it would be ending soon. Thought it was actually heading somewhere, finally. Then I just stopped giving a fuck. Last thing I remember reading was 571.

I...wouldn't mind this

I'm happy, we got another "it's behind you panel!".
People in this series really need to watch each others backs and possibly consider affixing rear view mirrors to themselves.

I'm surprised there isn't a Ichigo (or Renji)flowchart/clock on the Internet somewhere. Dude goes through the same shit again and again.

I think it would look even more ridiculous if you include the filler arcs from the anime. With those you get him having his powers again sandwiched between losing and regaining his powers.

I remember when Renji first appeared and I thought he would be the Vegeta to Ichigo's Goku. How naive I was. Bleach could have been something special.

Given how much Renji jobs you weren't too far off.

Kishimoto stopped giving a shit and just wanted it to end, hence why everything after the Pain arc felt rush, slapped together, and with zero build up. He has no where close to where he wanted to stopped. Quality plummeted from probably the best long running shounen to a terrible fanfic version.

Kubo always knew where he wanted to stop. He announced it several years ago, he was going to have one small arc leading into another big one one(Fullbring to Quincy). He always felt like someone who had a solid outline, but was terrible at filling it in.

This is plain false, post timeskip was largely regarded as a drop in quality for the series and it had been poor for a long while by pain arc. Funnily enough One Piece went through it's own post timeskip woes but for a lot of that period of the ninja war arc it was still in pre-timeskip and was litterally at the apex of popularity, volume sales records were being broken consequetively that obviously still stand today. .

Renji isn't actually that shit comparitively to ichigo. Current's Ichigo's achievements for the arc involve being offpaneled by an elite four (this was a legit loss), and being brought to point of dispair by Yhwach. Renji actually defeated the mask with his powerup and while being offpaneled by gerard certainly has more will power and self belief than Ichigo does, who had completely given up.

Ichigo is weird main character. People say he's not generic shonen idiot but somehow he feels even more generic. I don't know why but he comes off as a nothing character.

He is, now. He used to be more interesting and then Kubo got distracted by, well, everyone else, and Ichigo fell out of favor. So everything that made Ichigo different fell by the wayside because he just wasn't at the forefront of the manga so they could transition to a very poor execution of an ensemble cast.

I completely lost interest around the ridiculous fullbring arc. Did Kenpachi ever did anything relevant after that?

Sort of! He got a backstory, won a fight, and seemingly established Yachiru as his sword (but in a way that doesn't actually satisfy me).

But his bankai reveal lasted a chapter and he sort of just disappeared.

Also at one point he lost an arm but got better.

Kubo fell into a trap of trying to hard to please Japanese fanbase. The push of the captains killed any character progress for Ichigo, Chad, Orhimie, Uryu, Renji and Rukia. Even ichigos classmates where dumped for captains as they ranked high in character polls.

Perfect example is Fullbring arc when Ikkaku, Renji, Kenpachi, Byakuya and Toshiro arrive. The odd one out is Toshiro as the rest helped Ichigo grow in strength and he changed them as characters but Ichigo has had zero interaction with Toshiro but he is a Japanese fan favourite he got shoved in it.

Fullbring arc was best arc since SS, seriously it had no kidnapped plot, fights where quick, humour was brought back, explained what Chad was, it had a mystery, Tsukshima being a cunt more then Aizen turning everyone against Ichigo (the dude sliced ichigos sisters). It ended with nice Ichigo begging for powers back and Rukia scene.

Kubo is weird with Ichigo. Gives him power up after powerup and more backstory but he reacts to everything the same way. Also why give him power ups only to use the basically the same attack?

He was put in a magic healing pod so presumably that's why he has an arm again.

No explanation for Miyuri still being missing, probably taking another brain in with him fucked that up.

Agree with this, with the exception we needed more Rukia and her drawings.

Honestly, if Kubo just focused on Ichigo and his friends, and had the shinigamis as secondary characters, I believe Bleach would have had a better outcome. This is one of the reasons people loved the Substitute Shinigami arc so much: it was simple and yet interesting.

I'm so glad someone else feels this way!!! Fullbring arc gets a bunch of shit, but it really did start off a lot of fun, and had some really interesting moments. Characters were all pretty odd ball and kind of cool, some great bits of art(like Raku or whatever her name is getting struck by "He's hot!") and also Tsukshima was an awesome villian. One of my favorites in manga. His power is weird but interesting, and honestly he only really used it to passively fuck with Ichigo. It was great. Also gave birth to some of my favorite memes.

TBF Toshiro was the capitain Ichigo spent the most time with during the whole Vizard arc, and in the anime their was copious amounts more filler between the two. But really outside of 1 fight he barely knows any of them outside of Renji and Rukia, Kubo funnily enough even mentioned that this arc.

the only way i see Ichigo winning this is if he (Jojo Spoilers)
obtains a power like Gold Experience Requiem. for thos that know, King Crimson has the power to see the future so the user can predict every move. the only way around that was GER's power to negate cause and effect and that basically made it so that King Crimson's power couldn't even be used before GER stomped him. i bet this is what the next Getsuga Tensho will do and then he can off Juha in 1 attack. funny thing is that all this could happen in just 1 chapter or 2.

Too good to be the actual ending.

This chapter wasn't that bad compared to last couple of chapters.I was expecting some stupid asspull to restore ichigo's power but they way it was done is acceptable to me

Me too. It is an asspull but at least with a power that was established before

He is a nothing Ichigo became an extremely boring character after the SS arc. I loved early Bleach Ichigo. The guy was such a lovable punk. After that he became really serious and with a hard-on for protecting people. I mean he always wanted to protect people but that shit increased ten fold to the point where it became annoying.

I agree. I really liked the Fullbring arc. I never understood the hate it got. It was fun and had a lot of classic Bleach in it. I even found Ichigo's fucking badge a more interesting weapon than his boring zanpakuto. Sure Ginjo's motivation was trash but he an Tsukishima were still really fun villains. Ginjo made the biggest dick move in the manga behind Aizen getting Hitsugaya to stab Hinamori and his laugh afterwards in the anime was amazing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X4dRRmSL8Ns

I don't know why Kubo refuses to make Chad and Orihime stronger either. Orihime's powers are straight broken and Chad has a badass arm that could potentially be awesome.

I'm guessing you get Uryu, Tsukishima, and maybe clock guy if he didn't fall into a plot hole to block/reverse Yhwach's abilities then Ichigo Getsuga Tensho's him.

Ichigo is weird main character. People say he's not generic shonen idiot but somehow he feels even more generic. I don't know why but he comes off as a nothing character.

Thing is, Ichigo not being an idiot means he's not even entertaining at a base level. He's just kind of there, giving screentime to every other supporting character while he drops by every 50 chapters to get his ass kicked.

And I really, really hate his stupid despair shtick. He goes through the same arc all the time against his main opponents. Ulquiorra - something about despair and fighting through it. Aizen - Isshin forces his bitch ass not to despair against his godly strength. Ginjo - tries to make Ichigo despair (aren't you hating this word by now?) after taking his powers, Rukia even says ad verbatim, "Despair can't defeat Ichigo!". And now Yhwach.

Yeah, we get it. He doesn't give up against super-strong baddies. But then he regresses back to his bitchmade self against Yhwach, saying "it's over", even though he's been in this exact situation like five times! And in precisely one chapter, Ichigo returns with his 'too cool for school' face.

He's the most repetitive and boring shōnen MC by far. His moveset is pretty reflective of that, too.

I remember finding the fullbringer arc refreshing as hell after the years upon years of stand offs that fuelled like the entire Hueco Mundo and Fake Karkakura Town bits.

Granted I also can't really remember what happened in the fullbringer arc, I thought they were all dead but the two that popped up earlier so safe to say this latest chapter was a surprise (unless the point about it being the soul society and them in the afterlife is actually a moment of sorta inspired Kubo shenanigans).

Oh and as for the Ichigo character discussion, he's boring because he has (in my opinion) no character, I think there was something like a stoic and straight to the point vibe he had going originally but then years of that and nothing more just make him Mr Getsuga Tenshou who wins his fights no matter the broken foe because lead character syndrome.

It's quite amazing how a manga can be consistently shit week after week at this point, and I still have to read it. >>

This whole series has been as big a disappointment as Yu Yu Hakusho was to me. Started off with an incredibly interesting concept that just became nonsense after the great start.

To clarify, Tsukishima and Ginjo did die. But they were humans when they died, so their souls went to Soul Society. They were hinted at years ago, toward the beginning of this arc. Clock guy was with them too, but no one cares about him.

Anyway, legit got excited when Tsukishima appeared because of the dumbness that would ensue.

I think part of what made Ichigo boring is that his trajectory was set after Soul Society. He was a substitute soul reaper that managed to tap into a weird power no one else had and that's what made him capable of standing up to captains and the like, then he beat Byakuya.

Then it's like...okay, now he has this power, where does he go? And the answer is just, he gets stronger. And he isn't entertaining enough for that trajectory to have any weight or arc to it. He's not funny, he's not the underdog anymore, he has no glaring weaknesses, he has no meaningful dynamics with anyone around him, and his rivalries are all over the place so there's not even that "Oh man, I can't wait for the rival fight!" factor.

I have heard some of the movies actually make Ichigo more interesting, or at least more entertaining, but fuck if I'm going to dedicate more of my life to Bleach than is absolutely necessary at this point.

There was a brief moment where in his initial fight with Ulquiora, he wraped the getsua tensho around his sword to basically buff it, and I thought that was an interesting move. I thought instead of him getting stronger, it be him learning to use his Bankai better, but nope. Part of the problem is that all of his enemies are way more powerful then him, so he has to keep getting powerups to get stronger.

To be honest, I half-liked this chapter. Kubo had already set up the Fullbringers to re-appear at some point and it was already established that Tsukishima can rewrite the past, not just memories. And it also sets up the Book of the End as another counter to the Almighty.

What I find it bullshit is how Hashwalth is done for. The guy who broke Ichigo's Bankai wasn't even defeated in a proper fight (not even freaking Vollstandig). The worst of all is that Kubo wasted so many chapters that I can't even blame the editors for pulling the plug.

Even the world around ichigo is bland and boring despite having great potential.

Soul society rules culture and people are just...boring. Why are there 13 divisions if there are no regular threats that require them? All the events occurring in the series are unordinary in the history of SS.
Why is everyone outside of the SS living like piece of shit in the slums? Why arent anyone helping them? Iirc SS and the captains never bothered to go to huceo mendo or ,whatever its called, to deal with the core of the hollow source.

Basically the 13 squads are sitting in their high castles, ignoring and abusing the poor souls/people in the slums, committing quincy genocide, and fail to deal with hollows or any threat to SS
