Tite Kubo's Bleach Manga Nears Ending

Status
Not open for further replies.
Man... remember when Bleach was about a fucking rad teenager and his friends fighting hollows? Remember when it was basically Japanese Ghostbusters?

Remember ASTERISK?!

Kubo needs to draw for someone else.

Seriously, one of manga's biggest failings as a medium is that authors are also expected to be illustrators. Kubo, Mashima, Kishimoto... all mangaka who would be much better suited to drawing say... Hunter x Hunter for Togashi.

Did he ever hook up with Rukia? She was the shit.

Rukia is currently friendzoning Renji, who seems unusually cool with that, and drooling over finally gaining her brother's approval.

Give Kubo a 1000 pages and it'd still be a mess bruh.

Given the circumstances, writing an extremely good cliffhanger is probably the best bet (my terrible attempt):

Chapter 685: Return to nothing, bleach.

Yhwach though defeated, is still alive. Aizen is no where to be found. Ichigo, finally feeling the damage Yhwach has given to him collapses. Suddenly a huge explosion appears, Yhwach's corpse begins to transform and Ichigo stands yet again preparing for battle.

The corpse implodes, revealing Aizen's silhouette. Ichigo asks if it is him, and he says that he has again transformed, thanks to Yhwach. Ichigo begins to leave when Aizen grabs him from the behind on the shoulder.

Ichigo, looking dazzled, asking him why he's doing this. Aizen says that he's confused, and Ichigo doesn't understand. Finally, Aizen says, "... since when where you under the impression, that we were ever finished?"

[ Panels of every encounter between Ichigo and Aizen are shown, revealing that all of Ichigo's fights with every non-hollow character in the Manga has actually been with Aizen. ]

Aizen then says

"Bankai."

[end]

There are plenty of Jump manga that have a different author and artist instead of one person doing both. Shokugeki no Soma, Fist of the North Star, Death Note and Bakuman, Medaka Box, Eyeshield 21, Hikaru no Go, Hell Teacher Nube and To-Love Ru.

I don't know how much it is expected to be like Oda, Mashima, Kishimoto, Togashi, Toriyama etc etc and do it all on your own though.

this was one of the worst ending I've ever seen

Sqad zero were straight jobbers
basically all the the strongest Quincies were only beaten thanks to Ywach absorbing their powers
both ichigo and Ishida lost herrendously to their main villian
^ both their fathers show up and do absolutely nothing besides giving Ishida the asspull arrow tip
Aizen gets straight up jobbed

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I read this for nearly 10 years........

Kubo really should've ended it at the arrrancar arc

The absolute worst ending to a boss battle I've seen

it seems to just be stubborn pride that prevents someone like Togashi from getting someone else to draw for him.

Well they all have assistants. A lot of people claim that Togashi doesn't use assistants but I dunno if that's true. He's married to the Sailor Moon manga-ka and I'm 90% sure she has helped on HxH a few times, but thats just me and others eyeing it.

Holy shit this would be perfect.

Like we'll even see Ichigo end up with anyone at the end.

Its only a regular 15 page chapter, right? (Since Nisekoi was mentioned as having a double sized one, but Bleach wasn't) So like, expect extremely little.

Ichigo x Orihime wouldn't be too bad. Ichigo x Yoruchi/Nel/etc...now that would be a troll move that is bound to piss off both Ichigo x Rukia and Ichigo x Orihime fans.

Yeah, at least Ichigo and Orihime have had a relationship that's been "developed" over the course of the series (at least, as far as developed as any in Bleach can be) and has the distinction of Orihime being canonically interested in Ichigo romantically and Ichigo himself being a bit "softer" with her than he is with literally anyone else in the series, save for maybe his kid sisters.

There's grounds for it, even if a good number of Bleach's fans preferred Ichigo and Rukia. However- to be fair- I always got the impression Kubo was aiming for Ichigo/Orihime myself, so I am admittedly a little biased on the matter.

Eh. Either the final chapter itself starts off with a timeskip and gives a small epilogue to Ichigo and the cast or Kubo will put some other sort of epilogue thing in the last volume or something else for the 15th anniversary.

While these final chapters have totally been the absolute trainwreck I've been expecting them to be from Kubo, I still think he'll try to find some means to put out a general 'epilogue.'

Though, if that does turn out to be next week's final chapter, I'm confident even it will be a bit of a trainwreck and only cover a small portion of the cast. lol

Was about to say.

My guess is he takes a break for a bit, does a mediocre-to-okay one shot, then the trucks of money will come and he'll do the spinoff.

Why would they offer him money for more Bleach? Bleach had a steep decline in popularity and wsj is seemingly putting it down out of it's misery now. His other series Zombie Powder got canned early too

You sure? 4chan isn't saying anything about it, they're just constantly speculating what the ending will be. Apparently the final chapter is next week.

Or is this just the end of the current battle?

This week's chapter was only the conclusion to the final boss battle. Apparently next week's chapter is the final chapter of Bleach.

I was thinking last night, I remember he included in each of the four volumes of Zombie Powder (his previous work) one of his one-shots. I remember thinking some of them were pretty neat, though I can't remember much of them.

One I think involved some girl using runes and tying demons/creatures to them or somesuch. I liked that one. Maybe he'll return to one of those?

Or maybe revive Zombie Powder, that had some potential, I felt (provided he doesn't go quite as character-crazy as he did in Bleach).

If logic ruled in Bleach for once (unlike the entire second half of the series), Ichigo would end up with nobody barring a time-skip. He has development with absolutely nobody, except maybe his goddamn part time boss. Orihime is even more of a plant-eater than Hinata and can't man up any time he could actually respond to it. Rukia got pushed out for a long, LONG ass time. Maybe Riruka? But again, that looked completely one-sided.

Yeah, I can't imagine Jump would er.....jump at the prospect of publishing him ever again unless he managed to come up with something that was really promising.

Maybe he'll follow suit from Zombie Powder and Bleach and do....uh......Dragon Ball with swords.

Ichigo seems almost asexual. Despite their development, he still shows no interest in Orihime beyond friendship if even that. I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo just does it for the fuck of it though. Pairings will be:

Ichigo x Orihime (Because Isshin probably wants grandchildren)
Renji x Rukia (Thanks to Ichigo apparently)
Uryu x Nemu (Because remember they interacted that one time so fuck it why not)
Chad x Brazo Derecho del Gigante
Hitsugaya x Momo (He ain't Aizen but it's better than nothing)
Yoruichi x Urahara x Soifon
Rangiku x Nobody (Because the second best character of the manga is dead)
Kira x Owl

Nisekoi is ending too? Man, the great Jump culling is no joke. What are they replacing all of these series with? My Hero can only cover so much ground.

It's gonna be real sad when it's 2024 and we're all here talking about how One Piece ended up shitting the bed like Naruto, Bleach, and Toriko did. These long shonen series are cursed.

If Ichigo gets a romance in the end, I guarantee you that's exactly how it'll go down.

I can't decide if that opening or the second one is my favorite.

Dat Soul Society nostalgia. Back when the Captains were badass/scary and not just elder scrubs.

Yup. Rock-kun finally chose (well, actually, he made up his mind some weeks ago, and then spent the ensuing time shooting down the others one by one).

About damn time, really. I stopped reading it for a while when key #5 or whatever showed up. Raku handing out them keys like they were candy, I swear.

No idea what'll be replacing both, though.

A friend of mine just sent me this over IM. Was astounded by how large this is:

All things that'll be explained in Bleach:re or whatever that remaster/reboot/redux thing that Kubo announced was!

What a fucking shit-show. This is how to properly ruin a property; by making it incoherent and over-extending your ending. Between the Hollows, half-hollows, Nazi spirit archers, bad dudes with weapons, bankais, shikais, characters arcs, and so so so much more, there was never going to be a way for Kubo to wrap this up nicely. He had 4 whole years to give us a satisfying ending to this shitshow and he fucked it all up by spending months on insignificant battles.

Fuck you, Kubo, you absolute hack.

But the thing about One Piece is that Oda already has the ending planned out in it's entirety and has told all his editors what it is in case something happens to him.

He'll kiss Orihime and then

"since when were you under the impression that I was Orihime"

I think that has more to do with Kubo's progressive habit for draining Ichigo of any real personality. Because one thing that's always kinda stood out to me about Ichigo is how overly protective he gets towards Orihime in particular- and I do remember there being at least one or two moments in the series where the other cast members teased Ichigo about her. Hell, wasn't there a moment Yoruichi trolled the two of them in this arc because of Orihime's new outfit?

But yeah, that list seems pretty plausible, though I think Uryu is just as likely to end up as Uryu/His Hand at this point.

We all know Ichigo will end up with Aizen.

"since when were you under the impression that I was Orihime"

Fuck, now I want this to happen. lmao

But the thing about One Piece is that Oda already has the ending planned out in it's entirety and has told all his editors what it is in case something happens to him.

It's the in-between stuff that worries me.

I'm sure Kishimoto knew that he wanted a final fight resolution with Naruto and Sasuke, but we had to go through 100+ chapters of "this cool villain is actually this lame bit character, now this other guy is the new main villain, except that I'm replacing him with an alien moon rabbit lady that I only just mentioned for the first time a few chapters before she became the main villain and aaaah... aaaaaaaaah... my nose is bleeding..."

I'm sure Kubo knew that he wanted the final fight to be Ichigo vs Aizen at the end of Soul Society, but that sweet Jump dosh kept flowing and now we've got... whatever the hell this is.

I'm sure Shima knew that he wanted Toriko and Komatsu to... er... You know, I'm not really sure what happened to Toriko. It's like some executive just said "Hey, can you make like 8 arcs fit into just one?" out of fucking nowhere.

Shit happens, and it really is a possibility for Oda as well, sad as the thought may be.

One Piece is the best selling manga in the world, it ain't happening. Oda could take hiatus' like Togashi and he'd still be creating One Piece at his pace.

I don't think that Jump even has that much power over One Piece at this juncture.

Now I'm imagining Orihime with Aizen's suave-ass voice. Shit just imagine Ichigo about to nut and saying her name.

"So you think I'm Orihime. Fascinating."

I mean it was only really Studio Pierrot that was pushing Ichigo x Rukia.
They didn't even let Ichigo and Orihime sit across each other in Ichigo's room during the Fullbring arc.

That is true. Didn't they also entirely cut out one or two notable scenes between Ichigo and Orihime at the end of the first arc and early on in the SS Arc too? I can't remember.
