Kubo made 26 villain new characters, 5 members of the zero squad, Yourchi useless brother and the freaking SOUL KING...and barely did anything with them into making these characters compelling, interesting or hell even a personality outside their powers over 4 YEARS and I should feel bad for him.

Hell why wasn't Ishida the 2nd most important character this arc? Or his father and Isshin there at the start...WHY?

We never got to see the soul king's ding dong.

Here's the thing: the answer to "why" is super obvious. He drags things out and did not expect they would be bringing the hammer down on him. He clearly thought he had a few more years.

So it shouldn't be a question of "why" he left all these things to wither on the vine. The real question is how he thought he could get away with making a seven year final arc.

Bleach went off the rails long ago.

He is Tite Kubo, he can do whatever he wants.
Until Shounen Jump got tired of this.

Funny enough even if he wasn't rushed. The manga was clearly coming to a close. Most of these characters were still pointless :p

I think the crazy/hilarious thing is that despite introducing all these new villains, that when it came down to pairing people off for drawn out final fights, he had juggled things so poorly that he had to have Chad just fight off generic statues because there wasn't anybody left at that point.

There were a ton of hints Bleach was ending at this point, looking back. It's Kubo's own fault for not planning this out right.

Everyone thought Squad Zero was going to be after the Elite Sterns. Like, now that THESE guys are down, let's fight Ywach. Oh wait, since he's the Soul King, they have to protect him!

Cue sick fights and bankais everywhere!

NOPE.

Remember when Urahara was heavily hinted to be doing some sleazy shit? And that he might be evil? Dropped.

So much potential wasted. And in the span of 15 pages, we probably won't get to see what happens to the majority of the characters.

We got played.

Maybe he saw Naruto was already two years into its final arc with its end clearly a couple more years off and thought he could get away with spending as much time despite Naruto still being incredibly popular and Bleach having been on a very obvious downfall.

Alternatively, he knows he's probably done with Jump after this point (at the least, I wouldn't blame them for never wanting to work with him again) and will probably have a difficult time getting something new going, so he just intentionally dragged things out as long as he figured Jump would let him get away with it.

About the kids that are living in Urahara store, I remember it was said the girl had potential to become powerful. Guess that is another plot point that was forgotten.

It's literally been noting but asspulls every chapter at this point.

Not that Bleach hasn't done it before, or that shonen manga doesn't lean on convenient tropes, but seriously, no thing has happened in the last few chapters that hasn't been "Oh but you see, I have this convenient thing I probably didn't mention before."

It's the manga equivalent of two kids making up bullshit rules in their make believe game.

In honor (?) of Bleach ending, I have compiled together a list of the best chapter names - because in these times, it would be good for us to remember that Kubo was always crazy and you wouldn't be remiss for thinking he was making Dance Dance Revolution songs instead of manga chapters. I'm not even gonna front, half of these would make excellent band names. I claim Tug Your God Out.

By far my favorite Kubo-ism is putting Part 2 on things that should be definite

One of my favorite moments was during the Ulquiorra final fight, when there was a series of chapter titles based on the Seven Sins, ending with The Lust... and then The Lust 2... then The Lust 3, and so on, until The Lust 8, I believe.

Still, Bleach had the best/silliest chapter titles.

One fun topic on GameFAQs back in the day involved creating poetry out of them.

get some go again
lol manga is ending next week and he spent like 10 chapters on that stupid giant enemy instead on focusing on the final battle. i still can't believe he then killed that giant off screen. what a waste of time.

What the hell is Ichigo's dad even supposed to do? lol. Showed up for no reason, I thought there was going to be some cool showdown and some new bankeyes.

Someone else's post that Tite Kubo is the Zack Snyder of manga really rings true to me. All these big spreads and lavish moments without any of the motivation and drive behind the characters involved.

If Kubo returns to the manga industry, I think he should tackle a new project that has no powers involved at all. Since he seems like a huge fashion buff, maybe something to do with the fashion industry in a similar vein to Shokugeki no Souma. I think this would be a good fit for him as he gets to draw lots of characters and he has to resolve conflicts and drama through characterization and personalities rather than big spreads of swords shattering.

He goes to all the trouble of getting his old uniform on and going to the Soul Society. You'd think he'd have some amazing skill or secret knowledge.

Nah, he's just tagging along. Because he's bored and doesn't have a medical clinic to run or anything.

It kinda sucks that both of Kubo's main villians have no motives other than "MORE POWER" to "DESTROY EVERYTHING"

This arc was suppose to reveal Aizen's reason for hating the soul king and wanting to over throw him. Instead he has a redemption arc but for absolutely no reason. Like why does he want to be a good guy now?

Yhwach is just a psychopath that wants nothing but power and destroy everything.

Remember when Ywach staged an attack on Soul Society so he could visit Aizen and try and get him to join his war

Remember when Aizen said no and Ywach left him in that chair

Remember when Ywach came back down to Soul Society for no reason and then let Aizen out of his chair for, again, literally no reason

I also have no clue why anyone would follow him. He's the biggest asshole to his subordinates.
