The only thing this is missing is pointing out that Ichigo disappears from the manga for MONTHS AND MONTHS at a time in the middle of all this shit.

That period when Naruto, Bleach and OP(though not to the same extent at that time) skyrocketed in popularity in the West felt like the golden era for shounen.
Though, I wonder how much of an end this will be. Naruto apparently ended in 2014 but anime fillers continue in 2016, Kishi wrote an extra volume, a new era was announced with a film and a monthly series with a different team.
The worse thing is there does not seem to be any replacements in the shounen scene. I guess that volleyball series but that feels different.

we now know that a shit-ton of people haven't actually been using bankai apparently. Yama's fight with Bach confirms that they change over time, and now we've got Ichigo, Renji, and Hitsugaya as more evidence that what we've been calling bankai was a jank attempt at it.

Yachiru is just his sword's spirit, because that one shitty anime filler arc with all the spirits of the Zanpakutos come to life is canon now. His bankai was basically nothing. He turns red and is strong, like he usually is when he's not red. It was completely ineffective.

Bleach is one of the most obvious cases of a writer reaching the end of his ideas I've ever read/seen. Everything from the start through the Soul Society arc (what is it, 20+ volumes???) is well thought out or (even for the worst subplots) at least salvageable.
And almost everything since is awful. From one of the better shonen to one of the worst, almost overnight. He just had no idea where to go with the story, but it was popular, so here are some new characters with stupid powers...

I stopped reading Bleach at some point in the Hueco Mundo arc, though I would occasionally open the Bleach thread or read a spoiler here and there to see what was going on.
I still have zero intention of reading another chapter, but it is still an end of an era despite the drop-off of quality and sales for it.
Oh, and Ichigo/Orihime for OTP. It's the only correct course of action (like Naruto/Hinata!).

lol this and naruto were like the things i've followed for ages and i just gave up on this. too much random bullshit all over the place in bleach and i followed naruto till the end so that says a lot
Bleach and Naruto problems are different from each other. But at the end of the day there both shit.
Nartuo had some serious problems at some point but I think at the very least, it finished pretty well.

Yeah true. Naruto kept its fanbase throughout its entirety. Even after the ending the fans are still thirsty.
Bleach declined so chances of further continuations is low. Maybe the anime will come back.

I actually think the anime has a chance of coming out. At the very least, it'll get some OVA's.
Because Zaraki is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Seriously though, Unohana was the First Kenpachi and she fought Zaraki as a kid. He beat her and, Jesus Christ writing this out is pissing me off all over again. He beat her and then began to mentally shackle himself because she was the only worthy fight he's had. So, due to that, she "wins" the fight. So fast forward, they fight again so Unohana can force him to break those shackles he placed on himself as a kid so he can be useful in the War. She kills him over and over and keeps healing him until he's as powerful as he was as a child. She does Bankai which didn't have any explanation on what the hell it does and he finally kills her. Then we have an Inner Monologue/Kubo's Poetry Corner about him being the only man to make her happy and it ends with Zaraki talking to his sword. Basically, her whole entire character was their to prop up Zaraki.
Memory is hazy and I thought it was super stupid but I believe the excuse was

No, that I saw (read a bit after the Soul Society arc). I mean the two guys from school, one had a "gag" that he liked older women and the other was the 'stupid' one.
It really would have happened by now, they have 4 YEARS of materiel to animate since February and yet nothing. The first anime got canned due to low dvd sales and got replace time slot wise by the fucking Naruto SD spin off.
Jump better trying to make an anime with on of there new series to try and make a new hit rather than give Bleach more time.

Aizen one shotted a death ray with his one eye closed, his hands bound, ankles shackled , and stuck to a chair.
Bleach was supposed to end in 2012 but fuck logic. I half expect it to last until December 31st.

The Fullbringers are all Aizen's bankai. In fact this whole arc is Aizen's bankai and there has not actually been any time passed since his fight with Ichigo. He is still there creating the ultimate illusion for him.
