Tite Kubo's Bleach Manga Nears Ending

Are people really surprised by this end result? we had a whole arc where Orihime's dialogue was reduced to "Kurosaki kun" for a reason.

I dropped Bleach years ago but I'm still disappointed by the ending. I've always hated
Ichi and Ori as a couple(they look related)
and the conclusion sounds even more annoying than Naruto's.

Those two better happen...and
ZoroxNami.

Pls. Everyone knows
ZoroxRobin is OTP

It know man Fairy Tails at least in the running. It runs on it's own internal logic of awfulness and probably makes less sense than even bleach does.

I kind of agree but at least FT is giving some sort of sense, while Kubo's literally improvising each chapter's story.

Yoruichi wasn't available so Ichigo went "Eh, you'll do"

lol at Yoruichi and her unexplained relationship with Urahara (besides him turning her into a feral cat)

We need like 30 epilogue chapters to see what the chars are doing 10 years later. Or better not.

Orihime was only truly insufferable (well, comparatively speaking) during the Hueco Mundo slog, when her entire vocabulary was reduced to "Kurosaki-kun" and she did all of nothing for years despite her powers being hyped up to god status.

Yeah, I heard that was the nadir for her in terms of character.

Shame really. She was pretty awesome up to the end of Soul Society. Her crush on Ichigo was a facet as opposed to a dominant aspect, as there was more of a focus on her slightly weird but amusing disposition, and her desire to protect others. Her powers hinted at the potential for some cool barrier warrior shenanigans - which fit her comparatively pacifist sensibilities.

Ichigo and Rukia had fuck loads of chemistry up to the same point as well, and their relationship was the the engine with which the story ran. Why Kubo chose to completely abandon that is just bizarre.

Lmao I haven't seen any shipping in bleach since the rescue rukia from soul society arc, bhahaha what. Also soul King??? Soul King?????? Fitting ending no explanation, kubo style alright. Lmao

Soooooooooooooooooooo Aizen is still in prison? Huh

As someone said before in this thread, despite being chaired again, Aizen is the true winner. Soul King got destroyed, Ai-chan still immortal, laughable sentence of a few thousand years. Just as planned.

And for all the people being surprised that he's confined again, Aizen and Shunsui had an agreement. He was never promised to be freed.

Oh, and I'm very happy Urahara didn't get a single panel. Hopefully the sucker died along with Askin.

I mean, it's weird that Aizen, who is, like, the greatest traitor of all time, didn't try anything while being free? He just came back to his prison?
And since Soul King was destroyed or something, there are no consequences on Soul Society or the living world at all?

I don't understand.

Because he never was truly evil. Was clear for me the moment it was revealed that Hitsugaya and Hinamori survived the confrontation with him at the end of SS Arc.
Further prove is that he did not cooperate with Yhwach and even fooled his senses to buy the Gotei 13 some valuable time. In the end, he even teamed up with Ichigo to defeat Bach and save Soul Society.
If anything, Aizen gave everyone a motivation to become stronger. Had he not done this, they would have been totally unprepared for the Vandenreich invasion.

Aizen was Bleach's true hero all along.

Bleach taught me a valuable lesson to never go down with a sinking ship no matter how much time i've invested in it.

The next time I see a manga drive off a cliff as hard as bleach did i'll jump out before we start free falling.

No no no. That is just not true to his character. He just doesn't give a fuck and because of the pacing we don't get a logical conclusion for him. In the end he always wanted to rule this place himself so of course he wants to get rid of Ywach.

Hahaha haha haha hahaha

I'm so glad I skipped around this Manga and watched maybe half.

And that's watching continuously up to the beginning of the Arrancar arc.

It's honestly the prefect ending for bleach. It fell apart after the Soul Society Arc and Kubo felt a need to give every Captain and Leutentient a fight.

Should've focused on the core group and had an actual plot.

Yeah, that's why he let himself get confined again when they hand him the chance to become SK on a silver platter. Doesn't make much sense.

Zoro has better standards than that. He will let Nami go with Sanji.

At least Kubo should have had the decency
for give Ichigo a daughter and Rukia a boy. This ending is so predictable and boring.

Bleach gets movie even though the manga and anime lost popularity. >. >
The villian will probably be Grand Fisher or Orihime's brother

Exactly my thoughts. The reported live-action film will probably draw from one of the big stories in the first arc or find some way to skip ahead to the SS Arc, since that's the fan-favorite.

How are people still shocked when the female character whose only character trait is "likes the main character" ends up with the main character.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
They'd have to get it out of the ass end of their closet, between the commemorative Obama inauguration plates and the Heath Ledger Joker Halloween costume.

Hahahaha

lol at anyone actually having bleach stuff

where's that guy who would always defend Bleach to the death round these parts? Viking or whatever his name was? Would love to hear him go on about how this ending is actually good

I don't actually have any, I'm just asking the people that do.

Phoenician_Viking, AKA Beam, has been permabanned.
Otherwise, he would have had at least 3 meltdowns in this thread alone.

The worst part is that I started watching Bleach with my girlfriend this past weekend. She is loving it, and I gotta admit I was super impressed by how good it actually used to be, cause it's been trash for too long.

I'm contemplating whether we are going to stop after the FKT arc or go all the way through to the end of the Fullbring arc. Either way, there's no way we are going into the Sternritter/Final Arc in the manga. We will go beyond Soul Society strictly due to the fact that we wanted something pretty long to watch.

The sad thing is that Orihime used to be more than just that. She was the adorable weirdo klutz that loved eating totally bizarre food combinations and envisioned her grown-up self as a killer robot with boob missiles and also had this tragic backstory of having to grow up almost entirely on her own.

But Kubo just flat-out dropped the ball on all of that as time went on. I've always been an advocate for Ichigo and Orihime as the romance of Bleach, because yeah, it's a shounen and all the signs were there- but that doesn't change the fact that he could have done a much better job with their relationship and characters altogether. But really, that extends to the whole cast as a whole.

The girl that calls you kun the most amount of times will be your wife.

It's more that shonen series never have actually really good endings so one that is just decent stands out.

Its because these series are either rushed or become a victim of their own success. Although I think there are numerous satisfying endings in the shounen genre.

Manga endings usually suck because most shounen manga writers write it seat of their pants style, desperately trying to hold on to their readership by constantly trying to outdo themselves until they burn out and just say 'fuck it'. Raw artistic talent is what usually carries them at first.

It's not exclusive to shounen though, shit endings are industry wide.

Well most some actually actually plan out the ending from the start. I'm pretty sure FMA did this and Oda has stated numerous times he's planned fairly near the start how the story ends. which he's not diverging from. The editors even know the planned ending.

No real planning for an actual ending till you have to make one I think is the main reason why that is, since the goal of most shonen series is to last as long as you can to make as much money as you can. Of course there are exceptions.

Yeah I guess that is true. I do think that it is because of the same reason across the board, never really planing the end when you start something and just trying to work it out when you get there.

TBF it's not like it's an easy thing to do, these stories can go on for decades while your adding to it almost every single week. If you plan and ending, after 7 years of weekly additions that plan may no longer even make sense or fit the characters. It's like season based tv series on steroids where you have to put a episode almost every week with no significant breaks to ensure consistency. That's why these weekly shounen's meander and are often completely winged. This is ignores that, this is the best case scenario and you may be forced to cancel it at any point or your manga suddenly loses popularity and your forced to change direction.

It's far, far easier to plot out a monthly manga than a weekly one.

Bleach is a shining beacon of sunk cost fallacy. My goodness am I glad I jumped off this train 5 or 6 years ago. I'd poke in at manga discussions on GAF every now and again to see where things were going and, boy, what a wretched way to end.

Didn't realize the final chapter was already out. And I though Naruto's epilogue was decent but I guess the final arc wasn't too great.

I'll get to this final chapter when I can. Excited to see just how terrible it is and if the reactions here are accurate
