I tend to prefer Manga that doesn't go too far ends where it should. In this regard Assassination Classroom ends exactly where it should and I really love it.

Funnily, Bleach could've been that. Story wise it didn't go very far: Substitute Shinigami days, Soul Society, Arrancar/Hueco Mundo/Fake Karakura (basically Aizen shenanigans arc), Fullbring, and the battle against Quincy. It just draaaaaagged all the way.

TBF it's not like it's an easy thing to do, these stories can go on for decades while your adding to it almost every single week. If you plan and ending, after 7 years of weekly additions that plan may no longer even make sense or fit the characters. It's like season based tv series on steroids where you have to put a episode almost every week with no significant breaks to ensure consistency. That's why these weekly shounen's meander and are often completely winged. This is ignores that, this is the best case scenario and you may be forced to cancel it at any point or your manga suddenly loses popularity and your forced to change direction.

It's far, far easier to plot out a monthly manga than a weekly one.

Yeah I understand that is a problem with the format but doesn't mean I have to like it. It's why I have strayed away from these kinda stories and the only reason I'm here is because Bleach was one of the last ones I was into before stopping with ongoing stuff.

Best Manga Endings/Worst Manga Endings?

Best ending: Uhhh...probably Monster.

If only Shonen I'd say Fullmetal Alchemist/Death Note. They weren't amazing or anything but they were solid enough.

Worst ending: Bleach looks like its up there, but I'm going with Gantz. That shit was TERRIBLE.



When I think about it legitmately good/great endings are incredibly rare, regardless of the medium. Or maybe I haven't seen enough great fictional work

Sasuke's kinda fucked up but I can see where he's coming from for the most part. Kage Summit Arc was just batshit insanity, but after that godawful arc his actions made more sense. Dude was just tired of everything shinobi had created.

I think at the final fight he realised exactly what Naruto thought of him as a friend and that he didn't have to be alone in his struggle to change the world. And that Naruto was better suited for doing it, so he resigned himself to defeat.

The sad thing is that Orihime used to be more than just that. She was the adorable weirdo klutz that loved eating totally bizarre food combinations and envisioned her grown-up self as a killer robot with boob missiles and also had this tragic backstory of having to grow up almost entirely on her own.

But Kubo just flat-out dropped the ball on all of that as time went on. I've always been an advocate for Ichigo and Orihime as the romance of Bleach, because yeah, it's a shounen and all the signs were there- but that doesn't change the fact that he could have done a much better job with their relationship and characters altogether. But really, that extends to the whole cast as a whole.

Oh man, that image is bringing all the early Bleach memories back.

Eh Aizen locked up isn't that crazy Mayuri was a dick but he never actually outright went against SS which is in itself is very dodgy. What's exactly stopping Aizen from pulling a yhwach if he was free, he helped them for mutual benefit not like he had a sudden change of heart. The strangest part s that Aizen allowed himself to get captured again in the first place.

There was an extra chapter showing the day Naruto was made Hokage. His daughter activates her Byakugan and punches him in the balls, knocking him out for a few hours and forcing Konohamaru in disguise to take his place at the ceremony. I think it even got animated as an OVA.
