Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Official - Operators Gameplay Trailer

haha, true for me too.
But i think the game will look fine. They're testing so that everything will run well at 60 fps. Then when everything runs as it should they will start adding stuff to make it look better.

It will look good enough to enjoy.

Great to hear. Since BF:H looked fine to me (didn't enjoy the gameplay tho) my standards are probably low anyways.
If Ubi gets it to run in 900/60 on my X1 I'll buy it twice

Just watched the footage, this and Division are the first AAA games from Ubisoft I have been interested in for years.

I wish Uplay was dead and buried.

if ubisoft don't fuck this or division up then they are the undisputed champs of this gen for team based shooters.

I don't want to extend the excitement to The Division. That has shown plenty of signs of being a typical Ubisoft open world game. Rainbow Six Siege meanwhile feels far removed from Ubisoft's recent design philosophy. I'm more on Ramenman's side of separating both games' hypes.

Yeah and also please people don't lump in the Division with R6. R6 looks great and like an actual game that exists :P

In the 2 years we've known about the Division we've seen like 2 super shallow gameplay demos and nothing more (aside from pretty graphics sure), this can't be right. It amazes me how The Division is generally exempt from the typical "ubi skepticism" when for me it's clearly the game that warrants it the most in their line-up for this year.

Rainbow Six: Siege summed up in one gif:

You're not wrong.

I do give Massive some leeway though as this isn't Ubisoft proper.

Lets talk heartbeat sensor.

This was available in the older games but was not overpowered. For one, it reduced your FOV to nothing, it took a couple of seconds to equip and unequip so that it wasn't something you could use to wallhack easily. There were also countermeasures that could be used (jammer and pucks that threw off false signals).

It also had a very limited range, so you could only pickup someone really close.

Basically it was used to counter camping in long Team adversarial matches where someone would turtle and camp to call a draw.

The new one doesn't look like any of these and quite honestly looks very CoDish. I hope its not OP.

I hadn't thought of the camping aspect. I'm curious if that's even an issue in these types of maps, though. The thing needs a drastic nerf in it's current state.

From what they say on the Operators page for the character that uses the heartbeat monitor they are already trying to balance it. It shouldn't be too difficult, just give it a cooldown, limited range and make it a little slow to equip/unequip.

I personally think they need to revise it completely, Maintaining mobility and having enchanced situational awareness is a bit over powered.

My thought is that they replace it with maybe 3 monitors you can set up in the map, and have a device that could cycle the feeds to the player, but while they are looking at the feed they can't move.

There has to be a draw back to this, besides someone on the attacking team has emp grenades.
