The cuts are baffling. Why cut these OG bangers with some Spotify trash? Too mainstream or not enough budget?

Could be a lot worse. Not my favorite King Gizzard track, but cool to see their music in a game.

I had already checked out of THPS by the time these games came out though so no real nostalgia for the original OST.

Apparently the Switch 2 version is the Switch 1 version with a free update patch. And I see it being 10€ more expensive on Amazon

Was planning on just playing this on game pass, but I've heard the Switch 2 version looks and runs really well (unlike the Switch 1 version of 1+2) and this is exactly the type of game I'd want to play on the go… hmmmmm

I mean, if you already have Game Pass you could still check it out just to see how you feel about it. But it sounds like the Switch 2 version may be the one for you, especially if you play on the go semi frequently/frequently.

OST got butchered mostly, for punk fans at least. It's wild to see Jeff Rosenstock on it though, really happy for him - he's one of the nicest dudes.

Yeah, I'm positive it's all because of licensing nonsense. At least some tracks remain. Realistically, it could've been even worse.

hah, this is kinda cute. The banners are all laid up like a TH trick. (not my pic)

Assholes couldn't even spring for a game-key card on Switch 2. I'll maybe grab this on deep sale.
That's why I was a bit confused by people going against game key cards, this is the better option compared to codes in a box, like this game or Split Fiction, that you cannot even sell.

Wow they really did butcher the OST. At least CKY, Bodyjar, Adolescents and Toy Dolls are still there. This stings more than 4 not having a career mode

wait... TNT is missing? wasn't that essential the theme song of THPS4?

pretty sure TNT was the first song you hear in the main menu of THPS4, and they don't have it in this? are they fucking insane?

Game is really great from what I played and contrary to earlier posts it has a dope intro and If You Must by Del The Funky Homosapien. The most amazing thing is how it brings the locations of Tony Hawk 3 to life with NPCs and gap triggered interactions. THPS 1+2 did not put in this much work in bringing the locations to life. New soundtrack has a handful of awesome new tracks to my surprise and while it may fall short in authenticity it delivers a good variety.

Currently stuck on 3's new Cruise Ship goals. Missing the bikini clad Neversoft girls in that level. Skaters judging your skills just does not have the same appeal. I am going to probably get to 4's levels tomorrow. I am pretty excited.

So, "new game" but less than the previous ones. Is that correct?

Also heard it's a character action game now, as it's a game, with a character, and action movement.

ACDC are the worst when it comes to game music licensing. Remember when they wouldn't allow any of their tracks in guitar hero and instead they would only allow an ACDC separate version of the game.

shocked holy shit GIF

This game is insane. Just when I finish all the goals and gold medals in both sets of levels Pro Goals appear. I am just happy I do not need to do any crazy challenges to unlock a secret character like in THPS 1+2. Now where are those panda plushies! 😅

P.S. This remake has a unique interpretation of THPS4's levels. The Kona Skate Park and Zoo are relegated to competition levels (with a pro goal each). Carnival and Chicago are replaced by Waterpark and Hollywood Studios. Also has a Pinball level...

P.S.S. The Jack Black cameo in London is better than anything in the original THPS4. :pie_roffles:

What is considered finishing the game? getting all the score goals on each map, or doing ALL the challenges?

Because some of the challenges are annoying as fuck, I end up doing 50 minutes trying to do some bullshit that require you to combo sketching from car to car.

What is required for the credits?

Nice to hear man. Going to be grinding up the parks myself today!

Any word on music restoration mod?
As Tony said, go connect your spotify list. I dont understand the hate its getting for the OST. For one, we know how messed up dealing with licensing is and two, Im actually glad to hear new music because thats how I discovered all other artists back in the day. Game is awesome and fun, the fact people are refusing to buy it because its 70% new OST baffles me. I didnt come here to listen to a game I came to play and its great at that.

Totally agree.

Personally I'm rather happy they lost/removed Alien Ant Farm from the OST.

AAF recent album was nice! I never cared much for these licensed soundtracks tho. Only a couple of songs I tend to like. THPS2 has my favorite.

Pretty fun so far. About what I expected but nice to see the minor graphics and lighting upgrades. Music changes are not even on my radar at all. I'd rather hear something new than another 30 year old nostalgia trip personally.

I'm having a lot of fun with the game and looking forward to getting the platinum. I'm trying to tackle one big objective each day (all gaps, etc.) and I'm done with the first few levels.

THPS 1+2 was perfect, but THPS 3+4 feels hastily put together in comparison. That said, it works for me because it's basically the 1+2 2.0 with the same engine and mechanics. Still, the game feels like it could have been much more. Sure, the OST is missing some classics, but the game is lacking even in the Special Tricks department.

I actually looked forward to the structural change since I never loved THPS4 much when it first came out. After replaying all the levels, I can see why I never loved the original. Most are cramped with poor visibility. I think changing it to the 2-minute format breathes life into what I considered the weakest of the original four titles, but that's pretty much it, it doesn't do a lot for it for me. 3 new levels and I still think it is the weakest part of the bunch.

My main memory of THPS4 was not enjoying it as much as the other games. I remember using Jango Fett with the jetpack to quickly grab all the collectibles and basically rush through it. Back then, games came out so quickly that we moved on to THUG right away, which I played for a full year.

Despite these issues, I can't wait to get more intimate with the THPS4 levels and see if I can find that spark I missed. Perhaps Free Skate, All Gaps, Get There's and Score Challenges will reveal something I missed before.

Had some fun with 3 yesterday. I remember playing one of the games decades ago for a little bit - but can't even remember which one so there is only vague nostalgia about collecting S-K-A-T-E, and having a huge combo fail on the last trick.
I played through the tutorial, then my daughter played through the tutorial, then my son played through the tutorial. Taking turns making fun of how shit we each were.
Then I played a bit of the first and second levels.
