Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Website Shows countdown to March 4th, 2025

i played the skatepark map in black ops 6 last night and there was a date on a wall in that map too, not sure if the same date. strange coincidence. gotta say i don't really feel good running around a skatepark map with guns shooting and killing other people, the vibe doesn't match, almost like they want people to fantasize killing skaters or something.

I'm very excited! Part 3 is my fav of this awesome series of games. Sad that I am excited to play remasters of games that are from generations past in gaming... Bring it the fuck on!

This sentiment sums up the majority of my wish list with Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Suikoden 1+2, Lunar 1+2, Pathologic 3 (a character specific retelling of Pathologic 1), MGS Delta, Dragon Quest 1+2 and now this.

Yeah I am pretty much in the exact same boat my friend.
 
THPS 1+2 was basically perfect, arguably the best THPS ever released. so they have big expectations to fulfill I think. and I hope they succeed.
 
I'm a little hazy on 3+4, I'm sure I'll remember them when I play them.
But 1+2 were definitely the stand outs for me.

i can't remember anything from 4 but 3 was great. cruise ship was my favourite level.

2 is obviously the best one. 1 is OK with some great levels but most people didn't play that.
 
Not like it was secret. Would be better if he had more detail. Hopefully june xbox shadowdrop is real then. I recently bought 1+2 for steam deck(already beat on ps5 at launch). Its still such a fucking great remake

Considering the game will most likely have official announcement tomorrow the rumor about June shadowdrop wasn't true. There might be a chance it may still be released this June though. THPS1+2 was also announced the same year it was released

Shadowdrop doesnt mean just reveal and release. I wonder if they could say now just "summer" and then drop during event. Last one was announced with summergamefest and released in september i think, so would be similiar gap as here

Is this confirm to be a standalone title? I'm low-key hoping it's DLC, that way we could potentially build up towards the ultimate Tony Hawk game. Hundreds of songs, dozens of levels…

However, I'm just glad we get more Tony Hawk… cannot wait!!!

Tricky has a good vibe and some great tracks, but yes, it did age a bit badly, especially when compared to SSX3.
Not being able to do "manuals" (nose / tail press) to keep your combo is really limiting the combo factor of the game, it doesn't feel as intense as SSX3, and it's more up to luck to always land on the rails perfectly to keep a combo kind of going for a little bit.

On Tour however, I never understood how people can enjoy it, I find it really terrible.
I tried to play it again like a year ago, and no, I can't. The trick system is abysmal, huge downgrade from both tricky and 3, you can't do anything, it's always the same tricks with the stick, and worse than that, everytime you do an uber trick, the game slows down with a slow motion mode, completely killing the pace, and the camera is terrible, quite often positioning itself under the character, showing you your character from below, so you can't even see how far you are from landing. It's completely stupid.

I'd really prefer it to be a new game, because it would (hopefully) mean more new stuff instead of just new maps. Especially with how different THPS4 is, with the career mode with missions, NPCs etc, if it's just a DLC for 1+2, we wouldn't have that, we would just have maps, I think.

However, something that could be cool is that if you own the previous game, you could have the maps in the new one too, kind of like hitman games? (I think...? It's really a mess how hitman manages its dlc and all the different editions, so I definitely don't want for THPS to become as confusing as hitman. But basically there could be a dlc for the maps from the previous games, and this dlc would be free if you do own the game already). I don't believe this will be a thing though, but it could be great.

So far the closest thing to what you described is Thug Pro on PC, a mod for Underground 2 doing exactly that, all maps from all games, with online mode.

I remember back on the PS3, there was a Tony Hawk HD that was basically a greatest hits of 1 & 2, but it later received a Tony Hawk 3 DLC that included the Revert (so it expanded on the gameplay).

I could see them do something like that. However, I'm okay with a new entry too, since it allows them to tweak things further in terms of physics, gravity, etc.

I've seen videos of THUG PRO and I'm hoping to get around it too in the future.

Will be stand alone, a complete collection of 1,2,3,4 and Thug 1&2 would be insane but.

As long as they keep remastering them I'll keep taking them at the moment even if it's seperate it's well worth the entry price.

and what a piece of crap it was. the fact that they successfully turned the ship around with THPS 1+2, after THPS HD and the even worse THPS 5, is a real achievement I'd say.

THPS HD was literally just a downgraded version of THPS 2X 😭

Not so sure anymore, considering they are going back to or continuing to remaster THPS 3+4 after at first abandoning it, I feel like since this is Activision they will do the same as with COD. One hub, except 3 and 4 will be added just like you can choose if you want to play 1 or 2 maps. Also keeps it under same engine so its way more streamlined and i am totally fine with that.

After that? Highly doubt we will get any other remaster, if success continues they will make a new title. THUG wasnt bad but it wasnt that great either, same with the ones with Bam etc. From the 4th title, the franchise started dropping in sales.
 
First of all that PS360 HD game was trash. I hated it.

Honestly i'd rather have a PS2 classic of this game. Though it might be difficult to do for various reasons. But in essence the last collection was already TH3 on TH1 and 2 stages. They revamped the gameplay so that it plays exactly like 3. This is one of the reasons why TH3 is the series highlight.

But in all truth I did prefer how all these games looked on original hardware (well Dreamcast for 1 and 2).

I have no idea why you put that soulless X360 SSX there, but I forgive you for the temporary insanity. I wish we can get once again a game like SSX3. That game was so insanely delicious with its soundtrack and the cool differences between the three peaks. Not to mention how you could ride all the way from the top to the end. That powder snow in Peak 1 and listening to Fatboy Slim was peak PS2 for me.
