Too many TMP Files on Windows

So lately I have had an issue.... for some reason, a shit ton of TMP files are being generated on my system.

They all start with DMI followed by random number/letter combos and a .TMP

DMI3FN6.TMP for example.

- Virus scans do not tun up anything
- System startup apps are normal
- Have not installed anything new/odd of late

This is a Windows 8 system that has been running flawlessly for months now. The problem is that these files are slowing my system to a crawl. I just ran CCLeaner and it found 37000+ of these files and they keep multiplying.

Anyone heard of this?

I managed to get the files off and they stopped repopulating (still no idea what happened) for now.

Was wondering what the "java" thought may have been?

I do have Java on here I believe.
