Eh, tropes aren't a big deal. It's all in how you execute them, that's always what it's about. Better execution and SAO could have been great, same with Naruto. It's all about what you do with the tropes, not which ones you pick.
All in all, that's a damn good list of anime.
Shikamaru is totally a Gary Stu, but still my favorite character in Naruto.
If something like hellsing got on toonami and its an hour then its very likely blood trail ova will be on there eventually

the thing about a character who's a Gary Stu or overpowered or whatever you wanna call it, in my opinion, is execution. do they go about doing things in an interesting way? and i haven't watched Hellsing much, but with a character like Shikamaru the way he wins battles is frequently pretty clever and fun to watch. that's the difference between him and a guy like Kirito, who just sort of wins to the point where it's actually boring.

Alucard is always ALWAYS entertaining to watch, almost all the characters in hellsing ultimate are entertaining, but you will always love it when alucard is on screen

Sorry, Schrödinger is male.
I wouldn't call him a Gary Stu. He's fun,but he's also a mass murdering psychopath. The most sane character in the show is the major, and the only good character is the captain - and they're both Nazis. Not counting Seras because she never really understand what's going on. All the characters are fun, though.

looking at the tv guide, tonights episode of black lagoon is awsome, but thats not saying too much because the whole series is fucking awsome

Damn right, another great example of why dubs are amazing that should be used when the "herp derp dubs suck" brigade comes to town
They have much more range then they usually showcase.

i generally tend to prefer dubs since i'm not great at reading subtitles while also paying attention to the visuals

The Japanese voice actor is simply great, and I find the fake accent and nonsensical use of German words in the English dub extremely distracting. Then again, there are also random phrases in terrible broken German in the original for no good reason.

Clone Wars as a whole is by far the most inconsistent show on new Toonami. You can watch a random 5 episodes and think it's one of the best animated Star Wars shows ever or watch another random 5 episodes and think it's the worst thing to ever air on the block.
Clone Wars is getting a huge benefit by airing at the same time as BtB.
"Clone Wars looks awful!" Batman looks worse.
"Clone Wars is too kiddy!" Batman is aimed even lower.
"Clone Wars is shaming American Action Cartoons!" Batman makes clone wars look like Avatar:The Last Airbender by comparison.
Even better if Green Lantern shows up later. Green Lantern is ten times the show BtB is but it looks even worse.

I hate to agree but it is a pretty shitty looky show with good writing and voice acting.
