Honestly you could make a filler/canon movie focused on the last two crest of blood spots that haven't been shown assuming Milos is one of the 3 locations not shown in the manga/anime.

More than just 3!

Well this film is called Fullmetal Alchemist and yet the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother have barely been in this movie and honestly feel minimally involved in the plot at this point.
Yeah, I think it takes a while for the film to remember to bring Ed & Al back into the main plot, which I think should be soon.

One could argue so far, Shamballa had a bit more focus on the brothers in comparison due to the plot revolving more around Ed.

This movie reminds me a lot of DBZ Wrath of the Dragon, an original story that stars mostly original characters in an established world where the established characters feel like the supporting cast most of the time.

There's quite a few episodes of Brotherhood with very little Elrics, so its not that odd.

I think you were thinking about the story far more the then the actual mangaka who wrote it. I think when the editors slapped him and said "explain this shit before you end it" we got the final volume of the manga/OVA being 90% exposition to try and explain things which ended up being more confusing then had they just left it unexplained. I really do think the mangaka just wanted people to see gore porn and action and the story was just a flimsy excuse to see London turn into a river of blood and shonen battles.

That's the sense I've gotten from a lot of fiction I've consumed recently (I've put more thought into this than the authors). Making gun porn is fine but being able to understand the plot without Wikipedia open or some shit is the bare minimum for decent writing. I'm not demanding complex character arcs or whatever, just for logical consistency, for things to make sense and for no huge gaping holes in the narrative.

Hellsing never seemed to be anything other than spectacle and ridiculous ultra-violence. That's what made it fun, though. It's also why I find it odd when people recommend it to anime newcomers. I can't imagine it being right for anyone unless you're in the mood for a bit of the old ultraviolence.

Ultravoilence was what helped make anime popular in the West starting in the late 80s and Early 90s. That appeals to people in a way similar to Transformer movies. "Popcorn fun" and what not.

For sure, Shamballa did focus on the characters it needed to focus on, it was just trapped in the hell of trying to wrap up a BONES ending. I feel like Star of Milos would have been better received had their been multiple FMA:B based movies and this was like the 4th or 5th one that focused on original characters as opposed to being the only film.

I know this is Non-Canon as fuck but it makes Shou Tucker an even bigger jerk. Kratos had Talking Chimera for a long ass time!

It also begs the question of what the hell Cretan alchemy is based on. The only alchemic powers that we know of in canon (Amestris and Xing) were taught alchemy by the Eastern and Western Sages, respectively.

I assume that alchemy from Amestris or Xing inevitably leaked outside.

They probably got it by osmosis considering they share a border with Amestris. Stuff like that doesn't stay in one place without a reason, like the desert keeping Xingese alchemy out of Amerstris and vise-versa.

The difference is the actions of those other characters have impacted the brothers journey or were sparked by their journey. Nothing in this film feels relevant at all to the brothers journey to get their bodies back. It really feels like their dicking around at this point instead of focusing on their actual mission.

I wonder if this star is sacred to Milos.

......no, I'm not hinting or teasing, I have very little memory of this since it's been many years.
