Toonami is BACK

Too true. For full Toonami effectiveness you need the weekday afternoon block and I don't really know what's long-running enough to fill those shoes. Fairy Tail? Soul Eater?

Cartoon Network's weekday afternoons are already full, though.

Really, their current action block would be great for Toonami. Young Justice, Thundercats, Clone Wars, etc. But I think they want to go for an audience that skews a bit older, hence being on Adult Swim.

Six shows only?

Bleach
Naruto
One Piece
Fairy Tail
Gintama
Toriko

Make it happen

Gintama and Toriko wouldn't be on since they don't have dubs, although Gintama has a subbed DVD release and the movie will be dubbed. Although I do expect them to air the movie for some reason, since whoever's releasing it on DVD is using the movie's dub as an indicator on whether they should do a dub of the series.

Six shows only?

Bleach
Hajime no ippo(it's crime that there exist anime viewers who haven't seen this)
One Piece(funimation version)
Hunter x hunter(if you thought yu yu hakusho was good then you ain't seen nothing from togashi)
Gintama
Toriko

Make it happen

there fix that for you

on second thought I don't think gintama jokes would translate that well over

That didn't stop them from airing Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo after it was dubbed. I also hope they re-air Bobobo with it's recent series Part 1 DVD release and soon Part 2 release.

Man, that does sound like exactly what would be on Toonami anyway.

Hell, just dress what's already there in Toonami and I would be happy.

New: Toonami's Back, Bitches
Anime and action returns May 26th. Be sure to save the date... and every Saturday night after that.

Take that for what you will, in terms of what could be on the lineup.

If it's airing in less than 2 weeks, wouldn't the schedule on TV Guide be final by this point?

No, [as] is very good at keeping schedules hidden to whenever. That's how the Toonami airing on April Fool's day worked so well. And although I'm not looking at the TV Guide schedule now I think it's just taking what shows they know are on and putting whatever airs up until next week in the blanks. (But making FMA:B into just FMA.) I think there was three Bleach airings too which is just wrong.

Owning these really dampens my excitement for the block. Soul Eater could work, the more to see it the better even though its many years old.

Shonen is all Toonami ever aired.

They aired Sailor Moon and Hamtaro.

They've got like the episode description for new episodes of Bleach though.

So 4 of the new shows are airing after 2?
Man, this is worthless.

There'll be six shows in the 3 hour block (Aired from 12 to 3 and repeated 3 to 6), and three of those will probably be something thay aren't normally airing now since they kept their places blank. And the new show(s) will probably be on right after Bleach since they like to block their premires together

I believe it was Sony that put the show in trouble, not Adult Swim.

Man, this is worthless.

Not exactly.

Code:
Bleach 12:00 ET
?????? 12:30 ET
?????? 1:00 ET
FMA 1:30 ET
?????? 2:00 ET
Bebop 2:30 ET

Then repeat.

That's not the Toonami schedule. It's the current AS schedule. I'm hoping that Toonami will adopt/save anime of AS after years of neglect.

Doesn't seem like it, the line-up changes on the 26th

This is cool and all but i don't honestly think i would watch it now that Anime is so accessible with Hulu ,Netflix and other Internet options. Toonami was great because at the time it first came out Anime was so hard to get and you also still had to deal VHS and DVDs of series that had 3 episodes for $30.

I just don't know man............

Going by: http://www.adultswim.com/schedule/onair.html

We clearly see the Saturday lineup changing on the 26th, which is when Toonami returns. It shows the following 3 hour block.

Code:
Bleach 12:00 ET (premier)
?????? 12:30 ET
?????? 1:00 ET
FMA 1:30 ET
?????? 2:00 ET
Bebop 2:30 ET

And then the block repeats.

So we know half the line-up at this point.

I'm gonna stick this in the OP unless there's something I'm not seeing.

That's right as far as anyone knows, and hopefully we'll know the blanks after [adult swim]'s Upfront which starts in 20 minutes or so.

No reason they couldn't arrange a dub that would premiere on Toonami. Hell, that would be incentive for people saying how accessible anime is these days to check it out. Just get some kind of contract between AS and Funi/Sentai and it could work.

Fingers crossed for Gundam Wing.
I used to come home from 6th grade and watch that show every day, haven't seen it since.

That is possible, but it won't happen for a while at least since a dub hasn't even been annouced for either series yet. And they'd probably air the dubbed Gintama movie first since they're using it as a reactionary piece for any possible dub.

They can't do it in 1.5 weeks.

It's had multiple levels of censorship applied (Japanese Kai was censored from the original Z, then Nicktoons censored it even more), though not as badly as the Toonzai version.

I don't see the problem. Blue Popo is the best Popo.

I thought Hajime had no dub?

It has a dub. I just started watching it the other day, actually. Not great but not ear-splittingly terrible either.

Heh, I always went with ANN, and they never said anything about an English version. Just checked with Amazon, and you're right. What a delightful surprise.

I'm expecting Toriko.

Still doesn't even have a dub annouced, so not for now at least.

And for future predictions I'm thorwing in Hunter X Hunter. Because I just bought the first 21 volumes of the manga today, after buying the first 7 a few months ago.
