I might have read some bad translations or simply didn't understand. It was so damn confusing, imma be honest and say I zoned out a lot of the origin shit. The story had gotten to a point where I was confused as hell.
Thought he was literally her son who used a bunch of intricate schemes to revive his mother. Basically he was the brain of it all and even more on top of it than Kaguya. That's the way I understood it at the time

From 15 years of [adult swim] viewing, I can tell you that this is a short-term solution at best. Tolerance toward the TV content builds up very quickly.
