....oh right, so uh, that random sound that people were wondering about during the ToonamiGAF podcast. I got a notification on my phone, & I have it set to the Mega Man "teleport" sfx from the NES games.

....be glad it is something that I (or others) don't hear often compared to my father's "DUN DUUUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN" crap which I hear multiple times per day.

Today, Zonic publicly admits he uses the "DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN" sound effect for calls from his dad.
No, that's my dad's text alert sound on HIS phone.

I prefer keeping my text alert sound to about a second because he always seems to have ones that last 3 seconds, which is even more annoying when he gets multiple notifications at the same time, so it repeats the first half second of the sound. It's part of the reason why I was growing tired of using the pause sound from Street Fighter 2 on SNES, especially when I can quick read the text or notification faster than the duration of the sound clip.

Yes, that one. Half the time it goes "DUN DUUU....DUN DUUU.......DUN DUUUN DUUUUUUUN" because the text message he gets will be split into 2 or 3 messages.

Either way, I'll need to remember to mute my ringtone the next time I partake in the podcast, but it seems to be tradition that someone's phone goes off at least once per episode.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Alright, caught up on last night. Hopefully that's the last time I get a power outage like that for a while.

Now to watch the latest One Piece on Crunch- It's not there. No episode aired. Hm.

EDIT: Also, this for Toonami 2017

So we reviewed Fusion Reborn this week and it was...decent? Like, it moved pretty well, but in a way it kinda demonstrates the things that I think are the least interesting about DBZ, because it uses the different transformations as a way to change things up. Super Android 13 actually seemed like an overall more successful implementation of that, since it mostly used characters and fighting styles in addition to transformations. Still definitely one of the better DBZ movies, though. It's weird to think we only have three more to go plus maybe some of the specials. We're planning to post the actual DBZ reviews on Youtube soon through the Show Rundown channel.

"Sorry, Internet, but we liked that new Ghostbusters movie. We review it later in the podcast, but not before Tim does his best Steven impression, we lament the lack of movies for us to get upset about, discuss what constitutes a "crazy hot dog," and imagine Jigsaw as Mr. Rogers. Then we complain about the Emmys, remember when we both used to play card games for some reason, and contemplate stealing Wu-Tang Clan samples. Other topics include the mini NES, the USA Network formula, Chris Hemsworth in Star Trek, The Daily Show post-Jon Stewart, dinosaur roars, and why Donkey Kong 64 is awful. Oh, and we review Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn."

DBZ Ranking:

Just a reminder that this is a show about child soldiers giving a military escort to a diplomat so she can try to end their economic oppression.

Anime.
The diplomat is also a child who had her own father sell her out and they are currently negotiating safe passage with the outer solar system space mafia.

A Gundam series attempting to wrestle with something complicated is actually trashy all along?

Say it ain't so. Tomino would be displeased.

Wait, we're just beating up Gundam Pilots? Doh...

Anime.

I mean, M.A.S.H is a live action adult drama (and novel) that takes place in the 1950s during the Korean war, and most of the episodes have some form of "How can I get laid?" or they constantly go on and on about how hot women are. And that's about as far away from anime as one can get.

In a way, I feel this is more along the lines of slightly more honest showing of how animators and designers just love a bit of sexy exaggeration. Even in western animations, it's obvious that cartoons love sneaking in some female form appreciation in any way they can. Not so common for guys, though.

I think the only reason people remember Atlantis is that it's a rip-off of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water

Atlantis: "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" run through Google Translate!

I also had no reason to hate on Treasure Planet... I enjoyed it for what it was, too. Felt like something like "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" or "Visionaries"; never a top tier anything, but I'm glad I know it existed.

Bah, I want to buy a wall clock for my apartment, but it's hard finding ones that're unique/not generic & bland like you'd find at Walmart or Kohls. Amazon is......mixed, but so many look like cheap, unattractive looking, self-made stuff.

The most memorable thing about Treasure planet is that it was more forgettable than Atlantis.

Both were good... I think?
I've heard they're the very definition of "okay". Not bad by any real means, but they're those movies you'll forgot not long after you watch them, which is perhaps the worst type of movie. You'll remember something that's bad & learn from it, but a forgettable film doesn't do anything wrong, but doesn't stand out either.

It is time for a new end of month avatar. Only rule is it cannot get me banned/lose avatar privileges. First one wins but I probably won't be able to change it until tomorrow night.

Atlantis is far from the worst Disney film (Chicken Little) and while it's not the most forgettable Disney film either it is up there in forgeability
