Sadly, I have the same feeling. I doubt they'll explain anything like, what "Branch of Sin" is or whatever. Also, having voice box guy as the final boss isn't really earned. :/

Anime did really terribly, mainly (I think) because it came out a month after the 2011 earthquake. I think they even changed it from "Great Tokyo Earthquake" to "Red Hole" when it was referenced in episode 6 because, ya know, Tohoku earthquake.
