Trigun is probably my all time favorite Shonen adaptation. I prefer its take to the manga by a fairly large margin.

JoJo had the best idea ever for a battle shonen of soft rebooting every couple of years and no one has stolen it for over 30 years.

There's a lot of novels, like really good novels, that use the same idea. There's also a lot of myths that do it. It really is odd that more manga don't ape the trope.
