Random but in english class, while discussing the stranger, we mentioned hats in relation to people, and we were discussing a man with a straw hat and how it showed who he was.
When the teacher said "Now, what does this straw hat show about him?"
I had to really resist the urge to say that he wanted to be king of the pirates >.>
welp

The whole episode was a recap a bunch of regular Toonami GAF members skipped it (including me) it's no surprise it was the lowest this week.

Also for those wondering, yes it's only been 1 episode into it's filler ending but Akame Ga Kill's filler route is already even worse then Blue Exorcist or Soul Eater. Without going into detail imagine that after Blue Exorcist or Soul Eater finished their last canon episode, they instead cut the next 5 episodes and then aired the next episode in filler land. Its instantly apparent that something is off as the story randomly jumps ahead and you feel like you must have missed an episode or three.

Everything I've been hearing has really sapped my desire to continue with the show. It was mostly mediocre with a few notable highs but I have interest if the overall quality is going to take an even further nose dive :/

Honestly go check out the manga if the overall premise and those notable highs kept you engaged, the part where the anime randomly skipped ahead is when the series really picked up with some really awesome shonen battles and other moments that are all being completely skipped over :\

At least the series did introduce me to a manga I've really enjoyed and the first 18 episodes were a perfect adaptation of that manga.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I hope the Toonami higher ups understand that One Piece is in recap mode and ratings will be down.
... I hope.

I guess DBZ Kai is doing a well enough job of retaining the midnight audience but it doesn't seem to be adding anybody new. Not all that surprising actually.

One Piece isn't getting dropped from Toonami as MCXC and others have pointed out it still ranks number 1 in it's intended demographic, at worst we could see the series slide down later in the night which shouldn't impact most of Toonami GAF as most of us generally stay up for all the premiers.

Hey, at least One Piece finally beat Bleach. Even if it was on an hour and a half later and was a repeat!

Glad people are coming back for Inuyasha.

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that Kai isn't bringing in new viewers after 2 weeks and during a Dish/Turner contract dispute. Everything on the front end of the block is down ~200K viewers right now.

I was about to say the entire block is about 200K viewers down, but then I realized that doesn't make sense.

AoT actually increased in ratings?!

The premier episode of a new show always does better then average and then drop down after a week or two. No conclusions can be drawn after 1 week of final act and 2 weeks of dbz kai. Heck we won't really get a good idea of how things are until end of January after movie month and people settle back into routine (and hopefully dish gets settled)

I'm sorta impressed viewers are cognitive enough to recognize One Piece's recap episodes for what they are.

And how long till Inuyasha gets moved up in the line up? They should just swap it with Attack on Titan

Not a bad night, considering AoT and Bleach on rerun and One Piece in heavy recap mode. People coming back hard for Inuyasha.

I think it's likely that January we could see Attack on Titan slide down to 2 AM and have the entire block of premieres move up half an hour

EDIT: Actually, since Big O ends on the 27th of January, we could see something like:

11:30 - New Show
12:00 - DBZ Kai
12:30 - Shippuden
1:00 - One Piece
1:30 - Gurren Lagann
2:00 - Inuyasha: The Final Act
2:30 - Attack on Titan
3:00 - Bleach
3:30 - Space Dandy
4:00 - Cowboy Bebop
4:30 - FMA Brotherhood
5:00 - Ghost in the Shell
5:30 - Samurai Jack

or depending on the show you could move DBZ and the rest up half an hour and have the new show on at 2:00

They seem to like to have the endless shonen start at midnight but you never know when they might move DBZ Kai up to the lead slot.

I actually think what will probably happen is that Attack on Titan moves down and the rest of the block moves up, since Inuyasha was probably going to be their brand new show for the start of the year before the Hellsing debacle.

I don't understand why Inuyasha isn't leading off the block right now. Not only was it THE flagship show from all the way back in 2002, it was the anchor at the front of the block for pretty much its entire premiere run, sort of the way Bleach has been the last several years. It would likely be very close to the same thing even now in 2014 for new premiering episodes, as evidenced by its big ass spike in viewership despite airing in the middle of the fucking dead of night. There's no way Inuyasha doesn't break a million if it was in that spot this past Saturday. Its old fans would happily come back in droves, and the younger demographics would still be awake and watching (and Inuyasha was always a younger skewing show, much like Bleach).

Just seems weird to me when you have a show like that with an established fan base within your core viewership making its US television premiere that you would instead lead off the block with:

1) A second run show (third run in the case of the first half of the series)
2) A show that aired edited on another network while itself being an edited version of a 25 year old show to begin with
3) A show that aired edited on another network and is 2 and a half years older than Inuyasha: The Final Act
4) A show that is making its US premiere television run but is 400 episodes behind its present Japan run and is airing episodes that are 3 years older than Inuyasha: The Final Act
5) A show that aired edited on another network and is 2 and a half years older than Inuyasha: The Final Act

I mean, maybe that's just me...

Forecast says....17*F.

& of course, despite my dad suggesting the idea, I can't wait to find a phone (cuz I don't have a cellphone) only to call him & hear him say he doesn't have a spare key.

I only had a prepaid one & even then, you had to pay a fee to keep it "activated" despite the fact I had a crapton of minutes, so figured it wasn't worth keeping/having one if I never used it, let alone able to pay the fees.

Also, I just learned there's a "Keys Locked In Car" twitter account. I feel too annoyed to have an opinion on that.

Sounds like you need a slim jim lock pick. A coat hanger works too if you either buttons or manual locks you can easily manipulate. I've actually had a cop help me with this before when I locked myself out of my car during the winter. Nice guy.

Ugh, I feel for you. On my old car I could peel back the molding and bend the glass enough to get my arm in and unlock the door. Never got robbed though.

OH THANK GOD.

So not only did campus police unlock my car before my class, but they did it for free! Of course, my dad didn't have a spare (told me to get one made as soon as I got done with classes), but I'm just so glad I didn't have to spend $50 and waste my holiday funds away.
