Just to share, I've loved how... not effected NC feels by the recent election. Sure there's political signs all over, but I've been out shopping a lot these past few days (Chased around an NES Classic from 12 AM last night, to basically 8AM this morning with only a few hours break), and everyone I stood in line with, chatted with, and shared "THESE GUYS MADE ME STAY IN LINE FOR 45 MIN BEFORE REVEALING THEY COULDN'T FIND THEIR SYSTEMS!" stories with was pleasant, friendly, and the perfect mix of a melting pot of races and ideas, just as one images of the US.
Standing outside a store before it opens, all cold, and searching for a hotly contested, limited quantity items, with the potential to get freakin PISSED when someone tells you that 45 minutes was wasted with no reward... bursting into a store and rushing to a certain section, trying to get limited units before another... yet we were all wishing each other good luck, sharing stories about why we're out there, congratulating those who found what they wanted, enjoying stories of what said person's friends found, etc.
It's just nice. I keep expecting to see SOMETHING negative of shocking in this most volatile time. But none of my family have returned from their outings with any horror stories. Noone's witnessed anything out of the ordinary. If anything, we've just seen examples of people being more inclusive, more polite, more pleasant. If the things I hear about others on twitter and news have lowered my faith in humanity, that wish I've walked in, experience first hand, and heard going about around me have at least maintained my original feelings, ha.
So stay strong, my ToonAmi's! Theres a lot of people out there who won't turn into rambling idiotic real-life net trolls just due to exterior changes.
