But Canada's still easily one of the countries most friendly to immigration in the entire world. The skill-based category is what nearly everybody uses to get in, as far as i know, and the list of skills and credentials they accept are more lenient and broad than any other first world country I know of. Especially if you're bilingual.
But no, it's not trivial to immigrate, even for Canada. And I suspect they're going to be wary of applications from the US for a while.
