This episode is basically Bleach in miniature. Sound and fury signifying nothing.

If I'm reading Wikipedia episode listing right, there's still like 10 filler episodes after this, maybe just disconnected from this stuff.
Last arc lasted...what? 5-6 years? I was in middle school and remember seeing the Espadas for the first time.
Not as bad as the Naruto filler from what I've watched, but that doesn't mean much: It's still awful.
I haven't see much beyond the HM arc tho.

this x 1000. It wasn't actually that bad in Kenshin until that Christian arc though.
Bleach dub isn't that bad, people just blow things out of proportions but out of the big "three" (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach) I think Bleach has the better dub.
