There's a LOT of stuff in that episode that makes lots of sense once everything has been revealed and you understand everything that's going on (and what exactly Desperation Disease entails). Aside from that, there was a lot of setting up the scenario for the next episode and moving all the pieces into place.

The next several episodes are chock full of action, feels, and drama. And then, finally, actual reveals and detailed exposition.
