I only watched the first episode of the sequel. Does anyone know if it's any good?

It starts out as a decent mech show, but as a sequel it doesn't have any of the charm or focus that the original series had and is hardly connected to it. The connections to the original feel forced and half-assed. The plot doesn't even stand on its own in the end.
