Oh, and I must congratulate One Piece for beating out GT despite getting massacred last round. Impressive.
Yeah, even though it didn't make it past the second round, it at least showed to me that One Piece love is strong here, so I'm satisfied. ^_^

This thread has quickly devolved into in-fight, as the 90's thread did. It's awesome and makes it much more enjoyable and less predictable. I love it.

Yea, I did. Zatch Bell was about some people who fight using living dolls or something, and it was actually pretty decent. Or maybe I only thought it was good as a kid and it was actually terrible.

Zatch Bell (a.k.a Konjiki no Gash Bell) is a great show. I'm not gonna judge it on it's showing in Toonami, though. It changed the awesome openings/endings and had some localization issues.
That said, the original Japanese show is fantastic... up until the last 20 episodes or so. Then it completely branches off from the manga and ends prematurely due to the manga writer getting injured (which is why I won't allow it to place high, but it's still better than a lot of other shows here).
What I liked about the show is that, from the beginning, you know that the main characters are going to "die". It would be impossible to end the story without that happening. That also goes for the antagonists and other characters outside the main cast, since usually they are not even bad people either.
Seriously though, this opening is hype.

It's going to be sad to look at the final list and see One Piece in 83rd place, and a show like Ben 10 and Hamtaro being higher. Your telling me people would rather watch Hamtaro then One Piece?

I liked Ben 10 and watched it regularly back then. I just can't watch the show anymore, because of Alien Force. They really milked this show until its last leg, it really ruined it for me. Teenage Ben was terrible, and his friends were as well. The whole being a kid thing worked for him because he made mistakes and his Grandpa was there to help him out.

I just read the last 3 or 4 pages of this thread, it has been a fun ride.
So One Piece fell too. I guess I can live with that. Maybe we should take the next of the big three.

This will be my last posting about SAO on this thread, but I wanted to say that we could have an entire thread about any of the shows on the list and there will surely be a handful or more individuals who think it is the worst show on the planet. I'm also not trying to call you out for thinking it is one of the 3 worst shows on the list. I am also not a raving fanboy for SAO. I like the show very much but it is certainly no where near a top tier program. The way it was treated since the beginning of this thread though just reinforces the disappointment I have had with Anime/ToonamiGAF with regards to that particular show.
Its treatment is similar to what is happening now with Attack on Titan and are the same things that happened to blockbuster summer movies like Avatar, The Dark Knight and the Avengers. The reaction was initially very positive, the show got popular and now it gets piled upon. That is the kind of thing I expect from Gamefaqs or IMDB, not Neogaf. If you don't like the show and have never liked it, fine, it isn't everyone's cup of tea. The problem that gets to me is when we have items on the list like:
-D.I.C.E.
-Bakugan Battle Brawlers
-Duel Masters
-Blue Dragon
-Astro Boy (2003)
-Ben 10: AF
And yet, we have individuals that will always say it is the worst of the worst. Come on. The writing isn't the best on the show and Kirito is most likely a Mary Sue (is to me, might not be to someone else), but the animation/art alone is good most of the time and phenomenal in parts. The pacing, I don't see much of a problem with. It has a sluggish couple episodes in the middle of the first season, but otherwise, it has next to no filler. The dubbing is also adequate. Not ground breaking but not something laughable like mid-90s-esque. Again, these are all my opinions in here clearly but I find it very dishonest to call it worse than dreck that 4kids shat out a complete butcher job of or were clear BS toy tie-ins.
My last part I don't believe is a spoiler but I don't want to screw anyone, so I'm spoiler tagging it.
I'll end by saying the clear elephant in the room and the easy target is that there is the attraction from Suguha to Kazuto. I really don't know why this is harped on though. The show does not condone it in any way or even entertain it as a possibility. The girl harbors the thoughts, when he finds out, he shuts her down. This isn't like Oreimo where the attraction ends up mutual and is actually played out.
I don't expect to change anyone's mind, but I wanted to express my disappointment for a community that is usually very objective in its opinions.
Alright, I'm actually going to start going for bad shows and not just shows I hate. There's so many more worthy candidates that need to fall early. With that said...

You are underwriting how awful the writing is. No one on the show behaves the way a human being would. All of the characters do nothing but make terrible decisions, and it leads you to hate them. It's possible to make great TV about characters that make bad decisions- Breaking Bad is the best TV show of all time, and is all about a character making a series of stupid decisions!- but this show doesn't even try. I understand the argument of "just enjoy the animation and fights", but I went into this show expecting the smartest anime in years. Instead, I got something that is so poorly written by 14 year old fanfiction standards that it takes away any enjoyment one could get from anything the show gets "right".
I understand why people enjoy things that are terrible. I understand why there are millions of girls who believe Tzarnaev of the Boston bombings has to be innocent because "there is no way someone so beautiful could be guilty". I understand why the Twilight movies make hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars while being soul-wrenchingly awful films. I even understand why millions of people enjoy watching The Big Bang Theory every week, with its Black face level portrayal of nerd humor. And yet, I cannot find a reason that people defend this show.
This post was a lot longer and more vitriol-filled, but I don't want to get banned. Needless to say, I don't have a high opinion of the show.

I was always told as a kid that Dragonball Z was a great action cartoon. Every time I watched it, there was almost no action! When your show is so poorly paced that you eventually go back and fix it (DBZ Kai), you know it has real issues. And while Hamtaro was funny yesterday, the joke is already ran into the ground for me

Fuck it, I liked this show a lot. Glad the team dubbing it realized how stupid card games really are in the grand scheme, and just goofed off for the entire script
