LOL. Ok.
My general point STILL stands. I apologize for sharing my opinion...I am out.
What's this from?
The fact that the wolf isn't moving at all in that shot is ridiculous jarring.f[/IMG]
I always feel like stop motion shouldn't count.
This isn't "What's the best film?", it's about animation/artistry.
And Garden of Words is a fucking incredible example of animation.
I see that blinking green phone light a lot in threads like these. Not sure why it's used as an example, seems extremely simple. Same with the other examples from that movie. Is it more the mood it sets that people love?
Also what constitutes "best animated"?
A few movies listed here have tons of eye candy, crazy camera movements and effects but the characters are basically talking heads.
I'd take the animation in the Jungle Book or the Illusionist over KnK any day. That's what makes Akira so good, it had everything animation wise.
No The Last Unicorn?
Mr fox and boxtrolls are some of best hand animated film of all time.Mr Fox and Boxtrolls?
pffffff...
Someone needs to really introduce this list to Studio Ghibli, Secret of the Kells, and Song of the Sea.

That's so weird.that's strange, it looks like they pasted San gif over a jpg
It's common for some to confuse "wow this extremely well done illustration is some great animation" when it comes to Japanese animated films, granted a good amount of their films do have lots of movement comparable to Disney films, but there are a ton of stills with a panning camera and a simple animation. That kinda thing kinda takes me out of the film when they do that.I see that blinking green phone light a lot in threads like these. Not sure why it's used as an example, seems extremely simple. Wow. Like that list isn't biased towards western animation or anything.
KnK: Garden of Sinners should be on that list somewhere.
That was just the first movie. The sequels showed noticeable improvement over this.
Where's Spirited Away? Princess Mononoke? Howl's Moving Castle? Akira? Paprika? So many great Japanese films absent.
Ya, strange, narrow-minded list imo.So 90% of the best animation occuered in the past 5 years.
