Another one from Death note, whenNaomi is tricked into writing her own name.

From Steins;Gate was damn powerful.
HxH: Episode 111Palace invasion by the Hunters..... more specifically Netero and Zeno.
Never been so hyped after an episode as an anime only watcher at the time. So many different scenarios and battle possibilities were flying through my head. It was kind of like God coming down from the heavens to face the ultimate evil.
Hype levels were at maximum for the whole week and 112 only maintained the hype. Jeezus
Heh, everything posted from HxH in this thread but this:
...is from the Chimera Arc. Maybe 'cause it's the most recent, but there are a ton more scenes form other arcs that were powerful!
And this one caught me really off guard the first time i watched it

Nah, bruh, Gon fights Hisoka in the Heaven's Arena. Hisoka was not in the Chimera Ant Arc
I thought I repressed thisNo WMT examples yet? Too old and niche I guess. Dog of Flanders may be the most well known one. The scene was even parodied in Pokemon:

I won't spoil the thing itself since it's from the ending.
That's what I said. "But this" as in, "except this."
Actually it was a Betamax tape.Bebop's Ending (especially when Blue kicks in) is the easy choice but i go with the final moments of Episode 18 (Speak Like a Child) when Faye is watching herself on a vhs-tape while she was young.
The shift was sudden but i loved it.
Let me count all the One Piece moments
1. Nami's backstory/Bellemere's death2. "Luffy, help me"3. Chopper's backstory4. Luffy vs Ussop5. "I Want to Live"6. Luffy vs Lucci7. Viking death8. Ussop returns to the crew9. The seperation of the crew10. Ace's death
Sadly the comparisons make people not watch it :/Finally this gets posted! Was just about to do it myself. RahXephon, even if very similar to Eva, still stands on its own. That scene, had quite an impact....
The shit-kicking that follows is nothing short of amazing.http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs48/f/2009/206/e/6/Hajime_no_Ippo_Takamura_Gif_by_PrOTuL.gif[/IMG]
Absolutely. Okiura's ability to capture human emotion in facial animation is incredible.Jin-Roh - The whole ending is powerful and understated in it's execution.. that fade to the credits.
Gladly seconding this. And I don't think this scene would be the same without Kenji Kawai's sound. In terms of atmosphere, this is absolute perfection.Patlabor 2 - military in the city

This was such a powerful moment the first time I viewed it. It loses much of its punch without the preceeding events, but the juxtaposition of military and civilian lives clashing is still executed so perfectly. It's a haunting scene that I find myself thinking about far more often than I would have ever guessed.

One Piece - Luffy punches Celestial Dragon in the face
Because when a punch is animated that well and looks that satisfying, I just want to start watching cartoons.
Usually when I see these gifs or stumble upon these clips on youtube, I pop in a DBZ or One Piece DVD.
Sadly the comparisons make people not watch it :/
