The alt right is an actual group of people and ideologies that explicitly came together to rebrand white nationalism into something more media friendly in order for their values to subvert political culture. A cancer like growth that spreads its hateful views through false promises and misinformation. A movement that attempts to convince the most privileged people in human history that they are instead threatened and oppressed.

The left has no counterpart to this. You don't have secret communists doing stalin handshakes infiltrating the media waxing poetic about the glory days when open oppression was the status quo.
