But do you support the hiring by Trump?
I couldn't care less. I know nothing about him, other than apparently his wife has posted things on twitter that some find "offensive".
But do you support the hiring by Trump?
That would be because they are.....you know.....offensive.apparently his wife has posted things on twitter that some find "offensive".
I don't see anything wrong with the hiring. He hired the husband and not her. Not his problem.
Is he really guilty?Hiring the co president of a cable news network, who has been named alongside said network in numerous sexual assault suits, as deputy chief of staff for the administration should give everyone pause.

To the replies saying "His wife wasn't hired", I asked in the original post what if the wife had praised Black Panthers? ISIS? Would you still say "His wife wasn't hired"?
Is he really guilty?
They were pointing something out another user actually said.
Before this spirals into yet another thread of abstracts and otherings, may I suggest that we humanize ourselves a bit? It is easy to turn a person into an abstract, a thing. It's easier to hate things. That is why there was so much racist propaganda in our world wars. A person becomes an abstracted monstrosity in order to make it easier to attack.
Let's not do that again, by example we can find a new way. I'll start. This is not easy for me to admit, but I will for the health of our community. I own over one hundred board games and never play them. Not because I don't want to, mind you. I don't have any real friends to play with. My daughter doesn't like them and my wife is the same. I hold onto them because I am hopeful that someday someone will want to play with me. I am a grown man and feel pathetic because of this.
Who do you think is being abstracted? The co president of fox news, who was in charge of creating disingenuous programing? Or his wife who literally has posted dumb shit on twitter?
What white people and black people? There was black people who had & sold slaves, not only black slaves, but white slaves too. Could those people say the N word?
And also, the inmense majority of white people never had slaves. Can their descendents said the N word then? what about the descendent of someone who had his mother raped and murdered by black people? Can that person say the N word because it's historically justified then?
What kind of comparison is this? Black Panther was in my knowledge a very violent organisation aka terroist and jihad? Really?Trump supporters love this. But if she was a Black panther sympathiser, or a jihadist sympathiser, I bet this conversation would be different....
Thanks for demonstrating my point.
What kind of comparison is this? Black Panther was in my knowledge a very violent organisation aka terroist and jihad? Really?
Also I agree that people should be allowed to say it since I am against any form of discrimination. And lets be honest here. If I would say nigga and you would beat me for it. I would win at a court because it is not illegal to say it. Either we ban the word completly or everyone has the right to say it.

Well, it's a good thing she isn't praising anyone. Stop dealing in ridiculous hypotheticals.
racist can be violent racist are not formed group the NSU which was big in Germany just now are a group and they were racist.Black panthers are violent, but racists are not? Ok.....
It's a question to Trump supporters who justify it by saying she wasn't the one who was hired, but her husband was. So I ask if they would still be ok, if she had tweeted against something you are against would you still say the same thing?
Instead of racism, her tweets contained symapthies for jihadis or Black panther, would you still support hiring the spouse of that person?
Jesus Christ the amount of times I have to ask this question because it get's ignored....
The woman is more than the sum of her tweets. She has a whole life full of things you don't know about. Now in the instance of her tweets, she is the one abstracting. The only thing I suggested was that we not let her make us sink to doing it ourselves. It is in our nature to group up. So let's us, all of us here on this forum, group up. But we'll be a different kind of group. One that lets people feel welcomed, like that bar on that TV show "Cheers" that I can't remember the name of. Sure we can disagree, but we will disagree as individuals, as people. I want you to know that I am a frail and fragile person just like you. But I can also aspire, just like you.
No one deliberately falls into a honeypot, dear. Your question holds no nuance, it is not subtle enough. Magic 8 ball says, "Try again later".
Since I am for free political opinions I will say yes as long they do not promote and encourage violence . For example if you talk abou jihad as struggle than it is fine. If you talk about the holy war then not. It's a question to Trump supporters who justify it by saying she wasn't the one who was hired, but her husband was. So I ask if they would still be ok, if she had tweeted against something you are against would you still say the same thing?

This reads like word jumble from an algorithm, so does the one I replied to now that I read it again.
Right, can't admit to the double standard so it's a "honey pot". Ok.
NO since you are encouraging a terror organisation who tries to change the political field due to fear and violence. Why is this so hard to understand. Racist are not a formed group everyone can and often is some level of racist. A formed group who's goal is a political change through violence. So a tweet like "ISIS is just defending themselves" would be ok? That tweet didn't encourage violence, but it is obviously contains sympathies for ISIS. But in your mind, there is no issue with hiring the spouse of that person?

What is it that some of you want? To admit she said stupid things? Yes, she did. What the heck are we supposed to do about it? What happens if she comes forward and admits she was awful and will try to do better in the future? Can she be forgiven? Will some of you never be satisfied until we all live in your idea of a glorious socialist state? Who's back will be against the wall first? The enemies of the state, or the useful idiots? I read on the other place that some people really believe that 1/3 of Americans are racist and irredeemable. Who here believes that? I have a hard time thinking that people really believe that!!
I don't want to live in your "New Socialist Republic", so you will have to eliminate or re-educate me. That is what I think you are after, tell me I'm wrong please.
I know it seems like I keep moving the goal posts to try to catch you out, but that isn't my intention. My aim is to try to make you see this issue from the other side, have a sense of common understanding with the "other" group so that we can have a proper, honest dialogue.
Your question is by it's nature rhetorical, it cannot be answered in a way that will satisfy. I just saw your reply to me, but you are just saying the same thing again, so I can retort here just fine. It would be improper of me to imply a positive where only a negative was attributed, so let me ask plainly. Do you wish for a day when the revolution will take hold among the proles to spark a new beginning for mankind? A beginning where equality of outcome for all will be finally achieved?
People like to beat around the bush when asked directly these questions. I hope you will be direct in your reply.
This is the beginning of the dialog you so wish for. It starts with an axiom.
A revolution? Against what? You think I'm communist because I find racist tweets disgusting? Erm, nah, I'm for democracy. As terrible a system it is, it really is the best system we have. You must be trolling if you think being against racism makes you a communist.....
There will be no WW3 caused by this administration, but you can bet humanity will be sent back in time by 40-50 years in it’s attitude and values.
It’s almost like they are scared that the world looks different so they are trying to hard reset it back to the “good old days”
How about you? You want to answer my questions? You think you know what it is that I want, but you don't. You really don't. You are not looking in the right place. Try harder, stop spreading your phony theories about people you don't even know.
I do not believe that people think that to be honest. You can interpret it like that just like people do this with the stupid Trump hat. Also If you look at Linda Sarasour who is a huge fan of the Sharia and even the Muslim Brotherhood which is forbidden here in Germany she has no consequences even was seen as the rolemodel for the women's march. In these days it always depends on which side you are on. Also Sharia law states to kill homosexual people.... so it is a form of violence. Everyone who supports the Sharia is not a moderate but an extremist. And the difference to the flag or hat that it actually states to kill people.Wouldn't defending the confederate/confederacy fall into that too? Since you are defending a state that encouraged violence against the USA to keep the black people enslaved? And yes she has tweets with the confederate flag and defending it. Surely that falls into your "its all good unless you encourage violence" stance on hiring people with problematic spouses?
I'll change my hypothetical from "ISIS is cool y'all" to something a little less blunt. How about "In my opinion, shariah law is the best system of governance". No violence encouraged there, just a religious, albeit misguided, belief. So hiring the spouse of someone who tweets that is ok?

I have a relative who just started playing strategy games at her local library, and she loves it. They can't plan events there often enough for the group, so they also meet up in public to play at other times as well. Maybe check to see if your local library offers anything similar.
They in context means President Trump supporters, I assume. Forgive me for that, but I think I am correct in my assumption. I am a President Trump supporter. Ergo, I am scared that the world looks different. "Good old days" in context means a time before the civil rights movement when taken with the previous sentence.....40-50 years back in time. Can we just assume that we both know what it is you were inferring so I don't have to spell it out? You want to call me a racist, but for some reason you need to put it in code. Am I correct? There were calls for dialogue, let's have it. I am game. I can articulate fairly well. I only use simple language and I don't throw a bunch of charts up to confuse.
Don't tell me what I value. Ask me if you're uncertain. I like you, and I hardly know you. Let's discuss!
Sorry, but you already admitted all that needs to be said
"To be fair, the White House isn't hiring Darla Shine. They are hiring her husband. And most Americans are not denied jobs because of the behavior of their spouses."
This is a perfect example of one of the Left's favorite terms: whataboutism.
But you voted for Hillary who called African-American children in gangs "superpredators", who was the wife of Bill Clinton who used super-racist campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" nearly 30 years ago.
Oops.
Calm down. I am not a Trump supporter, I don't even live in there. And what do you mean with "tweeted things you are against" and then saying "instead of racism"? Looks like you are saying that I am not against racism. Of course i am against, racism is bad!Why do all of you Trump supports dodge the original question. Yes he hired the husband and not her, but what if she had tweeted things you are against? Instead of racism, she tweeted in support for ISIS/Antifa/BLM etc? Would you still be saying that? That he "hired the husband and not her"?
The far left often falls for the fallacy of guilt by association.Calm down. I am not a Trump supporter, I don't even live in there. But it's not Trump's fault that this guy has some bad people in his family. He was hired based on his skills.
If you have a family member who supports ISIS, does that mean you should not be hired for a job which you have the skills for? Is it your fault? No more jobs for you until your family member changes his opinion?
That is like make the children responsible for what the parents did. AKA history and slavery so no thank you. A person is stlll an individual and should be treated as such. I or you have nothing to do with what your parents or ancestors did. I am responsible for me and in some circumstances my children when they are young. But thats it. You can criticize her without going against him as well. What should he do? Punish her for bad tweets? Why do all of you Trump supports dodge the original question. Yes he hired the husband and not her, but what if she had tweeted things you are against? Instead of racism, she tweeted in support for ISIS/Antifa/BLM etc? Would you still be saying that?
